This is the first book of a series and it was a wonderful one. I easily got lost in the lives of Drs. Callie Parker and Robert Jameson. Callie is a small-town doctor that is giving so much to her patients that she has little time for her young son. Callie is a widow. She lost her doctor husband to cancer. Being busy at work was a great way to keep her mind busy and off the pain of losing her husband but now her young son is suffering from not having mommy around. Fortunately her Grannie is the mayor and hires another doctor to come to town and help out. Enter the handsome Robert Jameson. Robert has spent his entire career to be the oncologist at a large hospital in Atlanta. Unfortunately a mistake occurs and his career suffers. He doesn’t get the promotion that he was aiming for. His mentor recommends time away to de-stress and re-coup in the small town setting.
Callie is afraid to let go of Stuart’s memory. She also fears that Robert won’t stick around. She is afraid to fall for Robert in case he does leave and not only break her heart but that of her son’s, Ash. Robert on the other hand is leery of working in a small town. He was born and raised in a small town in Colorado. He swore when he left his family that he wouldn’t return to work in the small-town practice. He is eager to return to his field. That is his dream job. He has no business in falling for his boss.
The sparks between this two is very evident. Robert is kind and caring to everyone. He treats Ash as a person not a kid and scores high marks with Callie. Will Robert be offered another position in his dream field? If he does, will he take it? Will Callie lower her defenses and let Robert in? Will she suffer another heart-break of losing another man?
This story just drew me in. I adored the main and secondary characters (esp. Grannie and Ash!). I highly recommend this second chance small-town romance. It is a sweet, clean read that anyone would enjoy.
I found this to be a superb storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
First, I want to thank Allie Kincaid for providing me with his book so I may bring you this review.
Callie’s Second Chance for Love by Allie Kincaid is the first book in the Sisters in Bloom Series. I instantly fell in love with this book!!! This book must be submitted and made into a Hallmark Channel Movie!! It has everything they would want in a movie.
Allie wrote an adorable story. I fell in love with the small town, I wish I had a Doctors office like Callie worked at. She cared about the health and well being of her patients. Her bedside manner was incredible. The way she is with her patients and how the community looked up to her was something you don’t see every day. Callie sure does have a heart of gold and a knack at what she does.
Many times In this book my heart just melted. Allie has a way of doing that in her books. She likes to pull on your heart strings. I like that about her.
I am looking forward to continuing this series. If It is anything like this one it will be a hit.
I am a retired nurse so this book was interesting to me.
I enjoy reading about how characters grow close to each other and the situations they overcome.
This is a sweet HEA.
Allie Kincade is a wonderful writer that gets right to the heart.
This is the first in a new series Sisters in Bloom. If the new books in the series are like this, it will be great reading for me in the future. This was an easy, good and clean book with the happily ever after and small town romance with the new doctor who just happens to be handsome. No one thought that getting another doctor in to the small family practice would open Callie up to love again after losing her husband to cancer. Dr. Robert Jameson never thought living in a small town would make him happy. He thought he wanted to stay in the big city practicing oncology but life has a way of changing things. Nice read of two people discovering not only about each other but themselves as well.
Sweet Small Town Medical Romance
Ok, confession time. I love medical romances. Ever since I was a little girl and would read my grandma’s old Harlequin novels, you know those from the fifties or sixties in which a long kiss was a graphic as it got… and a whole lot of the were medical romances.
This book combines two things I love, medical romance, and small town romance…. and throw in a second chance, and it is a winner!

I love small town romance and Allie Kincaid has started a great new series based in the small town of Sanders Corner. Callie’s dream has always been to take over the small medical practice in town with her husband. She instead finds herself doing it alone while raising their son. Robert is looking for a change and chance to recharge after being passed over for a position he had been working for. He didn’t expect to find a home in Sanders Corner. He didn’t expect to be welcomed so quickly. And he didn’t expect Callie.
Dr. Callie Parker was overwhelmed being the only doctor in town and a single mother. She can’t wait to relinquish some of her cases to the new doctor, so she can spend more time with her son Ash. She always thought she would be running the practice with her husband, but he died of cancer. Dr. Robert Jameson was recently passed over for his dream job when he accepts the position working for Callie in Sanders Corners. He thought working as a small town family practice doctor would just be a temporary detour before he gets back into a career in oncology. He never expected to fall for Callie, Ash, and the quirky residents of Sanders Corners. But when the opportunity for his dream job appears will he give it all up to accept it? There was plenty of humor in this sweet romance. I loved Roberts empathetic dog Max and six year old Ash. Callie’s sisters were great too and I can’t wait to read Mari’s story.
I received an ARC of this book via Bookfunnel and I’m voluntarily leaving my review. A wonderful, feel good romance. This is book one in a series and I can’t wait to read more from this series. Wonderfully written and a great introduction to the series. I loved reading this book as the story is enjoyable and has a great story line with a second chance at love. A book you won’t want to put down until you finish it.
A small-town romance between two doctors and second chances. The story has a nice flow; the main and secondary characters are well written, all in all, is a good start for a series.
There’s humor, irony, romance, it’s poignant and gives a nice portrait of small-town life.

The first book in a new series Sisters in Bloom a well written story that held my interest throughout. Dr. Callie Parker is many things—a successful physician, a widow and loving single mother to her son Ash. She hires a doctor from the city to come and work in her practise.Robert Jameson accepts a position of resident physician in the tiny town of Sanders Corner, but for him it is only temporary, but then his plans turn upside down. I enjoyed reading how Callie and Robert get their happy ending. I want to read the next book in this series when it comes out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Callie Parker and her husband dreamed of moving back to home to Sanders Corner, practicing family medicine and raising a family once they finished medical school. Instead, Callie has found herself back home as the small town’s only doctor. Overworked, a widow who lost her young husband to cancer and mom to a six year old son. Robert Jameson’s dream was to escape the small town he was raised in and practice Oncology in a large hospital. After years of specialty training he had been considered the top candidate until burn out and one tragic error took him out of the running. With encouragement from his mentor, he interviewed for the physician opening with the Mayor of Sanders Corner and was offered the position believing it would be a temporary job and a boost to his resume.
Callie and Robert’s first meeting got off to a bad start in front of the local townspeople. Callie couldn’t believe the new doctor with his big city ways was going to stick around long, Robert wants to get back to practicing what he trained for, but their hearts had other ideas. Add in a meddling Mayor/granny, a six year old boy with stars in his eyes, and a dog. A great, sweet story about finding love.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review but purchased my own copy because I loved the story.
Life broke her heart. Can the sands of time and the winds of fate put the pieces back together again, with a little help from love? Kincaid is not afraid to get the emotions dirty. She hits at the weakest point of the heart, in order to get a reaction. Callie’s Second Chance for Love, reads like a balm for the soul. There will be bumps and bruises, but there will also be moments of joy and laughter. Healing does not mean we forget the pain of the past, it means we cherish the memories, learn from the heartache and don’t lose ourselves in the process. A poignant look at a new beginning.
Small town physician Callie, the heroine, is taking on too much at work as the only doctor at her clinic, so she hires a relatively new doctor to assist. He gets into town early and, immediately has to help a town resident with a minor injury. Callie is a little put out by this; she’s going to have a hard time giving up control of the patients who are her neighbors and friends in this small town. Callie’s a widow with a young son whom she hasn’t had much time for as she is so busy with her job. Robert, the new doctor, wanted to go into oncology but didn’t get the position he wanted, so he figured he could cool his jets in a small town for a short while until he could get the job he wanted. As he and Kelly get to know each other, they find themselves more and more attracted to each other.
Will Callie be able to open her heart again, especially when she knows that Robert never planned to stick around? Will Robert want to stay if he finds the woman of his dreams? Which is more important, his dream job or the potential love of his life?
I’ve been a nurse in a hospital, and I have had a nephew who went to medical school, so I found some of these depictions of medicine to be inaccurate. Callie is a dedicated physician, and she interacts with her patients in ways that you just don’t see the small town (even though it would be awesome if you did). I lived in a town the same size as this fictional one, and our medical system was nothing like this. Also, the timing described for medical school and a residency with a specialty didn’t seem quite right. An oncology doctor would be unlikely to take a general practitioner job; even if he didn’t get his ideal position, he would still most likely look for something in his field. A small town practice, too, might pass over such a specialist, no matter how desperate they are.
Despite that, as a romance, it was still an enjoyable read.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
I have pros and cons, and they kind of go hand-in-hand. Clean or sweet romance is not what I read the most. I don’t have issues reading about sex in books, not that I need them to be overly descriptive, but sex is important part of any relationship. The pro to this particular story was the slow build-up of their relationship. Callie and Robert felt more like a normal couple than what you read in a lot of non clean novels. The problem that I had was that it wrapped up so fast. It almost seemed like more happened in the last chapter or so then the entire rest of the book combined. This is where I feel like being clean was kind of missing, because it almost felt like we missed a chapter of their relationship with no mention of any intimacy. Maybe that was done intentionally, to make us not realize how strong their relationship was until the very end, I’m really not sure. I’ve gone back and forth with my review, trying not to give anything away, but also explaining where I was coming from.
This is a good story. The way you have your future mapped out in your head is not always the way it will work out. You have to be willing to really listen to your heart.
