Book four of the Beachside Books Magical Cozy Mystery series a murder mystery that kept me turning pages. An old love letter leads to murder can Paige a bookstore owner and practising witch find out who did it. Paige, Marco and the rest of the group made this a book I was not putting down until I had finished reading it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Once again I was not let down in reading a fun, quirky cozy mystery. You are kept guessing until the end. And while it is a standalone if you have not yet them you will want to check out the rest of the series. Visit Comfort Cove and meet Paige you will love it.

This was book 3 Beachside Books series. Technically it can be read as a stand alone, but I really wish I had read books 1 and 2 first before reading this, because at times I did seem lost. I’m not sure if I will go back and read 1 and 2 now that I know what they lead up to.
This book is written as a 3 person, single pov and does not end in a HEA or HFN ending.
The story mystery was good and I like the characters.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes

Candy, Carpenter, and Candlesticks is the fourth book in a series. It takes place in a small town of Comfort Cove. Paige is very busy with fixing up her home, her boyfriend returning from overseas and now, hidden love note in a book. But Paige can’t talk to the writer, as they are dead. She is bound and determined to bring the killer to justice. I like the characters in these stories. Things happen you wouldn’t expect, after all, it is a magical cozy story. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book form Booksprouts.

Can Paige Connect all the clues before the killer finds her? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Paige, bookstore owner and practising witch in a small town, finds a love letter hidden in a used book, she has no clue that it will keep her and the small town on their toes for quite a while, causing strife and possibly even murder.
Paige feels obligated to help find out, if the murder is connected to the letter or not.
An entertaining cozy mystery, with a touch of paranormal and romance mixed in. A nice bled, to keep the reader interested.

Paige finds a love letter that sparks her curiosity and, inevitably, sparks a murder. As the investigation heats up, some friends and neighbors become suspects. I enjoyed this novel and recommend the entire series.

An old heart stopping love letter, a newspaper reporter who cannot honor his friend’s wishes and publishes for his own good, a murder, are what the book is about. Even though it is Halloween and your new significant other’s first American Halloween. That will add some fun to the story.
Paige , I hope you never forgive the reporter!!!!!!!! In my book, he is responsible and in real life that is what I would do. But then again this is your story so at least make him pay for it!!!!!
Shame, Shame, …Shame reporter!!!
Marco love the thunder slip! with your permission, I would love to add it to my to use list. I now know what fairy floss is. Thank you.
This is an easy to read cozy mystery. Can probably be done in a day. There is enough for you to follow the previous books if you start here. However, you will definitely want to go back and catch up.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Another wonderful story to add to this fun series of standalone cozy mysteries. I love Paige, her bookstore, her attitude, her humor and her mystery solving skills. This is was a fun read that kept me engaged and wanting more. This story starts out with a bit of romance, in the form of a mystery love letter, and unfolds to another mystery with a satisfying ending.
This author knows how to blend her characters and plot into a seamless story that is fun and sweet, is snarky and witty. If you are new to this series you can’t go wrong with this story, but I will guarantee you’ll want more. I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.
I had never read any of this author’s books when I ran across this one, and I have been pleasantly surprised with it. It makes for a good cozy. The characters are likable, along with some humor from them, and the story itself wasn’t too predictable. All the way to the end there are a few prime suspects, and you don’t get vital information until almost the last page to help you guess who the culprit is. The story can be read as a standalone, although there is a tiny cliffhanger at the end that makes me want to get the next one, but it’s not a necessary part of the underlying story itself. I’ll definitely be looking for more books from this author.
Even though we’re several books into the series, it feels like Paige is still settling into her life in Comfort Cove. She has some new ideas for the bookstore, and a batch of used books turns up an old love letter. Things heat up when somebody connected to the letter turns up dead. The book is also about Paige’s relationship with her Italian boyfriend, Marco. When the book starts, he is still in Italy after his grandmother’s death; when he returns to Paige, they both want American Halloween to be special for him. Things certainly never run smoothly in this little town and certainly not for Paige. She seems to attract trouble, which of course is fun in a cozy mystery. I enjoyed the Halloween parts of the book, and I was amused that Paige was so happy about that holiday since she is an actual witch—even if no one knows that she is outside of her coven. I actually wish that there was a little more witchy-ness in this story, as I love paranormal cozies. As often happens in cozy mysteries, this book felt like it was more about Paige, her friends, and the community rather than the actual mystery. It’s a relatively short book, and in such a small amount of words, it is hard to get the balance between the cozy aspect and the mystery aspect. Still, I have enjoyed this series, and this installment was no exception.
Paige is looking forward to the return of her beau from Italy – he was forced to return after the death of his Nonna. She is also excited about the near finished renovation of the home her Auntie lived in. Finally she is excited to share an American Halloween with Marco.
First a mysterious love letter shows up in the bookstore. Then sneaky Sam puts it in the paper despite her request that he refrain. Chaos follows as anger and curiosity follow the letter. Property damage comes next, and the sudden death of someone connected to the love letter.
An interesting Halloween is mostly fun when not lethal. Paige seems doomed to trouble and a troubled love life.

I found this series with this book and I’m definitely going back to start at the beginning. The story moved at a good pace. I would of liked to of had more magic. Maybe that will happen as the series comes along more.
