Cap is the continuation of Sebastian and Maggie’s story from the series For The Love Of A Good Woman and the second book in the Reed Security Series. The Reed Security Series must be read in order.“Well, I could try, but with my sciatica flaring up, I wouldn’t get very far. Besides, Harry knows exactly where to touch to get rid of the pain,” she winked at him.“Eww. I forgot how much I hated … winked at him.
“Eww. I forgot how much I hated hearing you two flirt.”
“If that fella of yours ever ties you down, you’ll be us someday; humping like rabbits on your neighbors bed when she’s out of town because you just can’t help yourself.” He pulled Aggie over onto his lap and did something under the table that I didn’t want to think about. She squealed and batted at his chest.
“Oh, Harry. You’re such a devil.”
I looked back at my room and shivered in disgust. “I slept in that bed last night.” They didn’t hear me as they continued to flirt with each other.
“Dear, when the urge strikes at our age, you take it. Sex is like snow; you never know how many inches you’re gonna get or how long it’s going to last.”
“That’s..sweet, Harry. I didn’t know you had it in you.”
“Just telling it like it is, girlie. Speaking of the urge striking, I think we’d better leave, Aggie, or Maggie is going to see a bit more than she wants to. This robe doesn’t conceal much.”
Cap
My attraction to Maggie has never been the problem. Her inability to ask for help and stick around long enough to receive it is. Maggie is the type of woman that every man wants. She’s independent, smart as a whip, sassy, and stunningly beautiful. But all those things don’t make a relationship work and if I can’t figure out how to keep her, I’ll have more to worry about than the arms dealer that’s trying to kill us.
Maggie
“I’ve been wondering for the last year where my relationship with Sebastian is going. I picked up and moved my whole life to be with him, but then we never talked about more. I don’t know how much more I can take of always feeling like I’m just the live-in girlfriend. When he suggests taking a break, it starts to sound like an awfully good idea, especially now that I don’t want him to find out my secret, one that I hope he never finds out. The problem is, Cap never gives up without a fight.

Cap is the conclusion of Sebastian and Maggie’s crazy love story. The first book Sebastian in For Love of a Good Women series starts their relationship and continues into this book. I highly recommend this one and this series. This is the second book I have read in this series and both have been entertaining reads. I look forward to reading more in this series. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, danger, and heartbreak. Absolutely love Cap and Maggie they are perfect for each other.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
I enjoyed this book and author Giulia Lagomarsino did a good job with the storytelling. I liked the suspense and action that had me riveted from beginning to end. I have to admit I didn’t like Maggie the first half of the book; she seemed pretty selfish to me but the author did manage to make me like her in the second half. There was no doubt Sebastian and Maggie loved each other, but they had major communication issues and they really needed to take a hard look at their relationship. Their journey to HEA was definitely not easy but worth the wait. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Freckles and Cap!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance:
Heat/Steam:
Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The heroine: Maggie (a.k.a. Freckles) – Maggie used to be an investigative journalist but quit her job in Philadelphia to move in with Cap and work at Reed Security. However, she has been unhappy at the job and frequently she up and leaves to go out investigating.
The Hero(es): Sebastian Reed (a.k.a. Cap) – Cap started Reed Security after leaving the military. He met Maggie after the firm was hired to protect her when she was a reporter and her life was threatened. Cap is possessive and protective of Maggie.
The Story: Sebastian and Maggies story of when they met and fell in love was told in the series “For the Love of a Good Woman”. This book starts after the couple has been living together for two years and they are having problems. Maggie has some yearning to do investigative work like she did when she was a journalist but she also has a habit of getting into dangerous situations when she is out on her own.
Cap has a need to protect Maggie and just wants to be with her when she goes out into situations that might become dangerous. However, Maggie feels like he and his guys treat her like glass when they are with her. She feels she can do it all herself. She hightails it back to Philadelphia to resume her life and figure out what it is she wants. Though since she could be in danger due to the last time she went off on her own, he sends one of his teams to guard her.
I have read the last 6 books from the Reed Security series, and I liked them so much I decided to start at the beginning and read the entire series. I love how Giulia Lagomarsino has great humor, a terrific romantic suspense storyline, some ongoing threads and a hot and steamy love story in each book. When I started reading at book 21 or so, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.
Each book can technically be read as a standalone, though there are some threads and references to things that happened in the past that I couldn’t wait to read about. Cap and Maggies story arc was one of those things and this book didn’t disappoint.
One of the things I had wondered about in later books was the panic room below Reed Security Headquarters. I wondered when the panic room was installed and why it was there and this book answered that question.
“They all made sounds of agreement and headed toward the vehicles located in the hidden garage off the panic room. There was a tunnel that let out in the woods about a mile from the Reed Security building. No one would be waiting for us because no one knew about the tunnel. It was one of the first features I had added to the building when I bought the place. Call me paranoid, but I knew there would be a day when we needed it. That day was today.”
The last 20% of the book was heartwarming, funny and hectic but it was terrific as well. I liked that there was an ending and not any sort of Cliffhanger. Though I will be moving right on to the next book in the series.
Sebastian is tired of Maggie running
They have been together for a few years but can and will they commit.
Will they settle down and finally realise they need and belong to each other.
Gorgeous, sweet, sexy.
Loved it can’t wait for more.
This is book 2 in the Reed Security series. Sebastian ‘Cap’ Reed is in charge of teams of highly trained security specialists, but not Maggie, his partner of two years. A passionate journalist, Maggie can also be impulsive & reckless. Both these strong individuals have a sense of what they want from each other-getting there is the hard part. There is no denying the love between Cap & Maggie, it’s more like working out the details in a fun & action-filled way. I was cheering for both of these characters but there was never a doubt that these two belong together!
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
At the risk of sounding like a fan-girl, I have to say that the Reed Security Series is addictive in its relaxed, irreverent, and in-your-face sexy style, and I LOVE IT!
Each book in the series builds upon the one before, and like all families made up of friends, the characters weave in and out of each other’s stories seamlessly.
In Cap (Reed Security #2), Cap and Maggie work through their relationship troubles by trying to avoid tackling them head-on, in typical Reed Security protocol. The result is a hilarious journey featuring horny seniors, an unexpected pregnancy, lots of action, and probably one of the funniest delivery stories I have ever read.
I recommend this series to anyone who needs to not take life so seriously for a little while; it is a great brain break!!
Cap (Sebastian) was fantastic and the continuation of his and Maggie’s story. I loved the push and pull between Cap and Maggie and they were perfect for each other. Their story is an emotional one with ups and downs, danger, suspense, and secrets.
4.5 stars
This is the second book in the series and it is the conclusion of Sebastian and Maggie’s story. As I did not read the original book, Sebastian: A Mystery Romance For Love of a Good Woman book 5, I recommend reading it first and then reading Cap to see how these two developed into their relationship. When it comes to this storyline, Sebastian and Maggie are on two different pages and in order to protect her, Sebastian decides that they need to separate. This leaves them both miserable but once the deed is done, Sebastian’s challenge is how to make her see that she needs to return home. However, Maggie is harboring a secret that she is keeping from Sebastian. This is one ride that reminds one of sitting on the back of the bus and jumping high every time the bus hit a pot hole. It pulls out all the emotions one can feel when reading. This is another exciting read from the Reed Security Series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
The second book in the Red Security series is one that I never imagined reading about the Cap himself. In Sinner’s book we see him as a tough boss yet to Maggie he is so much more. The chemistry and sexual tension is all there but what I loved the most about Maggie is she is no damsel in distress. Boy the things she does just gets Sebastian temperature rising lol in a funny and oh man hillarious ways. Maggie in some ways is wanting adventure and following her dreams even though her heart still wants Sebastian. Now this is a woman worth chasing and the Cap is always running lol. This was more than suspense but in my opinion full of comedy between these two. A great addition to the series and man cannot wait to see more of this team. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
Cap is the continuation of Maggie and Sebastian’s story. I loved them in For The Love of A Good Woman and that did not change in Cap. Now I have read several books in the Reed Security series and maybe out of order.
Maggie and Cap have a ton of issues. She’s headstrong and independent, he’s jealous and possessive. Cap wants Maggie to need him, and Maggie needs to be indepent. Their relationship is a constant push and pull. One never understanding what the other is fully thinking, because neither actually says it. These two were like two bombs going off.
“It was quick, hard, and explosive, but then it usually was with her.”
The emotions I felt with this book I never expected. But Maggie and Cap deal with some hard, real life issues that just made me feel all the things. I’m not sure at all how I would have felt being either of them at times.
The laugh out loud moments are exactly what I love and expect from Giulia Lagomarsino and the Reed Security Series. The group of characters she has created just makes the series what it is. But don’t think the action and lol moments stop her from adding all the hot and steamy scenes we love, because there are still plenty. Lagomarsino gives us this perfect mix of everything.
Cap and Maggie are an amazing 5 star read that had me on the edge of my seat. I could not get enough of them. It didn’t matter if they were fighting or kissing I needed it all.
The chemistry between Cap and Maggie is incredible. I didn’t read For The Love of a Good Woman which is where their story started but I didn’t feel like I missed anything as what was needed to know was explained. I did have a bone to pick with Maggie at times as I didn’t feel as connected to her I wanted but the story flowed so well and Cap more than makes up for it.
Wow, this book was interesting. You need to read Sebastian in Love of a Good Woman to get to know this couple. I wasn’t sure if I could stand Maggie after some of the things in this book, but she won me over. This book had some hilarious moments and intense moments.
I come to love Maggie and Cap together, they had to fight through a lot of shit to stay together because of things each other did. But they had a love so great they over came it all.
If you want action pact books with laughter and romance. This series is for you.
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and is Cap and Maggie’s story. Let me just say that Sebastian (For the love of a good woman #5) should be read first as this is a continuation of their story. Cap aka Sebastian is the owner of Reed Security, and he loves Maggie but getting through to this feisty, independent, and stubborn woman is something else, as they are both headstrong. Will these two learn to compromises to have a relationship? This is a well written story which is intense, emotional, and humorous, and I was totally captivated throughout this engaging story. I recommend for all readers, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author.
We get to follow more of Sebastian and Maggie’s story in this book. We see and understand more of why their relationship has become what it is. We learn more of what each wants/doesn’t want. The trials that everyone has to endure makes things very interesting. We meet Hud, aka Knight. Who is he? Who from Reed Security knows him? How? What does Knight do now? What happens? What is going on with Maggie? This book made me cry several times. Oh gosh, I could not stop laughing at the end!!! Read and see why!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
What happens when the woman you love is tends to find trouble wherever she is??? Cap and Maggie’s story ends in this book. They finally get their HEA, but not after some drama and a mystery that Miss Maggie couldn’t pass up. The love of a strong woman is what Cap needs and he definitely gets that with Maggie. I’m glad they both realized the whole push and pull relationship they had was not really working. Also loved the fact that they both realize they need each other. They are each others yin and yang a perfect match in every way.
I received an arc, and am voluntarily leaving this review. Another great story in this series. This was a great story, one with a lot of emotional twists and turns. I couldn’t put it down. You won’t regret reading it. I highly recommend it.
He always had a thing for her but he knows he cannot take that step at least not yet. She moved with her boyfriend but it seems not to be working besides she had a thing for Cap. Can they work well together? Can they finally get together? See what will happen
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Alpha male and a woman with a radar that attracts trouble. Cap and Maggie were a couple but things are not working tight now. Maggie moves out and they both suffer. Their relationship causes drama among the friends and things are strained. This has emotion, action and some real life decisions that couple face all the time. When things go sideways, can Cap and Maggie compromise and get their HEA? It a long twisted and bumpy ride.

The plot was well written and well planned and the characters were so well fleshed out that I was totally glued to my kindle until the very last page!
