Jasper has always been my favourite character in the series and I never thought anyone could beat him, but Callum pushed him right out of the way. Callum made my heart melt and I became so enthralled in his journey to discover the secrets of his childhood and claim Isla that I lost track of time and I forgot about everything around me. I became happily lost in the Guardian Shifters world and was right there with Callum and the gang as they battled evil. For me, this is the best book of the series so far and I loved how KM Lowe kept throwing in surprises along the way. This 5 star read had me on the edge of my seat and left me wanting more. I wasn’t ready for the book to end and I could’ve continued to read for hours.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
Callum, book 6 in the Guardian Shifters series. It’s a story about the underdog Callum and his path to find love, and battling demons. With twist and turns you’re not going to see coming, this book will definitely keep your attention!
It’s a story I, and many other readers, have been waiting for. Who doesn’t love a underdog?!
Callum has been searching for his mate for a long time. He finds Isla. The couple have scars from their pasts but the love between them grows and is very real. Callum is loved by his pack as they come to aid him when he needs them. Will the couple be able to deal with threats to their relationship?
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
Callum may just be my new favourite of the Guardian Shifters.
Callum always follows is gut, so when he has a feeling something isn’t right about the young woman he saved at the council, he knows he has to find her and help. Not just for him but for his wolf too. He’s drawn to her, like he knows her but can’t place where from.
Isla isn’t happy in her pack and hasn’t been since her mother passed away, that’s when everything started to change. Going to the council to ask for forgiveness got her thrown in a cell. Luckily she was saved. Now she can’t stop thinking about the shifter who saved her.
With the help of his brothers, will he find the woman he’s been searching for and finally get the future he deserves? Or will memories and ghosts from his past stop him from finding his soulmate?
What does the Goddess have in store?
All I know is, nothing is ever as straightforward as it seems for these shifters. Twists thrown in to keep you guessing what will happen. A few shocks along the way when you least expect them. But most of all, the bond that this pack have is unbreakable – which pulled at me heartstrings and had me emotional a few times while reading.
Callum and Isla’s story is a brilliant addition to The Guardian Shifters series. I’ve loved every part of this series but I honestly think this is my favourite so far.
Callum realizes his wolf is very upset after the Council returned the refugees from their last mission. He thinks of Isla constantly, deciding she must be his mate, and finally decides to tell his brothers, Jason, Joel, Kevin, and Marcus he is going to go check on her. They decide to go with him taking their witch mates with them. What a great plot. Callum has a rude awakening. His powers are greatly diminished in the area they go to search. At an old abandoned cottage that is for sale, he has visions of himself celebrating a birthday with Isla as a young girl. He realizes it is a lost memory. Later he has a vision of baking cookies with a woman who is his mother. His mother is alive; he had been told both his parents were dead. Turns out that the house sits on a portal to hell and his mother is possessed by a demon. But that’s only part of the story. They have battles to fight and deadly wounds to overcome. It is sad that though they rescue Isla, Callum has no time for her or his mother. Will they ever arrive at a happy ending?
If you like Shifter Books with suspense, excitement and romance, The Guardian Shifter’s series is a Must Read. Ms. Lowe has done an outstanding job with the storylines, the characters and of course the road to finding their mates. I knew, from prior books, that Callum’s story was going to be a hum dinger and boy oh boy did Ms. Lowe not disappoint me. To see the enforcer, Callum’s, soft/vulnerable side when it comes to finding his mate was just phenomenal. But like things in the pack lately, nothing seems to happen easily and Callum finding and protecting his mate is no small feat.
I absolutely loved this addition to the series. It’s full of thrilling paranormal action as well as suspense and romance. The storyline flowed easily and held me to it throughout. I Highly recommend Callum. While I suppose this could be read as a standalone, for better enjoyment I suggest reading the books in order as they do overlap, beginning with Lisa.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for Callum Past & Present, Book 6 in a 10 star series.
