Callum MacRae is a man who seems to love what he does. Now he’s found a new obsession. He was an interesting man to try and get to know. One thing he’ll let you know loud and clear is that he’s very good at what he does. Giselle Walker kinda makes me glad that I don’t have sisters. I’m just glad that she has a good friend in Isla.
The author has grabbed my attention with how she’s gone about creating Giselle’s world. When you first meet her, you’re going to want to be in her corner – especially if you are one that’s always blamed for everything. Those scenes may be tough to read and have you reliving your own past. But if you were able to rise above that then you know there’s hope for her as well.
This book may have Callum’s name on it but my heart hurt for Giselle. Yes there are parts that were tough to read but I had to turn the page because I had the hope that her situation would change. This author does a fantastic job at creating plenty of characters to hate. These same characters seem like they would be perfect in a horror movie, American Horror Story, or in a nightmare. They almost seem devoid of feelings except when it comes to themselves. In their own way they like to torment their victim.
You will need patience with this one. The author takes her time in building her characters and her storyline. Callum is the man who is pulling the strings and in his own way he is forcing me to use my finger to turn the page. There’s just something about the way Ms. Mason created him that he became addictive. He also drops hints every so often and that just has me wanting to know what else is going to get revealed. You will see that Giselle lets us into glimpses of her past but knowing that will help you see into her present. And that’s another thing that carries me through this book – wanting to see if she’s happy when all is said and done.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
A new book in the Dark Romance series. You can read it as a standalone.
I am not going to talk about the story, because I don’t want to spoil anything, so I am just going to say that I loved this book. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I had to know what, who and why.
I have read a few books by this author and I love how she always surprises me with her twists and turns. I always have a “what just happened? But …” moment while reading. I don’t know where she gets these ideas from, but I am very happy she does and then shares them with her readers.
The characters are complex and layered and full of emotions. I really felt for Giselle and Callum.
I think I say this with each new addition to our happy little serial killer family but Callum quite possibly has stolen my heart!
Callum swore that one day he would have his revenge. Those who tormented him forgot him, left him to die, they would pay tenfold for their crimes against him.
How do I even describe Callum?
A tormented soul forever scarred physically and emotionally from the traumas of his past. Angry. Vengeful. Obsessed. Lost.
Callum for me was very multi-faceted. Unlike the others, his target was acquired through no fault of her own. She was a light that shown brightly next to his darkness. His need for her became an obsession and if there is one thing about Callum that is a given – He always gets what he wants – and he wants is his wild orchid.
Giselle is the definition of kind, sweet, forgiving and so full of light. She has been through the fires of hell and still occasionally has to douse herself in its burning embers to protect the ones she loves. When a sexy stranger offers her the chance to fulfill one of her dreams she jumps on it. Who wouldn’t her family was the picture perfect example of hell on earth. I will admit as their skeletons began tumbling from the closet I was shocked as h-e-double hockey sticks! Seriously twisted surprises.
I don’t want to give anything away because honestly, this is one read that will pull you to the edge of your sanity and leave you dangling with nothing but a silk thread to keep you from falling over the edge.
OMG….what a story. VF Mason has done it again. She gave us another psychotic antihero we had to love. Ever since discovering this author, I am always excited to read her new stories and I am never disappointed. Callum’s Hell was dark, engrossing and not at all what I expected. This story had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I was so engrossed in this couple I could not put it down. Giselle and Callum both had a hard life. This novel was told in both present day and the past and it was heart-breaking learning their story. However the two of them together was pure magic. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and sparks flew when they were together.
This story was well crafted and layered with flawed, complex main characters and a range of extended characters who you will both love and hate. You will be taken on a roller-coaster ride of emotions and the twists and turns will have you stunned and in total disbelief.
Callums Hell was a phenomenal read and I absolutely love it. I would highly recommend this novel to all lovers of dark romances.
The title says it all, this is all about the Hell that is Callum. So many times I was painfully breathless reading this story.
Callum is a dark, tall and sexy monster that has some very deep dark and haunting secrets. He knows exactly what he wants and will go to all costs to get his revenge without a hestation. Callum gives Hades a run for his money for sure. He is well known for always getting what he wants. He has his eyes set on his prize. Giselle is the opposite of him. She has a troubled family past, but she doesn’t let that stop her from doing what she wants. Her life, though not perfect, is not full of darkness like Callum’s. His darkness may not be able to let him get and keep what he most desires and needs, which is Giselle. Can Giselle handle and withstand all the Hell that Callum is?
This book had me hooked from the beginning. The way both POV’s were written slowly unfolding piece by piece not only kept me on the edge of my seat, but fully took me to Callum and Giselle’s world. This book had a little bit of everything that was dark, emotional, painful but it had lots of passionate heat as well.
I really enjoyed this book. This dark romance offers many twists and turns in a story line that is complex and engaging. I loved Callum and Giselle. To start you these two seem to be polar oppostes, and yet once you start peeling back layers you realize how much they actually have in common. I felt that this couple were two pieces of a whole. They fit beautifully together and made each other more. I thought that their connection was electric and the heat they generated blistering. There is content in here that will be turnoffs for some and triggers for others. So if in doubt, I encourage you to give this book a pass. This is my independent, impartial review.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
SHe knew no chaos….until I claimed her. She was a florist. He was a serial killer. She created beauty. He created chaos. She belonged to nature. He belonged to the underworld. She was an angel. He was the devil. She wanted to escape. He trapped her instead. They played a dangerous game with their lives at stake.
This is the story of Callum and Giselle. He is a serial killer and she has the ability to grow the most amazing flowers. However her life is not like i t may appear on the outside. She lost her mom at a young age and was sent to live with her grandfather who is horrible. However she has not idea that she attracted the attention of a serial killer. These two have some amazing chemistry when the run into each other or he offers her a job. I do not want to give anything away. I went into the book blind. I didn’t read the description. I don’t need to. V.F. Mason is a must read and I always know that whatever the story is it is going to be amazing. Nobody writes a serial killer book like V.F. Mason.
This is Callum and Giselle story and it is brilliant and heart racing, the characters are complex and so multi-layered but so beautifully flawed and I fell in love with them. They have an understanding like no other and it will break you hearing all the lies and truths and addict you all at the same time with their beautiful tortured souls god I loved every single thing about Callum even his twisted screwed up mind and believe me you don’t want to be on his wrong side cause he will take you down with no remorse what so ever. The story just flowed so easy and you get lost in it just brilliant writing and I was so excited to hear from the Four Horsemen exspecially Arson and Santiago love love them hard. Top read for me.
Callum’s Hell is one big as* rollercoaster of emotions! The author knows very well how to make you feel whatever the characters are feeling. And she knows how to make you fall in love with the most ruthless serial killer!
“We are like two lost souls, drifting in this world, not belonging to anyone, too afraid to give our love freely without facing the consequences.”
Callum and Giselle are made for each other! They complete each other and they understand each other!
“They say you have to wait for the right one to come along. I decided to kidnap mine instead.”
It’s a dark read, but not too dark. It’s also filled with love and hot passion!!

I have enjoyed all of this author’s books and Callum’s Hell is no different. This author is so talented in how she makes the reader fall in love with a serial killer. Callum is damaged. His past is heartbreaking and will leave you teary-eyed and/or wanting to give him a big hug. He is calculating in his plan for revenge and his feelings towards Giselle are borderline obsessive. This author has created a strong, sexy, well-developed hero that even with all of his flaws, I loved. Giselle is a likable, well-developed heroine as well. At first I wasn’t too sure about her given her initial reaction to one of her sister’s antics at the very beginning, but I she became a stronger character as the book progressed. There were parts of her story that made me really feel for her. Callum’s Hell is a dark romantic suspense with a unique storyline that will suck you in right from the beginning. It is fast-paced and full of secrets, action, and twists and turns. Trigger warning: there is child abuse in this book but I wouldn’t say it is too graphic. If you liked this author’s previous books or you like dark romances, then you will enjoy Callum’s Hell. I am really looking forward to this author’s next book – Arson’s story!
***5 Stars***
Have you ever wanted to kick your own arse and pat yourself on the back at the same time??
I have a handful of times and I’m adding another one to that list because I cannot believe I waited this long to read a book by VF Mason. I’ve seen her other books and waffled, but never took the plunge…until now and this book had everything my dark and deviant heart could desire and I want more.
First off..Callum and Giselle, I adored these two. I wanted to hug them while Gibbs smacking some sense into them. They are both survivors – in their own ways – and are good people, even if one’s goodness is much more black than white and when push comes to shove they do what needs to be done. As for their journey…it’s all kinds of chaotic, but the connection between them is nuclear and in the end they are the only ones who could give the other the love they both only ever dreamed about.
As I said at the start, this is my first read by the author, but most definitely not the last. I was hooked from the start and devoured all the words. The twists and turns were all kinds of dark and fucked up, but they made sense to me in the end. I think I should put here that the triggers are intense so, even I cringed and I can handle most things, you are warned. And then there are are supporting cast of characters. OMG I need more on ALL OF THEM. Well, okay not ALL, but the ones that matter…I just need more. Thankfully some have books out already *BSEG* so I will get my fix, but there are a bunch of others I cannot wait to get my hands on…so let the stal- *coughcough* following begin because I’m hooked!
Note: This can be read as a stand-alone

I loved the twists and turns throughout this book! Nobody writes serial killers quite like this author and I everytime I think I have a new favorite! I’m so looking forward to the next one to come!
This book pulled me in from the very start.
It’s raw,it’s gritty and extremely intense.
I loved Callum from the start.
Yes he’s a serial killer.
Yes is vicious.
But I didn’t care.
His story is twisted and complicated.
He’s also a man with morals.
You may think it’s a contradiction considering he’s a ruthless killer.
But you need to read his story to understand.
Callum is a very successful businessman and lacks for nothing.
Except his obsession.
Giselle.
Giselle,I loved that girl so hard.
She’s so loyal.
So selfless.
So forgiving.
All at the expense of herself.
Callum and Giselle together are explosive!
There is an undeniable chemistry between them.
Everything between them sizzles.
Their flirting.
Their disagreements.
It’s all a tightrope of feelings.
I loved this story.
It’s extremely emotional.
It’s extremely heartbreaking.
In some parts of the book I was silently crying and in other parts I was out right bawling.
You might be thinking why would I love the book that caused me so many tears.
Well because it’s also about finding peace.
It’s about finding some goodness where there was only darkness.
It’s about finding that one person in the world who will love another unconditionally.
Ms. Mason deals an outstanding story,an outstanding plot and remarkable characters.
I love how she brings in previous characters from other books but they still tie in perfectly with this one.
The way she wrote and delivered Callum’s Hell it was exceptional.
That jaw dropping twist that in no way did I see that coming was superb!
I can’t wait to read Arson’s story.
I don’t know how she is going to top Callum’s story.
But with how talented an author she is I have no doubt it’s going to be just as phenomenal.
I received and ARC in exchange for N honest review. V.F. Mason is the only author I know that can make a reader love a serial killer. This book was amazing!! I loved Giselle and Callum’s story. It was a tough one but as usual you get sucked in from the beginning with their story. After everything Callum was subjected to you really feel for him and I’m glad he exacts his revenge!!!I cannot wait for Arson’s Book!!
One author that knows how to make serial killers so hot, so delicious, so broken, so hard to let go….is V. F. Mason
Not to mention her man bun boys. Hot dangit this author sure know how to get to my heart with every single one of her books!
Callum is….a serial killer. Nothing to sweeten the fact. He is a cold blooded serial killer. He enjoys torturing his victims. Making them bleed. Begging him for mercy. Slow death until finally his victims beg him for death it self.
But his darkness come from a darkest place. I have to say from all of Ms. Mason’s books I’ve read, Callum’s Hell might have push my trigger limit.
Child abuse
So if you have the same trigger as mine, beware. Although the author didn’t do graphic details, but the words are there. My imagination going so vivid of how broken, and abuse, and torture and… My heart broke with every word for Callum and Giselle, specially Callum. It force me have to stop reading every now and then just to take a breath and remember this is just fiction.
But overall, as usual I love how Ms. Mason plotting. I really think Grandpa Walker need to be bury but then she put a Twist in the plot that just hinted along the way when you read it carefully.
I really love to girl slap Lucy, but Giselle prove that she do know how to stand for her self. Proud momma moment right there.
Love the chemistry and all the steamy scenes
Although I admit, I cried a little at their last “good bye”steamy scene
Beautiful dark heart broken and sexy love story once again, Ms. Mason
“In this twisted myth of his creation, no one got what they wanted, and that’s probably the most tragic story of all. ”
I’m in the state of shook right now. It’s two in the morning and I just finished Callum’s Hell by V.F. Mason. It was such a gripping romantic thriller that will capture readers in an intricate web of lies and deception. From the very first page, I was hooked!
Callum’s Hell is not a love story.
But a story of possession and control.
A king takes queen.
The devil himself will get what he desires most, and that is Giselle.
His Persephone.
Callum Macrae is a monster. A sinner of all of evil.
He is not a good man, but he will do whatever it takes to have the woman he desires most in his arms.
“Callum Macrae.
Wolf in sheep’s clothes?
More like the devil himself. ”
Betrayal. . .
Blood. . .
Sex. . .
Callum & Giselle are a force to be reckoned with.
This book was mind-boggling. A gripping angsty romance with a touch of darkness.
“I flick my fingers and knock two pawns from the chessboard, ready to strike again. By the time this is done, there will be no one but the queen left standing.”
You are not ready for this book y’all.
V.F. Mason is going to give you a run for your money.
I cannot recommend this one enough.
“Giselle Walker is mine.
My beautiful Persephone, who is yet to discover she’ll rule the underworld with Hades.”
