He’s tasked her with discovering the whereabouts of a Ms. Wendy Parsons, who he believes is being held captive somewhere within the Society.
But as Kelia’s research intensifies, and her missions for herself and for Drew intersect, Kelia is confronted with a disturbing realization: before her father’s death, he’d created a wicked breeding program that forces relations between Shadows and irredeemable Sightless.
And Kelia’s just been placed in the program.

This is an excellent second book in the series. You learn more about the world that Keila and Drew inhabit and are introduced to characters that add to the story. Can’t wait for the next one.

An interesting read as Kelia and Drew are back again and so I got sucked in again to see what was going to happen this time. Would Kelia find clues to solve her quest of what really happened to her father and would Drew find a way to rescue his fellow Sea Shadows. An interesting concept that got better and more involved in the second book. Had to see what would happen and if Kelia and Drew would team up again.
Though it is not as well written as the first book, this book is still a good read. Kelia doesn’t seem as sharp as she is portrayed in the first book, but after having to pretend that she is reformed for so long and having to hold herself back, it is almost understandable.
Despite being a little let down, I am still looking forward to reading the 3rd book.

Our heroine is a slayer, our hero a vampire. That may sound familiar but the kicker is that vampires are pirates that cannot come on land.
This is book two in the series. While they can be read in any order, I recommend starting at the beginning so that you understand the background. Everything will make more sense that way.
This is an urban fantasy novel with a somewhat unique twist involving a pirate and seafaring theme. I really enjoyed the unique feel that this provided and the world building that went with it. The plot was also good, with several unexpected twists and turns which kept things interesting. The characters got a bit of a face lift in this book, with more details which rounded them out and made them more enjoyable. This was a big plus.
Unfortunately, there were also quite a few typos (missing or incorrect words) which detracted from the story, but did not derail it completely.
Regardless, the story was enjoyable and did keep my attention throughout. I am looking forward to the next book in the series

This intense tale continues with more twists than you can imagine.
Kelia has learned so much and still there is so much she still needs to know. The abuse, torture and degradation is not enough. The Society wants to break her, but just can’t get there. Drew is the one solid that she has. He has helped and protected her and just thoughts of him help her survive. When she is assigned to her father’s program there is a question as to whether she’ll survive this or if Drew can save her again. Will he even want to? Excellent storytelling by a wonderful author. I am so glad I’m able to binge read this series. Pirates, witches, shifters and Sea Shadows all provide for an outstanding story.
AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.

A thrilling and dangerous adventure filled with mystery and magic… was a emotional roller-coaster from beginning to end and filled with heart pounding action. A exciting twist of a classic pirate tail.. brilliant reading experience.
I didn’t think that this story could get better but it has! These characters are phenomenal. The story is so unique and interesting. We finally get a taste of that brewing relationship between Drew and Kelia. Great writing

It’s hard at times to forget how naive 18 year olds are. It also doesn’t help that Kelia isn’t told everything she needs to know either supposedly to protect her or because they don’t feel she needs to know. This is a good follow up to the first book. I did have some problems with the book. One part which most people won’t remember as it’s not really that big of a deal, is when Drew and Kelia kiss, which was gross because she threw up not that long before that part happened. A lot happens in this book with a lot more to go.

If you read book 1 Sea of Darkness then you know we met Kelia and Drew as they set out to find out what really happened to her father. In this book, Kelia and Drew’s relationship is discovered and she is condemned to life as a sightless. These two go on quite a journey full of drama, danger, mystery, intrigue and so much more. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in The Vampire Pirate Saga.
Kelia is continuing her investigation even though she has been knocked down. Kelia has matured in this book and has even more adventures to overcome.

Like the first book, this one quickly sucked me into the intrigue. We get the opportunity to learn several of the answers that were left wanting at the end of the previous one, but there are new mysteries revealed that make me grateful to be able to immediately move on to book three. I really liked that we get to see Kelia as a more independent woman. However, for the amount of Drew we get to see, he’s almost a throw-away character in this book. It may have just been my mood at the time, but I found this installment to be more ponderous, plodding. I didn’t get the same sense of urgency to rush to the end; that desperate need to find out what happens next. Though I will admit to being quite excited to see what happens in the next book.

I couldn’t put this book down. It is full of action. Kelia’s relationship with Drew Knight is discovered. She is condemned to a life of servitude as a Sightless. She needs The Society to believe she is trying to redeem herself by doing chores and behaving. Kelia is still trying to find out why The Society killed her father. Drew calls in his favor, asking Kelia to search for information on Wendy Parsons. As she is researching she discovers her father created a disturbing breeding program that forces relations between Shadows and Sightless. Kelia has no choice, and is sent in to the program. I cannot wait to read the next book.
