After a terrifying encounter on the idyllic island of Capri, Lee Gallagher has no option but to accept help from a handsome stranger in a crimson Maserati. Sophisticated and drop-dead sexy, Rafe Sabbatini is a knight in shining armour fit for the 21st century. Lee’s a loner, and fiercely independent. She came to Capri to paint. She’s not looking for a relationship, and certainly not one that … that involves finding herself tied to the bed of a sensual Latin lover.
But Rafe proves hard to resist. He wants the shy English woman he found by the roadside and he’s determined to have her. She’s been hurt. She’s scared and alone but Rafe knows just how to get past her fears to release the sensual woman beneath.
Rafe’s practiced, knowing touch easily overcomes her defences and promises to fulfil all Lee’s fantasies. But even as she surrenders to the stern commands and dominant loving of this enigmatic stranger she has secrets of her own, and a past which is fast catching up with her. Can Rafe protect her when danger threatens their fragile relationship?

After escaping from an attack with a sprained ankle, Lee can only hope that she’s found by someone and not her attacker. After being told she was trespassing, by a stranger in a Maserati, Lee is given no choice but to try to make it to the main road, until the driver pulled up again and offered her help.
Lee can’t believe that not only is Rafe handsome, but he’s helped her so much, having a doctor attended to her ankle, organising replacement documents without even being asked, and she feels safe and a connection with him.
Rafe doesn’t know what it is about Lee, but he feels drawn to her, he knows she is hiding something and hopes that he will trust him enough to tell her, and he wants to show her pleasure. Although learning about her ex he knows he has to take things slowly. Lee can’t believe the pleasure that she feels with Rafe, and, surprises herself when they explore their desires more at a club.
When Rafe learns about Lee’s stalker, with the connection they have, and he doesn’t want to let her go he fears that Lee’s stalker will come back, and he will lose her before they’ve had a chance to really be together.
I was really excited about this book. It looked intriguing and just something I could sink my teeth into. At first, it was just that. A woman in need of help and an alpha male coming off helpful but wanting to let things happen as they happen. But somewhere in this book, it became slow and just boring.
Lee is the woman in need of help (at first) she is a strong character that has been abducted but gotten away on Rafe’s land. While trying to find help (which she does need at this time) Rafe comes across her and brings her to his home. After a while, Rafe finds out that Lee is hiding from a stalker that is crazy.
Rafe is a strong character, that likes to take charge in pretty much all situations. He doesn’t like that Lee is going through all of this and wants to help. I liked him and the way he handled Lee, but there was something missing. I can’t explain it.
All together this was a good book and I was happy to read it. I will read more of Ashe Barker.
Mystery, danger, and beauty abound…and Capri’s steaminess is beyond compare!
Capri…isle of contrasts, ancient history, and great beauty. At least that’s what Lee Gallagher thought. But being kidnapped, nearly raped, and barely escaping wasn’t what she had in mind for her impromptu holiday. Injured, stranded, totally alone on a deserted road, she’s alternately terrified and hopeful when she hears a car approach. Raffaele Sabbatini isn’t what she was expecting. Rafe is strikingly handsome, the sexiest man she’s ever seen. But with that beauty comes arrogance, indifference…and an order to leave his property. Leave? His property? She can’t even walk! Then he just drives off. Just when it appears fate has turned its back on her, she again hears Rafe’s car. Seems he may have a heart after all. Whisked off to the palatial elegance of Rafe’s home, Lee’s head is spinning from the trauma she’s endured and the third-degree from the local police, not to mention the magnetic appeal of her rescuer. But she came to Capri for a very specific reason…and it wasn’t to fall for the first sexy, dominant man whose path crosses hers. Getting pulled into a police investigation is ridiculous. It was just a random attack, right? The attraction pulling her toward Rafe? That’s even more ridiculous. But not all is as it seems. Lee harbors deep secrets. Soon her past comes crashing into the present with devastating consequences. Worse, no matter how much she fights it, the attraction between her and Rafe won’t go away. Events spin out of control, and mortal peril appears around every corner. Exactly who’s behind all this? And just how far will they go? As Rafe fights to win Lee’s trust, he too is put directly in the path of whatever’s stalking Lee. Rafe’s determined to make Lee his. But is he willing to pay the ultimate price?
This book is absolutely amazing! The stunning descriptions of Capri and Italy are worth the read alone. Ms. Barker always has the ability to take you on a spellbinding journey to any locale she writes about. It makes no difference where or when. Add in Lee and her boundless enthusiasm, determination, and deeply held secrets. Mix with Rafe, his dominance, innate sexuality, and over-the-top personality. Stir in the blazing sexual heat between the two. Weave in enchanted settings and beautifully crafted supporting characters. Blend with twists, turns, and a nonstop roller coaster of mystery, emotions, dominance, and submission. The end result is a bewitching story that is riveting from the first page! I fell so much in love with Capri. Rafe and Lee are absolute perfection. I actually read the book twice just so I could relive the adventure. That’s just how perfect it is! Capri Heat is truly HOT! Congratulations, Ms. Barker! You’ve done it again! This book is breathtaking in every way, and I can’t give it anything less than five stars!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
