(A standalone Mirror Lake Christmas novella) Here comes a charming standalone Christmas novella by Amazon bestselling author Miranda Liasson. Fans of both Mirror Lake series will recognize familiar elements and people along the way. It’s two days before Christmas and bestselling children’s author Grace Alberts needs to fulfill a promise—to make it to a book signing for the kids at the Children’s … at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the place that did so much for her during a very rough time. But the weather’s getting awful and all flights are cancelled out of Boston, where she’s wrapping up her book tour. Then in walks her annoying but extremely sexy ex-husband, who (as usual) thinks he’s got all the answers.
Graham Walker just stopped by to get a book signed for Grace’s biggest fan, his niece, and wish Grace a Merry Christmas—why not? But he soon finds himself troubleshooting her dilemma. He’s got a Range Rover that can plow through a hundred-year Nor’easter. He’s even headed home to Philly. Trouble is, Grace’s and his past is a disaster, something he has no intention of reliving while driving through a winter storm, no matter how much he once loved her. And maybe still does.
Bad weather has a way of bringing out the best and the worst in people, and when a run in with some deer antlers leads them to a forced stop in Mirror Lake, Connecticut, anything can happen, naughty or nice. Maybe a bit of enforced alone time and some Christmas magic can be just what it takes for them to face their past—and each other—once and for all.

Can’t Miss Christmas by Miranda Liasson
Graham Walker and Grace Alberts gave up on one another two years ago BUT when Graham goes to get a book signed for his niece Grace and he realize that the flames of their love have been banked but not put out forever. With a drive that hits a big bump, time together and some soul searching they are given a second chance at love that hopefully they will take advantage of.
Sweet story that I would like to thank Barclay Publicity for…and…I do want to know more about this author and about Mirror Lake and the series set there.
3-4 Stars
Christmas is a time for believing in love and hope, and this story will give you feel good vibes! Graham Walker and Grace Alberts have a past filled with love, heartache and pain. As they travel together to “not miss Christmas” can they find it in their hearts to move forward, and take a second chance on love.
A beautifully written story about hope and love with a little tease about the last Spikonos brother. I love the glimpse we get of him.
Graham attend’s a book signing of his niece’s favorite author to get her a book for Christmas. The author, Grace is Graham’s ex-wife.
A snowstorm has other plans for these two. It gives them the opportunity to talk and clear up some unresolved issues.
They realize they still have very deep feelings for each other. A tragedy torn them apart in the past. Can they heal and have a future together or do they forgive and move on…
This is a wonderful, warm, secondary chance at love.

He feels the strong pull to see her he ends up in the store. After hearing she is stranded he decides to offer her a ride as they are going in the same direction for Christmas.
Can these two find a way to heal the past and move forward? Will they find that the love they once had for each other is still there and find their HEA or will they just continue not to communicate like they did before?????
I received a copy of this book from the author for a honest review. I was not compensated or required to give a favorable review. This is a beautiful Christmas Novella. When 2 people fall in love young had have the tragedy of the loss of a child can put many strains on it. She becomes a successful children’s author and he is doing well with his business. They haven’t seen each other in 2 years. But by chance he walks by the bookstore she is doing a signing at. He knows his niece loves her books. She needs a ride to Philly, because the planes are not flying due to a really severe snow storm. He offers to give her a lift since is going to see his family. A storm bring 2 people back to each other. For good or is it just to say “I’m Sorry”. This is a beautiful read.
For such a short story, Can’t Miss Christmas leaves a lasting impression. Mirror Lake is the place where hearts go to heal and miracles happen. It is a place where hope thrives and faith has no boundaries. A place where love is the cornerstone of the community and it’s every changing residents. It is also the setting of a new beginning for two former spouses. Young love brought them together, tragedy ripped them apart. It will take a sprig of mistletoe, a snow storm and a chance encounter to reunite what grief splintered in two. Ms. Liasson is masterful in appealing to the inner workings of the heart. She captivates the soul with her emotional stories and her fascinating characters.
A feel-good Christmas romance story in a novella length perfect for today’s busy reader.
Grace and Graham have divorced after experiencing unprecedented pressures and terrible tragedy in their lives. Fast forward a few years and Graham happens to be in the same place as Grace at Christmas and they end up stranded together in Mirror Lake due to weather. The couple are likeable characters that you can’t help but root for – they obviously still have great chemistry but need to work through their unresolved issues and fate provides them with the opportunity. The pace of the book moves quickly and there isn’t a lot of background filler, but it works for the story and you are left at the end with a wonderful, sappy Christmas smile on your face!
Note: I did receive an ARC of this novella, but my opinion is my own honest opinion and completely voluntary.
