Can’t Help Falling In Love by Erika Kelly was such a sweet and charming second chance romance with all the best feels and some amazing characters. Beckett O’Neill is retired and ready to just enjoy himself. Imagine his surprise when he runs into an old one-night stand, Coco Cavanaugh, and meets his daughter for the first time. I loved Beckett. He may not have been exactly ready for Coco and Posie but watching him fall was everything. Coco has been used to doing it all on her own, can she let Beckett in? She was strong, independent and determined.
Beck and Coco had chemistry and a definite connection, but can he stay and be the father Posie needs? I do, however, have to note, a lot of the times Posie just stole the show. She was adorable and delightful. Such a sweet and fun story I lost myself in. Though this is part of a series, I was able to read and enjoy as a standalone.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading
I loved this second chance/secret baby romance! This is the first book in the Calamity Falls series I’ve read but it won’t be the last! I want to read the others to catch up on all the characters! I loved Coco and Beckett! The little fairy Posey was adorable! I just loved her! Watching Beckett’s journey to figure out what he really wants for his life was fantastic! This story captivated me and kept me reading until the end!
Wow! What an ending it was! Can’t Help Falling In Love was such a great book! Everyone needs to read this book so you can enjoy it too!
This is the sixth book in the Calamity Falls series and it can be read as a standalone. Beckett is a retired professional extreme sportsman. He developed an app for planning extreme tours for people. His fiancée is pushing him to get married on a glacier to promote their business. Coco is a chocolatier in the town where Beckett arrives and when they accidentally run into each other, the sparks are reignited from their initial one-night stand six years ago in Vegas. Can they pick up where they left off? How will Beckett react when he realizes the secret that Coco has withheld? What comes first, business or love? This is one fast paced read filled with warmth and characters that will pull at any readers heartstrings. I highly recommend this book and am going back to read the rest of the series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Reading this book gave me all the feels! The story is full of unconditional love, overcoming fears and the sense of family every person should have in his life! This was my first book from the author and I really enjoyed it! I feel like I need more of “Calamity Falls” in my life!!
Beckett and Coco first met in Vegas 6 years ago. The chemistry between them was undeniable and they spent a night together. Unbeknown to them that night they created something special! The next morning Coco left, and they’ve never seen each other again until today. Coco has her life together being a business owner and a full-time single mom to an adorable little girl, Posie. They only thing she has to remember Beckett is her little girl, until he shows up at Calamity Falls for a business arrangement. Feeling guilty about keeping Posie a secret she tells him that he has a daughter.
The most interesting thing for me was seeing Beckett getting to be the best dad. Although demons of his past keep him scared, from the time he sees Posie he can’t help but fall in love with her. He never thought he’ll have a daughter, especially one who thinks she’s a fairy! His feelings and fears are apparent, as well as the still palpable attraction between him and Coco. I really loved these three and I was so happy to see them finally become a family!!!!
Beckett and Coco stole my heart.
“They’re everything he never wanted.
He’s everything she didn’t think they needed.”
That basically sums up their relationship and life. Not what they were planning for but everything they both need. Their daughter stole the show but it was their struggles, growth, and ultimate love that made the story. I couldn’t put this down.
One Random Night in Vegas leads to the greatest love.
I loved everything about this book. I loved all the characters from Beckett, harden I don’t believe in love, to single mom, small business owning closed off Coco to a fairy believing five-year-old who will steal your heart! I can not gush enough about how spectacular I thought this book was.
A couple of business things about the book to clear up. I read this as a standalone. This was my first-time reading Erika Kelly. I love her humor and writing style. I loved the voice she gave to her characters. I had a small moment in the story where I thought she was going to quote an old stereo type and I thought I was going to have to break up with my new found love, but she didn’t. She gave a voice to not only Beckett as Posies’ dad but also to every girl who needs to hear that love is not shown with cruelty. Coco’s light bulb moments were profound and something I could absolutely relate to. There was just enough peak into both Coco’s and Beckett’s past to give insight to their hang ups with out it being heavy.
I would like to state for the record again, typically I am not a fan of second chance romances, but I love a secret baby. I know that does not make sense. Can’t Help Falling in Love is the perfect example of a great second chance romance. This isn’t a situation where the couple has a long drawn out past filled with miscommunications and mistakes. This was a fun night with a random hook up that resulted in a baby, and a chance encounter brings them back together. I love the twist of fate and it was done so well in this story.
This was a 5/5 read for me. While it wasn’t important to the story or its readability, I wish that Coco had shared her light bulb moments with her parents. I think it would have added to the depth of the relationships in the story. But over all it was Fantastic and Beckett has earned a place on the Book Boyfriend Shelf.
I absolutely loved this second chance romance. Coco met Becks met years ago in Vegas. They spent one incredible night together and went their separate ways. Now six years later Becks shows up in her hometown and she’s shocked, to say the least, as she never expected to see him again. She knows she has to explain that she tried to find him, to tell him about his daughter, Posie, but with them not exchanging full names it was an impossible task. I absolutely loved Coco and Becks, and Posie is just adorable. I loved watching the character development of Becks and how he realizes what’s really important to him. This is definitely a must read and one I recommend.
Y’all I adored this book. The heroine is a chocolatier, and the entire book is TOO SWEET for words! I seriously wanted to wrap Coco, Posie, and Beckett up in a cuddly blanket and bring them home with me. The story is full of in depth characters that are the signature of Erika Kelly’s style. Her characters will absolutely work their way into your heart and stay there.
For the second time in 2 weeks I have run into a heroine that I wasn’t a big fan of. Please don’t get me wrong. I liked Coco. But her “I can do it all on my own, I don’t need anyone’s help” attitude bothered me. Especially when she had an amazing support group. Some people don’t have that and it bothered me that she found herself so lacking that she had to prove she didn’t need anyone. Talk about a great way to push people out. I liked her strength and confidence. I just didn’t like how she kept projecting all her fears on Poisey. Kids are resilient for a reason.
Beckett was a decent guy. I loved how she handled the shocking news that he was a dad. Yeah his muddled thoughts about his job versus being a dad was bothersome. But I appreciated how he worked through it. I’m also glad he let Willow go. Getting married to enhance your brand is no reason to get married.
These 2 were great together. Actually these 3 were great together. They were what each other needed. You could just see how being united made them better. It was a ride to watch them grow and fall in love. But it was a ride worth taking. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Something about an Erika Kelly romance gives me the warm and fuzzies in my heart. Even through the inevitable heartache, I never lose that sense of hope I feel inside. From second chances to bad romances, there is always a sense of beauty in the recklessness. Coco and Beckett keep up the heart tingles with a love story that will leave you breathless. One night changes everything for two strangers looking to have a bit of fun. When the morning comes, the surprises roll in. Life moves on and heartbreak awaits, but can one unexpected twist help reunite these strangers in the night? Temptation packs a sweetly, addictive punch.
CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE is the fifth instalment in Erika Kelly’s contemporary, adult CALAMITY FALLS erotic romance series focusing on the people of Calamity Falls, Wyoming . This is chocolatier Colette ‘Coco’ Cavanaugh, and extreme sports athlete Beckett ‘Beck’ O’Neill’s story line. CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Coco and Beck) CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE follows the building relationship between twenty-seven year old, chocolatier Colette ‘Coco’ Cavanaugh, and extreme sports athlete Beckett ‘Beck’ O’Neill. Six years earlier, Coco was in Las Vegas, attending a concert for her rock star sister but a one-night stand left Coco pregnant and alone in Europe where she would work with a master chocolatier, starting our heroine on an adventure of a lifetime. Fast forward to present day, wherein Coco Cavanaugh has been asked to make the chocolate candies for an upcoming celebrity wedding at the Owl Hoot Resort and Spa but Coco never expected to come face to face with the man who had fathered her child. Enter Beckett ‘Beck’ O’Neill, the celebrity groom, and the man with whom Coco will fall in love. What ensues is the building friendship, relationship and romance between Coco and Beck, and the potential fall-out as Beck’s lifestyle and business are about to pull our hero back out of Coco and their daughter’s life.
Coco Cavanaugh never expected to ever find Posie’s father, a one-night stand wherein Coco ghosted the next morning. Never knowing Beck’s name or his business, Coco struggled to locate a man who was more of a stranger, than anything else but Coco never intended to keep Posie’s existence a secret, and with Beck’s reappearance, Coco struggles with introducing Beck to a five year old child, let alone introducing Beck as the child’s father. Beck’s lifestyle on the road did not make for a father who would remain in Posie’s life for very long.
Beck O’Neill and his business partners were doing well in the world of extreme sports and social media influencers, so much so that Beck’s girlfriend intended to make their relationship a focus of the business but Beck struggled with the idea of settling down, and in no way did Beck every want to start a family, let alone make a life-time commitment to a woman he didn’t love.
The relationship between Beck and Coco is one of immediate attraction; a palpable sexual hunger that ended with Coco’s disappearance the morning after. Six years would pass before out couple were reunited, five years of a little girl’s life that Beck would never have wanted to miss. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Coco and Beck’s daughter Posie; Coco’s parents, Tyler and Joss, her rock star sister Gigi, executive chef Lulu; as well as the Bowie brothers (Fin, Will, and Gray Bowie) who own and operate Owl Hoot Resort and Spa.
CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE is a story of family, friendship, relationships and love; a story of secrets and revelations; of heart break and acceptance. The premise is emotional and imaginative ; the romance is spicy and flirty; the characters are inspiring and sassy.
What a great story, I really liked this couple!
CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE is book 5 in Erika Kelly’s Calamity Falls series, in which she’s created a delightful world with a family feel that can so often be hit or miss in series romance. Kelly captures this time and time again, this time in CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE.
I always have the toughest time reviewing the books that truly touch my heart. I’m in that position again with CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE. Beckett and Coco shine, both as individuals on their own journey and as a couple destined to be. On a single night, in a hotel room in Las Vegas, Beckett and Coco begin a relationship that will change who they are, allowing them to open their hearts to those that love them.
What can I say about Beckett, other than the fact he is challenging Will Bowie for my favorite romance book boyfriend label? While I suspect that Ruby (Will’s little sister that he has custody of) and Posie have something to do with this-after all who can resist a man humbled because of a child-it’s because of how Kelly writes these men. When we meet Beckett, he’s newly retired after a phenomenal career as a snow boarder. He’s sexy, sweet, and fun as he sweeps Coco off her feet leaving her with a gift he won’t know about for years. But, after a childhood where he lost his beloved sister and was subsequently abandoned by his mother, Beckett is determined to lead a life without any commitments.
Watching Beckett fall in love with his daughter, Posie, was wonderful. Kelly handles him with such care as Coco acknowledges his struggle against every life lesson he’d been taught, giving him the space he needed to come to terms with having a daughter. I cried for him a little as he made his way toward forever with Posie and Coco.
Then there’s Coco, who I absolutely adored. I feel as though I say that about every Erika Kelly heroine, but it’s always true. Coco is independent, driven, and a wonderful mom. She loves her family fiercely but keeps them at arm’s length, choosing to get things done on her own. When Beckett shows up and turns her life upside down, she’s caught again in his web, but also frightened as she realizes her life-and Posie’s-is about to change.
Coco, too, had some issues she needed to work through. She’s always seen herself as the ordinary sister in a family of extraordinary people. She made her own way in life, never looking to her family to help out because (she thought) they were always caught up in their successful lives. When Beckett makes his way back to her, Coco realizes she’s been holding herself back with everyone and knows she has to take a risk both for herself and Posie.
Amidst all of this is a beautiful romance filled with chemistry and dawning recognition that they were meant to be together. Navigating an intensifying love for each other while trying to protect their daughter was written wonderfully. Seeing the two of them unwrap the feelings they were ignoring was sexy and swoon worthy.
Of course, at the center of this is Posie. Kelly slays me with her delightful portrayal of this little girl. Posie is smart and sassy and has Beckett wrapped around her little finger from the moment they meet. And, for someone so young, she’s almost intuitive, recognizing that Beckett needs to be handled carefully.
As with all the books in the Calamity Falls series we see the Bowie brothers and Cavanaugh family who play a vital role in the story, helping Beckett and Coco find their happily ever after. CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE is a perfect addition to the series and I can’t wait for more!
Thank you to the author for an early copy in exchange for honest feedback.
This is the 5th book in this amazing series and is Beckett and Coco’s story. While on a night out in Vegas Coco and Beck meet and are attracted to each other so they spend a night together, never realising what happens in Vegas does not always stay there. Now 6-years later Coco is the owner of a chocolate shop in Calamity, and Beckett and his fiancé have been given a free wedding in that town. Coming face to face Coco knows she must tell him about their little girl, but how will he react to this news? No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is sweet, and I was hooked and intrigued throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all readers.
After finishing this all I want is to eat chocolate that Coco makes.
The slow burn was sizzling and had me biting my nails with frustration when are they going to give into temptation. Beckett was struggling with his new role in life. It was breaking my heart how much he blamed himself for what happened to his sister and what was stopping him from giving himself completely to his new reality.
Both of them had deep and rooted fears that took some time to sort it out and when they did it was pure happiness and joy all around. This story was captivating for start to finish and I loved every bit of it.

This was my first book in this series, and I can tell you that I will be reading the other stories to catch up. I loved Beckett and Coco’s story! This is a second chance, secret baby story that captivated me from the first page. Watching Beckett grow to realize what is really is important in late was awe inspiring. Coco is a strong driven woman reading an amazing little girl. Posie of course steals the story and holds court with her fans. I really liked this one.
I fell in love with this story.
Can’t Help Falling in Love is the fifth book in the ‘Calamity Falls’ series by Erika Kelly. It’s a sweet, second chance romance with an adorable little girl who steals the heart of everyone she meets.
Coco Cavanaugh met Becks O’Neill in Vegas six years ago. They had a fantastic one night stand and her young daughter is the result. Becks never knew anything about the little girl as they never exchanged names or numbers.
Coco has trust issues, and she’s not alone. Beckett does too, and he’s in a relationship. Finding out he’s a father is a shock, to say the least.
But, that chemistry they shared six years ago hasn’t died and the more time they spend together the stronger the attraction gets. Can they make a go of it for real?
This was quite an engrossing story and I was soon caught up in it all. Beckett was a dreamy, hot guy, and Coco, the strong independent woman he needed all along. They were just perfect together. Add in charming, precocious Posey and it’s just simply icing on the cake.
Can Beckett learn to be a dad?
Beckett O’Neill was traveling the world and promoting his new travel app when he ran into the woman who he had a one-night stand in Las Vegas six years ago. Coco Cavanaugh didn’t know his full name, so she couldn’t locate him, so she moved on with her life to raise her daughter and make the best chocolates possible. Coco told Beckett that he was a father and that she just wanted to let him know about Posey.
Beckett must decide whether to be Posey’s dad or just a friend visiting for the summer but first he had to become Posey’s friend with no experience with little kids after the death of his sister.
Can’t Help Falling in Love is the fifth book in the Calamity Falls series but it can be read as a stand-alone without reading the other books.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Can’t Help Falling in Love by Erika Kelly my goodness what a charming story. This is number five in the Calamity Falls series but they can be read as stand-alone, I know this as I haven’t read any of the others and didn’t feel like I was missing anything when I was reading. Coco Cavanaugh and Beckett O’Neill will just warm you to the bottom of your heart, the each have a diffent struggle and this author manages to make you feel their pain, know how they struggle and the issues they need to face, it also makes you have the warmth when they finally realise that they can help each other, and the darkness when they realise that may not be enough. What is a life plan, other than something to follow at your will, maybe if these two realise that life will be more rainbows and fairies. I will admit all the way through this story I was craving chocolate, creamy smooth chocolate and I have to admit that I would love me some Elizabeth Taylor, rich and tasty. I will be picking up the rest of this series as Calamity just sounds like my type of place.
I loved this wonderful second chance romance. Coco and Beckett’s story sends you on quite the roller coaster ride of emotions. One night in Vegas has long lasting repercussion that neither anticipate. When fate draws them back together again years later these two have their work cut out for them. I really liked both characters. They each had their flaws and baggage that helped to make them realistic and relatable and don’t even get me started on the little scene stealer that was simply adorable This couple’s chemistry and attraction was strong enough to practically be tangible. It did not take me long at all to become totally invested in the HEA that this duo, no make that this trio so richly deserved. Just an all around really great read. I am freely posting a frank review.
