The Gentileschi Sisters are daughters of a king, princesses who come to the U.S. to pursue their careers and fall in love with seemingly unsuitable men.At a Major League Baseball game, the stray pop-up ball is aiming right at neonatal nurse Evvie Gentileschi and hits her foot. Writhing in pain, she allows a complete stranger to help her, but she’s stunned when she discovers he’s the very batter … very batter who caused her injury. She has no idea one foul ball will change her life forever.
Star player Mike “The Jag” Jagielski leaps over the dugout, climbs into the stands, scoops up the woman his ball hit and carries her to the medical tent. And damned if she doesn’t turn out to be a smart, witty and surprisingly sensual woman. But there’s no way he’ll let her alter the course of his future.
Despite their protests, the princess and the ballplayer fall madly in love and lose all control of over what comes next.
The glamor of Major League sports and the inner workings of a NICU are the landscape on which the two radically different people struggle to make an impossible relationship work.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
What a great addition to the series. Each story is so enchanting. The series is about 7 princesses who come to America for different reasons and find love. In this one, Evvie and Mike journey through several pitfalls on their way to their HEA. The journey is tough on the heart but it helps them to see that true love is worth it. I adored see all of the princesses in this story and catching up with those that have already found their HEA.
The plot is endearing and one that I quickly consumed. I adore Evvie and her love and compassion for others. Mike was one that took some getting used to. But Ms. Shay did a fantastic job in making him more understandable once his background was revealed. This book has my favorite dual POV format. Being about to see what the character is thinking and feeling helps me to better understand the character’s actions and speech. This was especially true in Mike’s case.
I so highly recommend this story.
A bump on the head becomes a shot to the heart for the star athlete and the hidden in plain sight nurse. Can’t Help Falling in Love is a modern fairy tale with hard hitting romance and emotional drama. Mike and Evvie begin with a gaff that has lasting results for the rest of their lives. Will their foray into romance survive the secrets that they hide? Shay chose the perfect title. I Can’t Help Falling in Love with these two.
Can’t Help Falling in Love. Katheryn Shay
Evvie had tended to a premie that died, decided.to escape and to grieve for a couple of days with Brie. The added plus was the rival baseball teams playing and she was going. Wayward ball and Evvie ankle is hit. Guy comes hot and sweaty and picks her up. Speakers announcing for Mike to come back to the game. He felt bad for he was the one who hit the ball. Going later to check on her and her sister already came and picked her up. Noticing her purse, he grabbed it and left. He plays baseball and she buys season tickets, a good beginning for love. You will love the story, the love for Evvie and Mike, though from different life styles make it work.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
We are back with another entertaining story about the Gentileschi sisters. Seven princesses from an island off Italy who have come to the USA for education or achieve other accomplishments. Two have found their HEA and now it just might be Evvie’s turn. She’s a neonatal nurse whose form of relaxation is going to baseball games. When she goes to unwind after a tough day at work, little did she expect to be hit by a baseball and then rescued by “prince charming” aka Mike ‘The Jag”. A star player of the opposing team she went to see.
Their first few encounters were less than stellar . But as usual , what you see in the exterior is not what really is in the inside. Their relationship is full of ups and downs. Will they get their HEA or will past promises and beliefs separate them forever?
The story had an engaging plot with complex characters. If like me you enjoy baseball, it will make this one extra special.
Looking forward to the next story of these sisters.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I enjoyed this one. I was drawn to this book because Mike is a baseball player. His back story really hit me in the heart and to see what he is doing to help others warms my heart. It’s a nice fast read that does pack in the feels. I really like how close knit Evvie’s family is. This was an easy read that I gobbled up.
