I don’t know how Patricia Eddy does it, but her books go from strength to strength – or maybe that’s her characters. We’ve met Trevor Moana before, but not as we see him in this book. There were pages that had tears streaming down my face – ugly crying – and there was joy and relief (and happy tears) too. I won’t repeat the storyline, but, if there’s one book you take a chance on this month, please make it this one. So many of the other Second Sight guys are here, and Dax is his inimitable self. As always, the characters are empathetic and well written, and, as always, the story itself is heartrending, hopeful, vividly told, and gripping. This is a book to keep and love.
I received a free copy of this book, and my review is voluntary.
Patricia Eddy really nailed the danger and suspense factor in Call Sign Redemption. It was wow, just wow! I gasped and my heart raced as events unfolded in this riveting story. It was fast paced and hard hitting from the first scenes. If I could rate this a 10, I would not hesirate. I was utterly enthralled.
Trevor Moana is a very complex character and I found him completely captivating. For most of his life he’s had to lock down his emotions and feelings. First as a child in the foster system, then as a CIA operator. There were two people he truly cared about; one he killed, the other he deserted. Dani Monroe gets my vote for one tough cookie. Her assignments as a reporter helped her to become that way. Trevor still has her heart regardless of how he hurt her. They both become political pawns in the perilous country of Venezuela. Second Sight/Hidden Agenda teams formulate and execute a rescue operation without hesitation because that’s what family does for each other. Finding redemption through love is what we all deserve.
