“Killed by a Candy Cane”That’s the scariest headline ever written in the Pine Grove Gazette. But this holiday season, it’s all too true…This killer has a sweet tooth. So the December air is crisp and a bit creepy this year. Red-faced children throw snowballs. Elderly couples drink hot chocolate in the cold. Chelsea and Miss May speed through town in their VW Bus, hunting yet another killer.Miss … hunting yet another killer.
Miss May is a sharp former lawyer, determined to make candy canes sweet again. Chelsea, Miss May’s Watson, just wants to solve the mystery without removing her fuzzy Santa slippers.

Christmas is a special time of the year Miss May and Chelsea! The farm is bustling with people getting their Christmas trees! The town of Pine Grove has people coming from far and near to see the famous Christmas tree lighting ceremony! Unfortunately, there is no tree, because of protests from Dee Dee, Miss May’s sister , about how trees shouldn’t be sacrificed for a few days display. If that’s not bad enough the hired Santa quits! If that’s not bad enough, Santa is found murdered! The mayor is distraught over losing the tourism and yet another murder in her quiet time. No worries Miss May, Chelsea and Miss Teeny are on the case! Perhaps the most difficult case so far as the murder victim wasn’t know to anyone in town.
This book had the usual adventure, drama and humor with a Christmas twist to it. I really love this book and this series! It’s a good quick read that lets you escape reality and Christmas drama for a bit. I always look forward to reading the book next book in the series! Highly recommend this book!

It was a small mystery with eccentric characters that were amusing and each had a story of their own .
I’ll never look at a candy cane the same way again! This was my first book I read from this author and truly enjoyed it. Love the cozy mystery team of Chelsea, Teeny, and Miss May and looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Funny. What one wants for a holiday yarn. This is not great literature…just fun.
Candy Slain: Book 6
Another great story from the Chelsea Thomas writing duo. Sometimes I have trouble picturing how a scene would play out and then I laugh at myself and remember, this Is fiction. Extremely entertaining fiction from some gifted, highly imaginative storytellers. The trio of zany (sometimes ditzy) amateur detectives, Miss May, Chelsea, and Teeny, are on another case. I am glad that the little town they live in is fictional. With its high rate of murder per capita, I would be afraid to walk down the street.
The story is filled with red herrings, romance, and of course mystery and intrigue. This was an enjoyable, well-written, fun, and easy read.
It felt like I was hanging out with old friends. Miss May, Chelsea and Teeny are so much fun, especially when they try to give reasonable explanations for what they’re doing! Miss May is their only voice of reason, but Teeny is coming up with some great ideas of her own for this murder mystery they are working on solving. Chelsea is getting a bit more romance in her life and even Teeny might be getting some of her own finally! Christmas is a good time for new things, too bad there was a murder to solve!

Funny! When Santa is found murdered, by a candy cane of all things, Chelsea and her cohorts investigate. And, of course, all manner of things happen. I love the books I’ve read written by this author. Keep in writing them, Ms. Thomas, and I’ll keep in reading them!
It is Christmas time in Pine Grove and the town is getting ready for their annual tree lighting party. Unfortunately the guy that is playing Santa Claus is found murdered by a candy cane. There are lots of suspects since he was not a pleasant man, but Dee Dee was the prime suspect since she argued with him and loves candy canes. Dee Dee is Miss May’s sister so the crew is helping the policy find the true murderer. Chelsea, Miss May and Teeny with the help of some friends are working through the clues to find the real killer. Fun cozy mystery with intrigue, a little romance, humor and some funny banter between the crew. This is a quick read with no cliffhangers, each book is a standalone. I received an ARC and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
This is a good, light hearted cozy. Miss May and Teeny are the best. Chelsea is a close second. I love the small town atmosphere and the locals are a hoot.

This series just keeps getting better! The characters are wonderfully funny and quirky. Germany Turtle does grow on you. This time the new town Santa is the victim but he’s from out of town and the girls have to do lots of digging to find out who killed him. It’s quite a ride, as usual. Always a good mystery and lots of fun too.
Best book yet by this author. Can’t wait for more! Love getting to know the characters better.
It’s Christmas time in Pine Grove, New York. The town is ready for the annual tree lighting and a new Santa Claus has been hired to be a part of the ceremony. Thank to Miss May’s sister, there is no tree to light. Dee has convinced the mayor that cutting down a tree is a bad idea. The dominoes begin to fall and stop with a dead Santa with a Candy Cane shaped stab wound.
I love this series! The characters are entertaining. They have developed over the life of the series. The setting is typical of cozies, a lovely small town where everyone knows each other. The plot in this book was paced well. I recommend this book.
Oh what fun, it is to read, a Christmas slaying book!! (set to song lol) loved it as always such fun stories!!!

This is another fun read in the Apple Orchard series. Miss May, Chelsea and Teeny are determined to find out who murdered Santa, and of course, humor and a little bit of mayhem follow along for the ride. I love that the series is still fresh with clever plots and quirky characters, especially the mayor. I highly recommend this book/series.

This was another great book in the series. Chelsea, Miss May and Teeny find them in the middle if another murder mystery. The girls must unravel the life of the guest town
Santa to figure out who killed him. The need to find the real killer is urgent to keep Miss May’s sister from taking the fall. The local police chief also has her eye on the amateur detectives. The ending was a surprise.

This is a fun and compelling cozy mystery with fabulous characters. I love the Christmas theme and I love Miss May and Chelsea. This book is well-written with plenty of twists to keep me guessing to the end. I am looking forward to the next book by this author.

This book follows the same trend as the others in the series with Chelsea, Miss May, and Teeny finding another dead body and being forced to become involved in the investigation when someone they know gets accused of the murder. It has a festive feel as it is death by candy cane, and there are imitation Santa Clauses involved. It is a fun, enjoyable read as are all of the books in this series. Teeny brings her usual humor to the book.
