Jude Knight gives us a sweet and heartwarming story of love, misunderstanding and second chances despite class distinctions, and inner turmoil. This is a charmingly delightful short story with endearing characters you’re sure to root for. I love the fact that Jude used the language of flowers in their courtship, it added to the charm. My only complaint, was that I wanted more and hated for it to end. Thank you so much Jude for such a delightfully entertaining story.
A short well-written wonderful story of two people having met years ago and given a second chance at love. These wonderful characters had been attracted to each other but had misunderstandings that pull them apart – instigated by a brother and sister pair. This nicely written story is sweet with very likeable characters, and some you want to really hate (but well-constructed). These characters have to find out the truth so they can have HEA. This is a nice sweet romance.

A wonderful story of two people having met years ago, being attracted, but as oft happens, misunderstandings occurred to pull them apart.
Minnie Bradshaw was of the merchant class, but had been successful at making wheelchairs for invalids. Her father was a carriage maker and her grandfather had made amazing saddles which were still regarded top notch. After meeting Avery, who was now a Viscount years ago and being very attracted, she thought she had overheard a terrible remark he had made.
Avery walked into Minnie’s shop because he needed a wheelchair for his mother. He could not believe it was the lovely Min from years ago.
A second chance maybe? Yes it seemed it might be, but you will have to read to see what happens. Jude Knight is an amazing story teller, who always draws me in quickly to her story. This is no exception and I could not help but admire Min and wait to see how Avery proceeded.
Do not miss this short story.. Loved it!
This is the 4th book I’ve read written by Jude Knight; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

When You Find Romance You Make It
ADULT Regency Era Romance.
Captain Randall Avery is sent home from the ongoing war against Napoleon, when his older wastrel brother dies. Now Rand is the Viscount of a crumbled empire. With a huge inheritance from his Uncle, too, he is able to begin restoration of the lands and homes of his tenant farmers, and also restore the family estate.
His mother is a paraplegic from the carriage wreck that killed his brother, and he wants her to be more mobile. He hopes it will extend her life for her to have a rolling chair, so she can participate more in the restoration of the estate gardens.
He goes to Minerva, called Min, a diminutive young woman who learned the carriage building trade with her father and mother. She has transferred some of those ideas into designing and making wheeled chairs for invalids, revolutionary at the time!
Rand had met her three years before, but she was too young to know her mind. This time she will be his, regardless of their disparate stations in life!

There is plenty of angst to go around in this well written holiday novella.
A lost love is found.
I am a little up and down with this one there is some historical facts that are not correct, but I found the tale entertaining and the writing well-done. Candle Avery is in need of an invalid chair when he runs into the chairmaker, who just happens, to be a lost love of his he knows the attraction is still there. I liked the Min character she has been hurt but it was a misunderstanding now there just maybe a second chance for her and Candle. This is a good holiday read the story is sweet. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Bizarre Little Story
I have read several of Jude Knight’s books by now, and I find them to be of variable quality. I found this book to be somewhat strange and was put off by it within the first few paragraphs. In that opening scene, the hero sees the heroine from behind as she is on a ladder reaching for something and makes not one, but two comments about her “delightful posterior.” Seriously. It gives the book kind of an ick factor that continued throughout the rest of the novella; the hero seems to be led more than most historical heroes by his nether regions. Even though this is supposed to take place in the early 1800s, the heroine seems to act and think more like a modern woman. That is definitely one of the dangers of writing a historical romance: giving modern sensibilities, thoughts, and actions to someone who lived centuries ago.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A short quick Christmas story to read. Of a second chance between invalid chair maker Miss Minerva/Min Bradshaw and Viscount Candle Avery, and the invalid chair for his Mother that brings them back together.I have looked at reading this story since it first came out and when I was offered a Arc of it I had to read it. I am very glad I did, I also bought as I will be reading it again.
Either it wasn’t very well researched, or the author took liberties with dates, but the story was well written. The characters were likable, except for the antagonists. All seemed realistic.
This one falls in that weird place between sweet and steamy. There’s too much talk and thought of body parts and the act of sex for it to be considered a “clean and wholesome” read, but the deed itself happens off the page after they marry.
Viscount Randall/Candle goes to the carriage shop to order a wheelchair for his mother where he runs into his old love Minerva/Min. It’s been three years since he saw her and she is as lovely as ever and since she is the one designer of the wheelchair they have to work together. She rejected him in the past thinking he may be after her money and at that time he was only a guardsman. Can Candle convince Min that he loves her?

This is a nicely written sweet story with very likeable characters, you just can’t help rooting for. Candle (Randall), Viscount Avery and Miss Minerva Bradshaw have a history. Once after meeting at a house, they were falling in love. Unfortunately, old enemies in the form of a brother and sister found a way to nastily pull them apart. However, love has a way of finding itself back together. So they meet once again when Candle needs her wheelchair making talents for his mother. Although Candle knows they are meant to together, Min is hesitant. He is a lord, she is from the trade class. Can they work out the issues keeping them apart? What place does the brother/sister duo have in trying to continue keeping them apart? This is an enjoyable read.
