I r right in the action from the srart
Good read.
Historical, the characters and events convey a sense of how cruel the meeting of indigenous people in North America with Europeans really was. More of a young adult read.
Historicaly vorrect as far as i know
I would love to read more books with American Indian heratige stories .
It was good, right up till the end … which it never did. It just stopped.
Native Americans in the southeast run into early Spanish conquistadors. They learn to fight back, but are no match.
Not gonna follow the series. Fought my way through the first episode. Poor character devlopement.
story line was very interesting and different.
A little on the slow side moving to boring.
Good historical fiction, look forward to more books in the series.
thoroughly enjoyed the read
I just couldn’t read it. Too dark and slow.
This is a tragic tale of the Spaniards exploitation of several coastal American Indian tribes and the Indians demise through exposure to European disease, slave labor, misunderstanding and cruelty. The series of stories is told through the eyes of one Indian who is a survivor.
This historical novel gave me insight into the minds of the native americans who were captured and forced into slave labor by the Conquering Spanards who used the prtense of wanting to save their souls. Many of the good Catholic priests tried to help the Indians but were hampered by the Spaniards who just wanted to work them hard to dig up gold.
Fascinating creation of what life was like for native tribespeople caught up in the time of the Conquistadors. Brings to life a world we can scarcely imagine today.
Hard to get started, but once into it, it was a good read.
It kept my interest through the twists of fate for Calling Crow.
super read
