Two besties and a baby make for an instafamily and a surprising romance in a delightful series by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of the Sugar Lake novels.
Ben Dalton has always been honest, except where his heart is concerned. He’s been in love with his best friend—saucy, smart-mouthed Aurelia Stark—forever. But Ben’s a planner, and timing has never been on his side. When … been on his side. When he finally decides to make his move, Aurelia beats him to the punch with a move of her own—to a different town.
Aurelia loves her new life in the charming town of Harmony Pointe. She has a great apartment and her very own bookstore, and best of all, the sinfully hot, commitment-phobic friend she’s crushed on for years is no longer just around the corner. Maybe she’ll finally be able to leave her unrequited love behind and move on.
But when a baby is left on Ben’s front porch—a baby that is presumably his—Aurelia is there for him. Neither one knows the first thing about babies, but how hard can it be? Ben and Aurelia are catapulted into a world of love, laughter, and tracking down the baby mama, and it might even add up to a very happily ever after… just not one either of them expects.

This book is a must read! I loved everything about this book! Ben and Rels were meant to be together add in cute little Bea and you have a perfect family. They had their ups and downs but don’t all families. This book has so much. Lots of laughter, lots of friendship, and tons of love. I love reading about past couples as well. Love catching up! Melissa Foster always writes with her heart and this book is no different. But I have to say that this is one of my favorites now. If I could give a higher rating then five stars I would!
Ben and Aurelia find themselves in a crazy situation, that leads to imperfect perfection. After reading I can see why Ben needs to Call Her Mine. Melissa Has a true gift for bringing words alive. Emotions flow from her pen to the page and into readers hearts, connecting readers and characters from page one. Heroes who would be lost with out their heroine but are too stubborn to know and/or admit it. Heroines that know their worth and never let a stubborn man forget it, even if it breaks their heart. You will find yourself rooting for every triumph and teary eyed over every heartbreak, and feeling every emotion in between.
Read. This. Book.
I am not a crier when it comes to books. I am an emotional reader, but I rarely let it out. This. book. had. me. in. tears. Soooo much emotion and love. That is a sign of a truly great book. Aurelia and Ben are #relationship goals. To go from best friends to co-parenting, to admitting their love for one another is a rollercoaster, but the best that I have read in 2019. The ending threw me for a loop, but I loved every gut-wrenching word. I could babble on and on about this book, but it would just be better to go experience it yourself. This is an EXCELLENT start to the Harmony Pointe series! Thank you, Melissa Foster, for this book, it truly touched my soul.
Wow, what a totally unputdownable novel from author Melissa Foster. Call Her Mine grabs you right from the start and the wondrous journey never lets up. The two main characters, bookstore owner Aurelia Stark, and venture capitalist Ben Dalton, have been best friends for years, and their romantic courtship is replete with poor timing, elation, and love. This is the first book from the author’s brand new series Harmony Pointe, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
Unrequited love is what Aurelia and Ben have been harboring forever. The time is never right to share their romantic feelings, so when they finally do, their happiness is tangible. Coinciding with their new relationship is Baby Bea, an infant that was left on Ben’s doorstep. A paternity test proves that Ben is Bea’s father. Aurelia and Ben are now parents, while balancing sleeplessness, two residences, two demanding jobs, and everything else in between. Naturally, Bea’s biological mother is also a huge concern.
Call Her Mine is truly an amazing and heartrending novel. It is an emotional read with sexy times that are both loving and steamy. I finished this book a few hours ago, yet it took me a while to pull myself together in order to write a review. Only a few novels have ever caused me to be contemplative and overwhelmingly raw, which this one does stunningly. Don’t pass up the chance to read this well-written book.

Ben and Aurelia’s story is a wonderful friends to lovers story, that makes you laugh and makes you cry a little too. My heart was destroyed at the end, but you could tell that these guys hard a heart of gold and were going to do the right thing. I love the secondary characters. Can’t wait for more!
After being in a reading slump for the past two weeks, ‘Call Her Mine’ was the perfect book to get me out of it!
I eagerly anticipated Ben Dalton’s story, the moment his character was introduced in book one of the ‘Sugar Lake Series’, and I knew Melissa Foster would have something good in store for him!
He is rich, successful and has been crushing on his best girl friend Aurelia for years, never knowing the right time to declare his true feelings towards her. But when a baby mysteriously ends up on his doorstep, with a note claiming he’s a father, Ben’s world is turned upside down.
He is scared, afraid but after holding her and coming to terms with his new title of ‘dad’, he becomes besotted with little baby Bea. But the one person he can count on for help and support is his best friend Aurelia.
Aurelia is sweet, smart, successful and absolutely besotted with Ben. She has been his best friend, and they have a special connection that had just never matched up in terms of timing. But with the unexpected arrival of a baby, and her friends despair, Aurelia swallows her jealousy and gets stuck in to becoming part of Ben’s support system. You love her for always saying the right thing, even when you know it’s hard for her as a character, and she is the perfect match for Ben.
Like all of Foster’s books, the difficult topic of why a mother would abandon her baby is discussed, and this book just had me gripped! So emotional and a really beautiful story.
This is the ideal read for someone who loves friends to romance books, or is looking for a new series/author to become immersed in. Perfect read with loveable and relatable characters that you can’t help but become addicted to.
This is the 1st book in the Harmony Pointe series (and sort of the 4th in the Sugar Lake series). This is a stand alone book and is Ben and Aurelia’s book. It is a very sweet, fun and great best friends to lovers with a baby thrown in (with some hotness added in too), although this isn’t the typical baby story. I loved Ben and Aurelia! You saw there was something between them in the previous books, but was so much more. I loved that they didn’t spend the whole book resisting each other and much of the book was focused on them building their already strong relationship. You also got a good dose of all of his sisters that you have met in the previous books. As I said, it is a stand alone and you do not need to read the Sugar Lake books, but it is so much better if you have so you can totally enjoy the banter in the Dalton family. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the rest of the Harmony Pointe books!
Call Her Mine is a great friends to lovers story with 2 people who have a long history of being best friends and have always secretly loved each other. When Aurelia finds a major surprise on Bens door step the friendship takes on a whole different level. I love the friends to lovers stories and even more when they involve sharing their love with a little one. Great job Melissa
Ben and Aurelia have been friends for years and they both have feelings for the other one but somehow neither one has been able to figure out the feelings are mutual! Ben believes that Aurelia has had many relationships and she sees him as a player. They’ve spent many nights together but always as friends and even though Aurelia wants to tell him how she really feels, she’s afraid he doesn’t feel the same way. After a night together watching movies and falling asleep, they find a baby on the doorstep with a note in the basket. It appears that the baby is Ben’s and when they try to figure out who the mother could be, he has to admit to the one night stands he’s had. Together they learn to take care of the baby, figure out if the baby really is his and track down the mother. Seeing how they come together and realize just how much they both really care about each other and the baby is filled with laughs and also at times a bit frustrating. Wonderful new series and I can’t wait to see what other storylines Ms. Foster will come up with! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Call them yours!
Call Her Mine by Melissa Foster is the story of Ben, Aurelia and Bea. Ben and Aurelia (Rels)have been best friends forever. Aurelia has been I love with Ben (and he with her) but they are unaware the other sees them as anything more than friends. When Rels moves away to open her own bookstore and to move forward with her life, she tries to convince herself to leave Ben behind. Just when she is ready to do exactly that, she finds a basket outside Ben’s door. She assumes the neighbour made him muffins, but inside the basket is something much sweeter…a baby who is Ben’s! But who is the mother and why leave the poor baby there when Ben didn’t know he’d fathered a child!!
I laughed out loud as Ben and a Rels manoeuvre through the issues of taking care of a baby. I loved how Ben finally stepped up to tell Rels his feelings and how much of the book was the insta-family dynamics. And learning about Bea’s mother and her reasons for giving up her child made me cry. All in all, this is another fabulous book with a little of everything you’d want in a romantic comedy.
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Ben and Aurelia story had the style of yesterday’s romance books which I love. It definitely had more heat to it though haha. The friends to lovers trope makes me happy too. The fact that story is filled with family and friends makes it a full read. Ugh the icing on the cake is when you add a sweet little surprise baby to it all. Eek ovary twinge.
I have to admit that I wasn’t always in love with Ben and Aurelia. They seemed a bit shallow and ridiculous at times especially when the baby first appeared. It wasn’t always believable to me. I know, I know, it is a romance which is a genre that embraces the far fetched. Hee hee. The story also seem to get tedious and I started racing through it. I definitely had a hard time at the end. The heartbreak really overshadowed the HEA. Yes I am probably too sensitive. I won’t say more. You have to read it to see if you agree.
Ok Happy Reading Everyone!
I truly loved this book. Ben and Aurelia were great as a couple since they’d been friends for so long, and I loved it. They needed a little push in the right direction, and the baby was the push that they needed; even if it took some time for Ben to accept the baby as his because of some choices he’d made.
There was quite a bit of humor, especially with the new parents moments. I remember having times like those, and I think that a lot of people will be able to relate on some level. What they go through is relatable in so many ways, which makes the characters themselves relatable because it makes them human. Ben’s family makes you feel as though you’re part of the family, and so does Aurelia’s grandmother. As a book lover, I also would love to go to a bookstore like the one in the book because I can visualize it so vividly.
Ben and Aurelia were friends for many years. Both were attracted to one another. However, they never acted on their attention. They spent so much time together. One day when Aurelia as leaving Ben’s house she she found a baby on his doorstep. They taking the baby to the doctor, contact his lawyer and narrowing down who the babies mom could be. Ben and Aurelia jump right in caring for the baby. Aurelia stepped up as well. She had a few breakdown moments. Ben made a great dad from the start. Baby “B” brought Ben and Aurelia together as a couple.
Wow what an amazing story. It was an emotional ride. You trully want to hate Bea’s mom. In a turn of events,
I totally didn’t expect the little plot twist at the end. Have those tissues ready. This story has a HEA, no cliffhanger.

Friends to lovers with a baby not at all what you expect but a great read! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Ben and Aurelia have been friends forever and have not acted on any of what they fell until an unexpected little girl shows up on Ben’s door! Will Ben and Aurelia be able to figure out what is going on with not only the baby but acting on their feelings? Their relationship is tested in so many ways but you will want to keep reading so that you can find out what happens! Love book one of this new series and can’t wait to see where this series goes!
I absolutely loved this sweet, entertaining and completely charming story! It has been a while since I’ve read one of Melissa Foster’s books and I was so drawn into this story that I couldn’t put it down. The characters were completely lovable, the story was realistic and the experience left me wanting more!
Auriela has been in love with Ben Dalton for most of her life. He is the man she compares every guy to and they all fall short. Unfortunately, Aurelia is stuck in the friend zone with Ben and she’s determined to move on and start a new chapter in her life. A life that doesn’t involve her constantly hanging out with Ben. Hoping to distance herself from Ben, she decides to move to a nearby town and open a new bookstore. Despite her new plan, Ben keeps calling her to hangout and of course she’s weak where Ben’s concerned. Once again she finds herself going to his house to watch a movie with him. After falling asleep in his arms again and feeling things she shouldn’t, she’s disgusted with her lack of resolve and tries to leave. As she walks out the door she notices a basket on the porch. Thinking it’s some baked goods from Ben’s sister Willow, Aurelia opens the basket to find a little baby girl and a note informing Ben that the baby is his.
Ben has always been a very focused individual. He’s been very successful at running his business and has made a lot of money. He’s always been able to make a list, strategize and accomplish anything he sets his mind to. Everything except making Aurelia his! Ben has been close friends with Aurelia for most of his life and he’s been in love with her for as long as he can remember. He’s wanted their relationship to move out of the friend zone but the timing has always been off. Just as the timing seemed right, Aurelia decided to move away. Determined not to lose another opportunity Ben asks her to hangout. Waking up with her in his arms is just what he’s always wanted. He flirts with her hoping to let her know he wants more but she laughs at his suggestions and is in a hurry to leave. When Aurelia finds a baby on his porch Ben is afraid that he’s lost his last chance at having the relationship he’s always wanted with her. How could he possibly burden her with a child that isn’t hers? How can he keep Aurelia and still do what’s right for the baby? How can he make Aurelia believe that he’s always wanted her and that his feelings have nothing to do with needing her help with Baby B? Although he adamantly denies that the baby is his, he knows he needs help figuring out what he should do next. He turns to Aurelia asking her to stay and help him. Seeing her always in control and composed Ben totally helpless and lost, Aurelia agrees to help. So much for her new plan of keeping her distance!
There were so many things I enjoyed about this story! There were a lot of very entertaining moments as Ben and Aurelia try to figure out how to take care of Baby B. It was so funny when Ben becomes protective of Baby B’s needs and the needs of all single fathers. The cookie tip was hilarious! Ben was so cute with his lists- his list of what he needed to do for Baby B and his list of Aurelia’s happy moments! It was so heartwarming when Ben and Aurelia finally agreed to let their hearts fully love Baby B despite the pain of possibly losing her. I also loved the Dalton family and how they all came together to help Ben and Aurelia. Ben’s family was so supportive and loving. I completely enjoyed their family dynamics. His father’s wonderful acceptance and sage advice was one of my favorite parts of this story. Finally, I was completely heartbroken and shattered when Ben and Aurelia decided to meet with the baby’s mother. I recommend a box of tissues! I fell completely in love with Ben and Aurelia, Baby B, the Dalton family and this wonderful romance story of love, family and seizing the moment.
I totally recommend reading this book! It’s definitely one of the sweetest stories I’ve read. It’s a quick, easy to read contemporary romance that pulls you in, holds your attention and captures your heart. Call Her Mine is the first book in Melissa Foster’s new spinoff series Harmony Pointe. This story is wonderfully entertaining and I’m really looking forward to reading future releases in this series.
I won a free copy of this book from the author, provided through NetGalley, I happily provided my honest and unbiased review. Thank you!
Special thanks to Melissa Foster, Lisa Filipe, Netgalley and Montlake Romance for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Call Her Mine by Melissa Foster is such a sweet and gushingly romantic story. Aurelia and Ben are childhood best friends who both have unrequited feelings towards each other. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance troupes in the world! When a baby is left of Ben’s doorstep, the two are forced to confront their feelings for each other once and for all.
There are just so many things (for lack of a better word) that I love about Call Her Mine. Here are favorites:
Ben with his Clark Kent hotness is definite book boyfriend material….but ladies and gentlemen, Ben only has eyes for Aurelia which makes him EVEN more swoon-worthy. He simply adores her. He is crazy romantic with his words and his small and grand gestures. He not only makes you swoon but also melts your heart.
The drama Ben and Aurelia face is of a different kind and I am ALL ABOUT IT. Their drama revolves around caring for an abandoned baby which calls for all types of scenes: funny, sad, dramatic, romantic, etc, etc, etc. As a mother, the scenes were all so realistic. I also like the reasoning behind the baby being left. It’s both heartbreaking and oddly fulfilling.
The scene where Ben finally confesses his feelings for Aurelia was ON POINT. It has all the feels that romance readers will love. In fact, I reread it a couple of times….and then some more. It is one of the best scenes in the entire book.
A must read for romance readers. Call Her Mine will make your heart smile. I gushed so hard that I hope my review reflects that. Go read it!

Call Her Mine was Melissa Foster was a heartwarming and beautiful love story. This friends-to-lovers and single dad romance was a soothing, delicious and sexy escape from life.
I love the detailing in the stories by Melissa Foster. She creates absoultely relatable and realistic characters with fine details about their life. Like their home, their family and their work. And it doesn’t feel like story anymore. Big family with the bonding, support system and unconditional love is another of her speciality. And Call Her Mine had both. And then some more. I was laughing and smiling all the time. And I was swooning so hard too. I felt blissfully happy while reading this story. And that is a feeling to be cherished. It was a sexy, funny, hilarious, adorable and loving story.
Ben is so dreamy, gorgeous and amazing! Life threw a surprise baby but he stood up to the occasion. His soft, caring and protective side melted my heart. He can also be dangerously charming , confident and incredibly sexy. Aurelia is yin to his yang. She has a big loving heart. She has been his forever best friend and also the girl he always wanted but did not try to win her in fear of losing her. And Aurelia also loved him but could not come out of the friend zone. Ben’s manwhore tendency did not help but that was Ben’s coping mechanism. Now Baby Ben has arrived and they have to face the challenge together. And soon they will admit their feelings. It was slow burn followed by explosive passion and sweetest romance. I loved their intense chemistry so much!
Melissa Foster created another amazing love story in Call You Mine. It was fascinating, engaging and tempting. I was deep in the story with Ben and Aurelia. And the feelings were incredible!
Received ARC for Honest Review
Another great friends to lovers’ story that will make you laugh and cry as you are reading it. Ben and Aurelia have been friends for years. They sleep in the same bed but no hanky panky is happening even though Aurelia wouldn’t mind if it did. They are just too stubborn to admit the feeling that they have for each other. When she has a chance to start over somewhere else, Ben doesn’t want to lose her. He starts to find ways to make her stay. Finally a really big reason presents itself in the form of a baby. A baby he doesn’t know who the mother is. Ben is a bit of a playboy because instead of being with the one he wants, he compensates by sleeping with everyone else. They will work together to figure out how to be a family. I will admit that I had some tears in my eyes when I was finished with this book. Once you get started, you won’t want to put it down. I read it in one sitting and it was worth it.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Ben and Aurelia and baby makes an amazing story!!! A little twist on the friends to lovers trope with a surprise baby mixed in.
Ben and Aurelia have been best friends for years but both have wanted to be more. Neither one knew how the other truly felt until a surprise baby shows up on Ben’s doorstep. He doesn’t have the best timing with admitting his love, but couldn’t image another woman by his side and being the mother to his daughter. They manage to take care of a baby and enjoy their new relationship amidst the rest of their busy lives.
I love these characters and the Dalton family. Melissa Foster never fails to write a story that I fall in love with. I think my favorite part of this book was the epilogue. Whew, that was hot!!! I can’t wait for the next book.
Everytime I read a new Melissa Foster book, I always say it is my new favorite. This time I am not joking around. Ben Dalton is my new book boyfriend. Ben and Aurelia have been best friends since their teen years. They always had a platonic relationship. Ben had hopes to bring their friendship to the “next level.” To “get away” from Ben, Aurelia moved to the next town over and purchased a building. It housed an apartment upstairs from her new to open bookstore on the first floor. However, they were always spending time together. “Sleeping” together, simply because they fell asleep watching a movie…….Then things changed! BIG TIME!!!
A baby was left on Ben’s front door, claiming he was the father. He had no idea about the baby and he had no idea who the mother was. Ben figured it was one of two women. When they went to seek out the first woman, they found her happily married and pregnant, which left only one.
I won’t give away anything about the birth mother. I will tell you, make sure you have a BOX of tissues next to you. I was ugly crying. My husband came running in, asking if I was ok. He then saw my kindle and went Oh, you’re reading a Melissa book. I said yes. It really was an UGLY cry. The rest of the story you will be laughing and crying and crying and laughing. The book covers so much from life to death and everything in between.
Aurelia helped Ben navigate and take care of the baby, from changing diapers too late night feedings. All this happens as they find love with one another instead of dancing around each other as they have been for year!
Aurelia and Ben’s book is a stand alone novel, however, there are characters that are in the Sugar Lake series that are in this novel. It may help to read some of the Sugar Lake books so you can understand the characters in this book.
Once again, I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. There has not been a Melissa Foster book that I did not enjoy. I am always anticipating her next book. If you don’t have time to read, get her books on audible. Her narrators are fantastic too!
