I lucked into the perfect roommate this year: pretty to look at, eager to please, happy to do any and every damn thing I want, sometimes even before I know I want it. And even though I’m here on a football scholarship, not some kind of brainiac academic one like he is, I’m still smart enough to know I shouldn’t mess with a good thing. It’s why I gave myself one rule: hands off pretty little Sean … little Sean Cabot.
I mean, shouldn’t be too hard, right? There are plenty of other willing twinks available to keep me happy this year, so there’s no need to obsess about the only one I told myself I can’t touch…
CAN’T TOUCH is a 54,000 word gay college romance between a cocky jock and the sweet, sheltered boy who just wants to be good for him. Read it if you like bossy jocks, boys who like it that way, unapologetic power imbalances, and a hefty dose of praise kink. Pass if that’s not your jam or you’re looking for something deep, dark, or angsty.

Can’t Touch by Chara Croft is a fast paced, sweet MM read. The story focuses on room-mates Tyson and Sean. Tyson is a confident, cocky jock who has a perchance for Twinks and especially that of his twink room-mate Sean. Sean is shy and sheltered but nothing makes him happier than looking after the domineering Tyson. The story focuses on their changing relationship with Tyson’s realisation that he has deeper feelings for Sean whilst Sean opens up with his feelings and fears to Tyson.
There are some triggers in this book, especially from Sean’s POV which might be difficult for some readers and there is definitely a lot of kinky moments between both characters. At the start Tyson is a difficult character to like, mainly due to his overzealousness about telling us about his conquests, but throughout the story he does change, and you can definitely see his feelings for Sean are pure and run deep.
Sean was a quiet character and after everything he has been through, you see why. It would have been interesting to see the men’s lives down the road since this is based on a college experience, but overall, a sweet a sexy read!

Absolutely addicted.
If you want sizzle and some filthy men – look no further. You won’t get a hotter book with a mega alpha male who completely dominates a needy boy he absolutely shouldn’t touch!!
And if you want an extra element of heat – try the audio, so you can have Michael Pauley growl dirty words in your ear!
While I enjoyed this book overall, I really couldn’t stand Tyson most of the time. He was a huge man-you-know-what at the beginning and I usually hate reading about how the main character has slept with so many people before finding “the one.” Even after he was with Sean, all he kept thinking was that getting himself off was the priority even though he still felt the need to take care of Sean. I don’t know… it just rubbed me the wrong way at first. It’s just my personal issue, though. He did get better after the first half of the book.
Sean was super innocent and I don’t usually care about that so much, but he couldn’t even say other words for the male parts, for pete’s sake! He could only use the word “thing” and not even say it out loud, only think it to himself. Hah. It was kinda funny though.
Anyway, I still enjoyed the end and I do think that Tyson is really good for Sean. And I guess Sean was made for Tyson in the way that Tyson wants to be in control and Sean wants to do anything to please him. So I guess it works out for them?
3.5 because I didn’t enjoy this as much as Chara’s other books but I am still glad I read it. I’ll still one-click her books any day.
I listened to this in audio first, so this my audio review..
Why did this sit in my Wishlist for so long?! This may be one of the hottest audios I’ve listened to in a long time! Michael Dean did an amazing job narrating this! At times I glanced at myself in the rear view mirror and found myself blushing! Michael pulled me totally into the story and I’m actually sad it’s over. Not only because the narration was so great, but the storyline was totally on point for me. This checked all my boxes: college age, first times, roommates, and the jock and the quiet guy. Holy hotness ya’ll, the sexy times were epic. The chemistry between Tyson and Sean was just everything. I absolutely recommend this audio, I know it will be a re-listen for sure!!
Tyson and Sean were so hot together. There were certainly times that Tyson’s ego could have been overbearing, but when you remember that he is a college aged jock, you just kind of take it as it comes. We got some back story for Tyson, but not a whole lot. We got a little more for Sean, a backstory that made me want to hug him so much. Tyson was definitely *ahem* experienced with men. While that doesn’t always endear me to a character, I thought that the sheer innocence of Sean needs someone like Tyson to take the reins and show him the ropes. Sean was adorably innocent.
There was certainly a lot of inner monologues for these guys, but the extra smutty dirty talk made up for it, in my opinion. I loved this book and I’m so glad I took a chance on it. I feel like there is so much more of the story to tell and I’d definitely read it.
This story is totally heartbreaking for the most part. Sean has been an abused child. His parents (at least his mom) is beyond controlling. The things that were done to him is unbelievable. When Sean’s roommate Tyson finally notices him life changes. Tyson is the jock who appears to be the typical player until it hits him Sean is perfect. Actually Sean is in need of someone to actually care about him. Tyson enjoys being the dominate and steps up to look out for Sean. There is plenty of hot sex. Plenty of emotional issues. And a story that completely held my attention from the start.
Hot and smutty with characters I adore. I love this book, but be warned, this is a sex heavy book with a loose plot. I was more than okay with a loose plot because the sex was so good in this book. Tyson is a hot, dominant jock who is obsessed with his shy roommate, Sean. There is a plenty of hurt/comfort, sexual tension, and D/s scenes, all of which I thought were well done.
Overall Rating: 4.25 Stars. I loved this book because it pushed all my buttons in all the right ways. I love overly protective Doms with their sweet subs, which both Tyson and Sean fit. I thought the writing was good, and it was easy to read. This is a smutty, delicious book.
