Quick read, but the storyline is unrealistic with not much character development. It’s a cute little story to read in an afternoon, but that’s it.
What an amazing way to bring forth a sad truth and the answer without platitudes and rote answers.
Everybody has their own struggles and everybody has their unique way of handling them. What I loved about this story is that a huge amount of faith and prayer, not to mention the love and support of family, helped change the life of another, which set forth a series of chain reactions, all for the better. God was very much present in the pages, amidst a very common circumstance that affects a lot of people in everyday life.
Makes you realize there are good people wanting to help others in need.
Was not very creative or interesting
I love that it was a clean, Christian story! Beautiful story and wonderful author!!
I really enjoyed the book all the way through.
Calming the Storm is a sweet, heartwarming read. Brandon makes what might seem like a crazy decision to an outsider to marry Rachel to help her keep her niece, but it is not a decision he takes lightly or without prayer and seeking wisdom. Best of all, after they marry, he really sticks to his commitment to take care of and help Rachel. Brandon repeatedly demonstrates patience and selfless love to Rachel which helps in pointing her to the God that’s been there for her all along. I was blessed to watch as Rachel slowly responded and opened up to Brandon’s steadfast care. I also enjoyed seeing how Brandon’s family rose up to support both him and Rachel and Kendra. Great book!
Good read.
I recommend it very highly. Enjoyed reading it.
She wrote such a compelling story I bought more of the series…
It was a good short story. Possibly a bit contrived but that should be a given from the provided synopsis. Quick, engaging read with plausible character development.
A wonderful story of faith and hope.
Book was predictable but enjoyable. Showed how God’s love comes easier to some than others. Very sweet book and easy to read.
Well written
Such a great book. I loved that it was a wonderful relationship built on trust and respect, turned to love. A sad start turning into an amazing story of happy endings and the importance of family. Wonderful read!
I know I enjoyed the story, but I can’t remember what happened. I guess it was just that memorable.
I was drawn back to this book, making it hard to get my chores done. An easy read with great characters.
I’d never read anything by this author before. I was pleasantly surprised. This story shows the power of love and Gods love to change a life
