I had a reputation and he had the solution.I thought I was done with Hollywood.Done with acting.Done with scandal.Done with all the lies this industry thrives on.Then I met him… lifetime. But as it gets closer and closer to the audition, I don’t want our scenes to end.
He makes me want him when I thought I had built an impenetrable wall around my heart. He makes me trust him when I thought there was no one left in our industry to trust.
But it’s all just an act … right?
It’s all just for the callback.

Sexy with a WOW factor that I can’t explain! A love story with so much more. Ashley @ White Hot Reads
I am finding lots of new authors this year and this is one of them. This will not be my last book by Katana. Katana made me fall hard for both Jude and Marley and I did not want to put the book down. Not only did I love the story but I learned more about the BDSM world. Learning from the characters about how the BDSM world is not just about the sex but about the control. The pull to loving these charters and pulling for their relationship is what kept me reading. I didn’t want this book to end! This book is not just about the BDSM but a true love story that shows how two people will react to all the trials and tribulations that are thrown at them.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
This is my first read by this author but definitely not the last! With that being said, WOW, one more time, WOW! Heart pounding, gasping, and page turning WOW! This is a love story through and through and a lesson in trust. Watching Jude “teach” Marlena the art of BDSM after a callback for his latest movie he is hoping she will be cast in was beautiful and extremely well written. I highly recommend this one and will be on the lookout for more from this author.
Callback is a steamy, smexy page turner and, after reading it, I feel like I took an online course on BDSM and I now have a Master’s degree in it. The class didn’t need any audio media material, it had plenty of explicit and descriptive narrative; I could picture every sizzling lesson plan in my head. It’s the first book in the Silhouette Studios series, and features Marlena and Jude, two actors that have been badly burned by their exes and are afraid of trusting anyone.
After Marlena Taylor broke up with her ex, and he accused her in the media of using him to get a part in the movie he directed, she got the reputation of putting out for a role. After being propositioned and/or sexually accosted at every audition afterwards, she and her best friend, Oscar, fake their engagement. This helped him too; he doesn’t want anyone to know he’s gay so they act like a loving couple.
With Hollywood buzzing about the Oscar worthy movie being cast, Marly really wants the lead. When she’s offered a chance, by the lead actor, to prep and get some inside info for the role before her next callback she jumps at it. After being cast in Rom-Coms, she’s anxious to break out of the typecast and she really wants this role, so she’ll take any help she can get to learn about the lifestyle. It’s not about “Burritos, Doritos, Snickers and M&M’s” as she jokingly calls it.
“BDSM is about control. It’s about the power dynamic between two people. It’s sexual in nature … but it’s not always about sex.”
Jude Fisher’s ex-wife, Laylah, was apparently acting throughout their marriage. She fooled Jude into thinking she was a devoted wife while cheating on him to get cast in movie roles. After she was caught in a scandal and they divorced the last thing he needs is for her to be cast as the lead in the new movie his best friend, Ash, is directing.
The Oscar-winning actor would do anything to avoid working with her and when he’s told she and Marlena are both being considered for the lead, and have callback, Jude wants to make sure Laylah doesn’t get the part. He offers Marlena the chance to work with him, for a week, and learn the lifestyle of a submissive; almost like an intensive Method acting workshop, in a way. The lines they say while playing Dom/sub become a little blurry and they both realize they aren’t acting anymore.
“When a bird sits in a tree, it never fears the branch breaking. Her trust is not on the branch but on her own wings. Believe in your wings, Marly. People like him…just want to clip your wings and keep you grounded. But you’re not meant for the ground.”
Lots of secrets and betrayals are revealed while they both get into the part. With both of them having serious trust issues, and not knowing if the other is acting or what is real, there are some things even the best actors can’t fake. The epilogue had me doing a happy dance, I loved it!
3.75 stars–CALLBACK is the first instalment in Katana Collins’ contemporary, adult SILHOUETTE STUDIOS erotic, BDSM romance series. This is Hollywood star Jude Fisher, and actress Marlena ‘Marly’ Taylor’s story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jude and Marly) CALLBACK follows the building relationship between movie picture star Jude Fisher, and actress Marly Taylor. Marly’s reputation in Hollywood tanked when her ex-boyfriend launched a smear campaign aiming to destroy our heroine’s career. An audition to star alongside one of Hollywood’s leading men in a new movie focusing on BDSM meant a resurgence in self-esteem but an education into a different side of the Hollywood life. Enter Jude Fisher, Dominant, Hollywood star and the man with whom Marly would fall in love. What ensues is the ‘education’ of Marly Taylor, and the potential fall-out as Marly’s issues of trust, begin to affect her relationship with Jude Fisher.
Marly Fisher’s last relationship destroyed our heroine’s ability to trust, and with it, her ability to accept praise and commendations. With Jude Fisher, our heroine will begin to blossom in her role as a submissive, and leading Hollywood star, a role she questions when fear begins to bloom anew. Jude Fisher is no stranger to scandal: his ex-wife’s betrayal devastated his faith in love and romance but meeting Marly Taylor meant a second chance at a happily ever after, a second chance that will be destroyed by Marly’s inability to trust and let go of the past.
The relationship between Marly and Jude begins as a professional arrangement. Marly must be educated in the ways of a submissive, and a temporary membership at a high-end BDSM club means Marly will be exposed to a lifestyle that has her questioning her desires, actions and emotional fall-out. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and intense; the BDSM scenes include some bondage, discipline and spanking.
We are introduced to fellow Dominant and Hollywood director Ash Livingston, Dominant and club member Chloe, Jude’s ex-wife and actress Layla Hutson, CEO of Silhouette Studios Richard Blair, and Marly’s best friend, roommate and actor Omar Blake. Ash Livingston’s story line is next Role Play.
CALLBACK is a sexy, spirited and decadent story with familiar scenarios ala 50 Shades of Grey. The premise is imaginative; the characters are realistic and energetic; the romance is emotional and captivating. CALLBACK examines the BDSM lifestyle; the emotional relationship between Dom and sub; and the ramifications of falling in love against the odds.

This book was amazing!
And after reading, I feel schooled on many things in the BDSM according to Jude & Marly.
From the beginning to the end of this book, it gave me the feels, angst, plenty of sexy times, and the anticipation of what was going to happen with these characters.
I was entranced just like Marly into the world of BDSM through her eyes as well as Jude’s.
Loved this book has duel POV from the main characters so us readers were not left wondering what each one was thinking.
Just go One click this book and find out why being curious is the best recipe for sinful fun times.
This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. I loved the chemistry between Jude and Marley. It was a slow burn but when they came together, it was combustible. Would definitely read more from this author.
“Not what I expected, in a good way.” ~Misty, White Hot Reads
I thought in the beginning I would for sure be giving this book 5 stars but then something happened. I can’t pinpoint exactly what but it’s still a pretty great read. I haven’t read a BDSM book in awhile due to various reasons so I was a bit hesitant going in this one but came out pleasantly surprised by the end. It wasn’t all about the physical aspect of the lifestyle that so many books focus on but more of the emotional and psychological connection the characters have to engage in that had me hooked. It gave me so much more understanding of this world and maybe even why people enjoy it. The scenes were hot, the characters engaged and the story flowed pretty seamlessly keeping me engaged.
I loved Poppy. Due to the plight of the Hollywood life her confidence and reputation had been rocked but she really grew into herself throughout this book. Although from the very beginning you could tell she what side of the coin she would be on in the lifestyle she was still pretty strong and vocal about her feelings and questioned everything. Trust was hard for her but watching her find the strength to hand over control to someone who could ultimately destroy but you found only wanted her happiness was pretty powerful to be a part of.
Jude has his own demons so knowing Poppy was rocking his world from the very beginning was intriguing and I wondered how things would play out. There were so many things working against his true feelings and his the control he had over his emotions was almost mesmerizing. By the end of the book he was truly the one I was rooting for. I needed him to be healed and able to love again.
Finishing this book made me a bit sad but I have to say I think I am a bit more intrigued by Ash’s story after meeting him in this book so I will be patiently waiting to read his story. Don’t miss out on this book. It was a great start to what I have a feeling will be a great series.
