“Captain is full of delicious chemistry, nonstop laughs, and HOT sexy times – the perfection combination to make an unforgettable romance!” A.L. Jackson, NYT & USA Bestselling AuthorFrom, Lauren Rowe, the USA Today and International bestselling author of The Club Series and Ball Peen Hammer comes a sexy STANDALONE romance in THE MORGAN BROTHERS series: Captain. It wasn’t the way this kind of … way this kind of story was supposed to go . . .
Insta-love isn’t supposed to turn into insta-hate.
But that’s exactly what happened when the hot-as-hell dreamboat I met in a bar turned out to be a lying, cheating scumbag-player-douche looking for nothing but a little side action. Jerk.
And he has the nerve to call me a liar and a “sociopath”? Asshle.
And now, three months later, through a mind-blowing series of events I couldn’t have predicted in a million years, it turns out my boss is marrying his sister in Hawaii and I’ve got to play nice with him for an entire freaking week.
Okay, sure, I’ll put on a happy face this week and act like I’ve never even met the jerk before–did I mention his sister is marrying my boss?–but that doesn’t mean I’ll like it. And it certainly doesn’t mean I’ll stop secretly hating the arrogant bastard’s guts.
Because I do.
I hate him.
I really do.
I just wish my brain would explain the situation to my body . . . because every time he flashes that panty-melting smile at me, it takes all my self-restraint not to jump the bastard’s hot-as-fck bones.
Indulge in the distinctive world of Lauren Rowe, as she invites you into a world filled with humor, passion, wit, and heat. One of the sexiest novels ever written, while still maintaining an enormous amount of wit and humor and originality.

OH. MY. GIDDY. AUNT!! I think I’m at a loss for words over this one……….
I’ve been following Lauren and her writing since she first released The Club books. Still now these are my all time favourite series of books, I just couldn’t get enough of them and recommend everyone to read them. So when I got the opportunity to read Captain I was over the moon!! But what I wasn’t expecting was to be completely and utterly floored by the book and by Lauren’s writing. I am in awe!!
This to me was just soo much more…… like that feeling you get when you’ve been away maybe for a while, and its time to return home to family and friends, to laughter, joy, snuggles and camaraderie. Its like being wrapped up in your favourite blanket with snuggly socks and a hot cup of chocolate when its cold and wintry outside…. it gives you that warm rosy glow, that feeling of comfort. Add all this with some ridiculously red hot steamy panty melting sexy scenes and some moments where you just can’t help laughter from bursting from you out loud and you might just be starting to get a feel for what this book is like!!
If you’ve read The Club series of books then you will know the Faradays and the Morgans, and just how fabulous these families are!! If you’ve not read them yet, I guarantee you will want to after reading Captain – which is a standalone, but has the characters from The Club series in there.
This book is based around one of the Morgan brothers, Ryan, and his girl Tessa. They have an instant lightning bolt connection, a soul meeting its mate, but this changes to enemies wanting to hate each other but unable to deny their destiny to be together, and ends up being a very deep and intense enemies to lovers/friends relationship that had me swooning, with a permanent goofy smile on my face.
But its not just Ryan and Tessa that make this book what it is – its the rest of the Morgans and Faradays and their unique ways that really bring this book to life. This story just has everything for me – a perfect blend of friendship, love, laughter, banter, passion and angst. THE FEELS!!!!
It was more than just reading a book, it was like actually being there and participating!! I was well and truly transported into their world and experienced everything the characters did and felt throughout the story. From jittery butterflies in my stomach, to belly ache from laughing, to my ovaries exploding at the sweetness, to panties melting from the hotness, with some OMG and WTF moments in there as well!!
I seriously can’t recommend this book enough to you!! Lauren’s writing talents continue to grow from strength to strength, and this book just proves that. I completely and utterly loved it to bits and can’t wait for you to meet the Captain – expect your world to be blown smithereens!
Captain

Narrated by: Lauren Rowe, John Lane
Series: The Morgan Brothers, Book 2
I loved this book, heck I love this whole series! This is Ryan’s story and we get his humor as well as the humor from the whole Morgan Clan who are together in Hawaii for Kitty Kat’s wedding. Lauren Rowe continues to write wonderful storylines in this series, I really enjoyed how Ryan’s played out. I am off the the next in the series. I am going to have serious book withdrawals when I am done. I need the next book , Dax’s story, Stat!! Thanks for another great audible listen!
This one follows Ryan and Tessa and their relationship I think that’s as simple as it is, a nice romantic journey with some struggles is the perfect way to describe this plot.
Ryan was described many times as a sweetheart although that was mostly by his family. Ryan was super passionate when it came to his search for Samantha before he knew she was Tessa. I really did love that despite what Olivia did he was still willing to find Tessa and set her straight and be with her.
Tessa I loved her, she seemed so shy and then when you see her in her element which is working as Josh’s personal assistant she really comes alive in her job. I loved how focused she was in her job and she really just wanted them to succeed. I think the way she manages to get everyone falling in love with her is hilarious.
Tessa and Ryan their first meeting was so funny and cute and actually, I loved how nerdy it was especially when they begin talking about powerpoints it was really cute and I loved it! There were a few moments in this book that made me laugh out loud.
I think the main thing about this book I really loved was family. As it was Kat and Josh’s wedding we see the whole Morgan family and I loved that. They all teased each other and they all supported each other, I also loved Colby appearing in this book especially as I did read Hero. I think even out of the whole Morgan family Kat has to be my favourite, she was so cunning and the way she figured it out and that Tessa was really the Samantha that Ryan was searching for. I loved it. The whole family were just really supportive and you are truly sucked into this family and I love it!
The ending was really cute, the whole powerpoint presentation thing comes back away and it was honestly the perfect way to describe Tessa and Ryan!
I loved the writing, I loved the plot and characters! It was perfect onto the next one!
O M G!!! I absolutely loved Captain! I am a huge fan of all of Lauren Rowe’s books and I added this instantly to my “read before you die” Goodreads folder! I got this as an audiobook and true to form, Lauren herself does the narration along with John Lane. Can I just say the audio is enthralling! Lauren reads with such enthusiasm its infectious! And John, well John can whisper sweet nothings into my ear all day long!! There is one scene in particular, where most of the family is brainstorming ways to find Ryan’s flight attendant. Lauren was voicing like six people back-n-forth, putting their two cents in! Kudos for that scene alone! If you haven’t dove into audiobooks yet, this is a great one to try them out with!
Now for the book! It was funny, sweet, angsty at times, and so fun to listen to! The ending brought tears to my eyes-and that’s a sign of great story telling! Not every author has the ability to make you feel like they want you to. I think that is Lauren’s super power! She had me feeling everything from joy to sorrow in Captain.
I love the Morgan family! I didn’t realize how much I’d missed them till I was well into this book! and Yes! Keane too! This book takes place before Ball Peen Hammer-(Keane’s story, which I also loved) and it’s Ryan “Captain” Morgan’s story.
Ryan is the proverbial man-whore jumping from chick to chick. He was totally hot, loveable, and absolutely stopped those man-whoring ways once Tessa was in his orbit! I instantly loved Tessa! Having met her in previous books, it was good to get to know her here. She’s strong, independent, and very loyal. You could feel these two clicking right from the start! The bantering was cute, and the dual POV drove the story. And the spiciness??? Off the charts! They were like magnets! A tsunami couldn’t keep them away from each other. Hot Hot Hot!
The whole story was meticulously crafted, and I loved the subtle building up! Things could’ve been wrapped up quickly, but the hands of fate step in, and our story unfolds, building up. You know the train wreck is coming but you can’t look away type of hold. Lauren’s use of secondary characters also makes a huge impact-they make everything stick.
Captain can be read easily as a standalone and you will love it. So now you will want to go start reading from the beginning with The Club. Now I am patiently waiting for who’s story we are treated to next! Colby? Hen? Dax? The list is long!!
How fun and entertaining was this! I had a blast reading Captain. I loved the characters, the story line, and the out right fun vibe it had, awesome read!
Oh my God!!!
The Morgans are BACK and it doesn’t get any better than this!
Last year, I fell head over heels in LOVE with sexy, blue-haired stripper Keane Morgan (Ball Peen Hammer). In my eyes, no other Morgan brother could top Keane.
But Lauren Rowe just gave Keane some major competition!
I don’t think there is going to be a single brother in this family that I’m not going to love! Of course, that is assuming that Colby and Dax get their stories told too (WHICH I’M PRAYING FOR)!
Ryan Morgan is dreamy. Not only do you get that tatted-up bad boy with piercings (whoa…) but you also get the sweet, loving, sexy, romantic, truly good guy you desire! All rolled into a witty, charming, sexy (did I mention that already, because it bears repeating) package.
Tessa is a force to be reckoned with. She’s calculated, organized, skeptical, and her ability to trust has been broken several times over. But no one, and I do mean no one, can resist the Morgan charm for long.
Get ready for a fun and hilarious ride when you pick up this book. Not only will you laugh out loud, but you’ll swoon too.
Five quirky, hilarious stars!!!
Captain Morgan set my heart ablaze. I fall more and more in love with the Morgan family with each book. Ryan Morgan is some serious book boyfriend material. I loved him immediately and how hard he worked to find the woman in the flight attendant who he believed was his soulmate. I give him some serious props for the lengths he was willing to go and when he found her he did everything in his power to keep her and make her see that they were meant for each other.
Now I have to say I didn’t love this book as much as Lauren’s other books. That doesn’t mean I didn’t absolutely enjoy this book, but damn its so hard to out-do Keane. I liked Captain for reasons different that I loved Ball Peen Hammer. What Captain so great for me was the family aspect. Tessa/Samantha/T-Rod works for Josh, Kat’s fiance and is very close with the Morgan family. Of course Ryan’s whole family loved her and having the family all together in Hawaii was the most amazing thing to read. I loved seeing all the Morgan children together, supporting one another, and helping Ryan get the girl.
I really loved Ryan and Tessa together. Their chemistry was explosive and off the charts hot. I seriously can’t get enough of this family. This was another great and funny novel by Lauren Rowe.
I love love love the Morgan family but Ryan…Captain Morgan…is my absolute favorite. Tess is the perfect match for him and the two of them together are hot hot hot.
Lauren Rowe is my new favorite author! Captain Morgan and the whole Morgan clan are in rare form as always! If you haven’t met them all yet, then what are you waiting for? The hysterical banter between all the characters and the sexy chemistry between Ryan and Tessa makes this story a page turning joy to read.
I want to be a part of the Morgan Mafia!!!
This is the story of Ball Peen Hammer’s older brother (Dang how I loved that book). Eventhough the books are connected, they are in no way alike.
Where BPH was all about the crazy fun banter, this one is about crazy desperate emotion. It is still a romcom, no doubt about it, but the feels, oh my jeez the feels…
I have a newfound appreciation of the sexyness and romance within the power point presentation. You rocked me with that one Lauren Rowe.
Anyway, if you haven’t clued in yet. I freaking adore this book. I actually ended up pacing myself, reading a bit at a time, because I didn’t want it to end. This has never ever happend to me before…
I found me a new 1-click addiction.
When I received Captain, I had a lot of expectations for what was going to happen. Let’s just say that it didn’t live up to my expectations … it exceeded them.
Ryan Morgan is from the Club Series, but you definitely don’t need to be an expert to enjoy this book. I, personally, have never read that series and SERIOUSLY enjoyed this book!
This book has a bit of everything. At the beginning there is that insta-love, hot, fire connection — the kind this girl dreams of feeling But then … well, it doesn’t exactly stay that way. The story takes a turn more towards hate, rather than love.
Now, deep in my heart I just knew they HAD to find their way back to love, but the story definitely runs the gambit of emotions while taking you down that road.
Let’s talk feels. I had EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I laughed OUT LOUD (like deep down in your belly laughs), swooning, butterflies, aggravation, hotness, passion, and a smidge of aggravation (I truly wanted to knock some sense into them!).
Overall, though, this book delivered all the things I wanted. I’m pretty new to Lauren Rowe, but each time I pick up one of her books, I’m always awed by the story, characters, and feelings she is able to create with her words.
This is definitely a must read for 2017. If you’ve never tried Lauren Rowe, you could definitely jump right in. You might even be tempted to try more
Fantastic story continuance or prequel or sequel to Lauren’s other books that feature the faraday brothers and the Morgan family. I loved Ryan and tessa and having another look at the cast that makes up the two families. I so so so want more… I want to read Colby’s book, Dax’s book and yes I especially want ‘Choco nana’ Zanders book!!! And REEDS!!
I absolutely adored this book and could not put it down! I’m off to read more by this author..
I will cry about my fast reading remorse later.
Captain my Captain!
This book deserves so much more than 5 stars especially since we get to see a little of my favorite Ball Peen Hammer in there!
It’s not insta-love but it is major insta-lust and nobody does sex like Lauren Rowe! And it’s not just the hot sizzling sex, it’s the banter and jokes and the references to odd things like Moby Dick that make the characters in the story relatable. I love the feeling of being able to laugh out loud at a book and this one has all of that and so much more!
