Impulsive. Irresponsible. Impossible.Lemon Kelly lives in a world that is fast, loud and a little bit crazy. She left her small hometown for the bright lights of Nashville and has been living her dream ever since. She’s traveled the world and plays her music for crowds of adoring fans. She has everything she ever wanted. Only the wants of a 17 year old girl vary greatly from the needs of a grown … of a grown woman. Is it selfish to want something more, something like the love she writes songs about?
Can a girl have two dreams? Or will she have to give up one to get the other? And if so… which? Fame or a family of her own?
Stable. Solid. Safe.
Shane Lowry likes his quiet, controlled life. The always responsible small town deputy is a father to his three daughters first and foremost. Nothing comes before them. He had to grow up fast and early and he’s long since stopped letting silly things like lust control his actions. He doesn’t even date. So why does he find himself so drawn to the lively girl next door turned country music superstar that is the complete opposite of what he should want in a woman?
If he lets her in, she’ll shake up his entire world. He knows it. But is that a good thing or a very bad thing?
The sparks between them are undeniable. The pull irresistible. And if they take a chance they just might find what they’ve both been missing.

This book takes place in the small town of Fate, Texas as many of Jess Bryant’s books do. I had a friend tell me this was like a hug in a book and I have to agree. I spent much of the time that I was reading this with a huge smile that I couldn’t erase from my face. My cheeks actually hurt by the time I was done.
Lemon was such a fun and entertaining heroine. She was a music superstar who ran back to her small hometown . She was missing something and it was something she never thought she could have. She found it when the town deputy took a liking to her.
Shane Lowry was a divorced single father . You would think that there would be ex-wife drama but no . I loved Shane’s ex Holly. Their kids were even sweet. I loved the way Shane turned into a complete caveman when it came to Lemon.
This book had it all. Lemon was one of my favorite heroines ever and I loved the family setting in this book. I didn’t want it to end. It was exactly like my friend said . It was a hug in a book!
Call Me, Irresistible is a great second chance romance! Lemon left home to pursue her dreams of becoming a music star, and she did it! Years later she unexpectedly returns home after receiving some bad news. Coming home she unexpectedly runs into Shane, aka Dudley Do Right! I love the banter between these two and the chemistry is fire! This was such a good story and I devoured it in one day.
Lemon is a country music star but something is missing in her life. She goes home to Fate, Texas to try and figure out what she wants. When she gets home the first person she see is her childhood crush, Shane. The sparks fly but Lemon has a secret and is afraid it will tear them apart. I really enjoy this book.
This is a book you won’t be able to put down once you start reading. Small town love story, sexy and fun characters, and a story line that will have you laughing one minute and tears in your eyes the next minute.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a wonderful second chance at love romance, both Lemon and Shane have broken marriages in their pasts but when Lemon returns to Fate, Texas after some devastating news and runs into her childhood crush, the chemistry between them sizzles. Can this couple have a HEA when having to deal with dazzling lights of Lemon’s music career and the drama of raising three daughters?
A wonderful emotional romance between a couple who have experienced life and have found the other person who completes them.
Lemon Kelly left Fate, TX at the age of 17 with her guitar on a bus headed for Nashville. She knew what she wanted & stopped at nothing to get it. She’s realized that she wants more out of life than just the glamour and fast paced life on the road. She wants a family, but how can she have them both? She decides that she needs to go home & leaves Nashville not telling anyone, including her own family. When she gets there, in a downpour of a rain, she finds her parents gone. She’s hunting for the hide-a-key, when a male voice behind her stops her. When she turns around, she finds the local deputy standing there. Holy hotness! It’s Shane Lowry, her best friend’s brother & her long time crush. It takes him a moment to recognize her, but when he does, he can’t believe it’s her. She’s always been the irresponsible & impulsive one. He’s a father of 3 girls so he has to be stable, strong & responsible. There’s an attraction to her that shocks him, but he finds himself flirting with her. He’s divorced & hasn’t dated anyone since because he puts his daughters first above everything else in his life. At a family dinner, he walks in to find his brother (Lemon’s long time best friend) holding her arm, and Shane loses his cool. He’s jealous & this is a new feeling for him.
I absolutely loved this story. I started it in the morning, and I was so enchanted within the first few chapters that I scrapped everything else on my agenda for that day just so I could read it in one day. The characters are well created, well developed, well written with unique personalities. The story has your emotions all over the place. You laugh. You cry. You feel the jealousy. This is the 2nd story I’ve read by Jess & you are not disappointed. The story ends with an HEA. Put this on your TBR list. Or, better yet, drop what you are reading right now & grab this one up. You will NOT be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this book. A complex blend of heart and heat easily pull you into this story and have you deeply involved in this couple and their happiness. Shane and Lemon are opposites in so many ways. Together though they are like yin and yang, they create a balance in each other which is very welcome. This reads storyline offers sweetness, drama, steam, angst, witty banter, humor and plenty of emotions. Amazing chemistry, a fun plot and heart stealing characters make this a book that is not to be missed.
FIVE PERFECT STARS!
So Darn Good! The storyline easily pulls you and kept me captivated with all the feels and yummy hot chemistry that had me excited for more making it impossible to put down. A sweet ending that brings the story full circle making this a perfect read that I gladly recommend.
Shane and Lemon complete opposites, he’s Deputy Do-Right and she’s Little Miss Trouble. But when she runs away home to find comfort with her family, she runs straight into the arms of Fate Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Lowry.
This book has a little bit of everything, an age gap, single dad romance, steamy, steamy sexy times and a little bit of mystery.
What is Nashville Superstar Lemon running from, and why is she so unhappy? Can Shane spend time with Lemon without it all falling apart? What will his children think? Will Lemon be happy forever back in her home town of Fate, Tx, or will she miss the spotlight too much?
Jess Bryant gives us an excellent read with funny characters that also heat up the sheets, while showing that love and healing can often be found right in front of your eyes. A definite 5 gem!
Call Me, Irresistible is the first Fate, Texas, novel I’ve read and it didn’t diminish my enjoyment to read it out of order. Of course, I’ll be reading the others ASAP because I loved this book so much.
Lemon Kelly has a reputation as being flighty and irresponsible. As a teenager, she ran off to Nashville to pursue her music dreams, which she achieved. Now she’s back in her hometown and staying with her parents to regroup after getting some unfortunate news. Shane Lowry has been a life-long rule follower and now he enforces the law as a sheriff’s deputy and tries to maintain order as the divorced father of three daughters.
Other reviewers have remarked about the maturity and common sense demonstrated by the characters and I have to agree. It was tremendous to read about characters who trust each other and talk out difficulties rather than jumping to conclusions and running away. Even Shane and his ex-wife, Holly, have an enviable relationship based on trust and cooperation and true goodwill for one another.
Please don’t think all that maturity adds up to a boring story because this is anything but boring! The plot is well-paced, the dialogue is natural, and the sex is off-the-charts hot! I absolutely recommend this book.
I could not put this book down. Loved every minute of it. The romance is super sweet, there’s minimal drama, and the sexy times are HOT. It’s basically my perfect romance novel. Also: single dad with a hot body who has only ever been with one woman. Its perfect. Five stars. Highly recommend.
I loved this wonderful romance! All the feels and warmth of family life and soem extra heat is added when Lemon’s around. I laughed, I cried and felt with them the awesome love that happens between Lemon and Shane.
She is called: Impulsive. Irresponsible. Impossible. But that was surely in the past? Lemon Kelly left her hometown (Fate, Texas) for the bright lights of Nashville and she has been living her dream ever since, middle in a world that is fast, loud and a little bit crazy. She has travelled the world an d plays her music for crowds of adoring fans. She has everything she ever wanted. Where in the world do I start with how much I absolutely loved this book! My heart is so full and my eyes are all teary, and I’m just so emotional, which only proves how incredible this story is. Lemon is a country superstar who grew up in Fate, Texas and even with all her fame, she loves her home and family. So when something happens in her life, she comes home to get centered. What she didn’t expect was Shane, a childhood friend, now a Deputy. The moment these two see each other, the sparks flew and I knew in my heart that these two belong together.
Lemon is described as the perfect, girl next door, and I could see being friends with her. She is extremely likeable and I truly loved everything about her character. Shane, is all male, with a heart of gold for his daughters. He doesn’t have time for a relationship and when he sees Lemon, all that goes right out the window! Their chemistry is chart topping and when they are together you can just feel their emotions. I loved everything about this book and can’t recommend it highly enough!
4.5 stars for me
I won this book in a competition and I am so glad I did. I absolutely LOVED it. Lemon is a fantastic lead character with all her wit, her insecurities and her humour. Shane is just Yum! Small town cop, single dad, alpha with the right amount of gentle and sweet. Their chemistry was crazy hot! This is a perfect second chance romance that had me sniffling, laughing and smiling the whole way through. Will definitely be looking for more books by this author. Such a fantastic read.
