Like all of W.E.B. Griffin’s books, this is badly written, clichéd, repetitive and about 30 percent longer than it ought to be—but the depth of research and the plotting make them interesting.
I’ve read all his books from his various series. Very knowledgeable about the military. He did serve in the military and knows the military mind.
great book well written
This author is one of the best, and this is part of his best series.
This book was typical W.E.B. His stories use actual events and adds to them to fill out his stories. All of his series are the same way, that’s what makes them enjoyable
Great series. Well researched and informative
If you like a well written Military story this series is for you.
I’ve read every book he has written. Great reads.
I love Griffin and have finally made it to the Corps series!
WEB Griffin was always the best for me.
The entire series is great the main character is great.
Griffin’s narrative & character description flow easily, colorfully, content is well researched & believeable -> I recommend reading both books “Semper Fi” (book-1) + “Call to Arms” (book-2) together.
Well written fact based fictional tale circa WWII.
Any work by this author is worth the time to read.
Good enough that I’ve read it two or three times over the years.
Anything he writes..
One you open the book, you cannot put it down.
Classic WEB Griffin – characters and plotlines I recognize as a long-time Griffin aficionado, as well as a 30-year Air Force officer. Great stuff!
This is one of a series of historical novels about the Marine Corps. The whole series is very well done. The characters go from one book to the next so they are easy to remember and keep track of. The series starts just before WWll and goes to Korea. The major events depicted are pretty accurate. I found the whole series a good read.
The reason I like W.E.B. Griffin books is because as a veteran I can see in my minds eye the people, places and situations in his storytelling.
