Two besties and a baby make for an instafamily and a surprising romance in a delightful series by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of the Sugar Lake novels.
Ben Dalton has always been honest, except where his heart is concerned. He’s been in love with his best friend—saucy, smart-mouthed Aurelia Stark—forever. But Ben’s a planner, and timing has never been on his side. When … been on his side. When he finally decides to make his move, Aurelia beats him to the punch with a move of her own—to a different town.
Aurelia loves her new life in the charming town of Harmony Pointe. She has a great apartment and her very own bookstore, and best of all, the sinfully hot, commitment-phobic friend she’s crushed on for years is no longer just around the corner. Maybe she’ll finally be able to leave her unrequited love behind and move on.
But when a baby is left on Ben’s front porch—a baby that is presumably his—Aurelia is there for him. Neither one knows the first thing about babies, but how hard can it be? Ben and Aurelia are catapulted into a world of love, laughter, and tracking down the baby mama, and it might even add up to a very happily ever after… just not one either of them expects.

I love Aurelia and Ben. I love romances with a baby. I love all books by Melissa Foster. This is a triple win. This story kept me turning the pages, long after I should have been in bed. As always, the writing of Melissa Foster is superb. There are hot, sizzling, steamy parts, romantic parts, parts that made me cry, and parts that made me laugh. Absolutely, a wonderful book!
Once again Melissa Foster has hit it out of the park! Call Her Mine is the first book in her Harmony Pointe series and is the story of Ben and Aurelia. Ben and Aurelia have been best friends forever but it took a little bitty surprise in a basket on his doorstep to make them realize they are destined to be together. Come and enjoy their bumpy, messy, and crazy ride into instant parenthood and happily ever after. Added bonus – Ben Dalton is hot hot hot, the baby is adorable and we all would kill to be Aurelia! Everyone deserves a guy who says they are his “My strength. My weakness. My world.” It was great to catch up with our friends from Sugar Lake and I can’t wait to read more! Beware you will not want to put this one down! Enjoy!
Call Her Mine is my first Melissa Foster book but it will not be my last. This story was jam-packed with heat, lots of laughs and even a few tears. Great chemistry between Ben and Aurelia. Even though this Book 1 of the Harmony Pointe series, there is obviously another series featuring more of the Dalton’s that I’m eagerly looking forward to reading.
4-4.5 stars.
Oh, how I loved this.
Here we have Ben and Aurelia, they’ve been friends for years and secretly in love with each other for about the same time, lol. They are great together, and because of that, they fear taking the next step and ruin what they have.
Anyway, after a little baby is left in front of Ben’s house, with a letter claiming she’s his, he freaks out and it’s Aurelia who helps him. All this makes them fall for each other more and more and finally realize that time to take action is now. 🙂
This was a super lovely story, I loved both Ben and Aurelia, they handled things with the baby and the beginning of a new relationship the best way they could and it was great! There were ups and downs, but I loved how they kept on trying.
Little B is absolutely adorable and I shed lots of tears at the end of the story. This had it all and I can’t wait to read the next in the series. <3
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
This is the first book I’ve read by Melissa Foster. I found the description of the book intriguing… friends to lovers with a baby twist thrown in so I decided to request the book… and I’m glad that I did! This is the first book for the Harmony Pointe series and some of the characters are from the Sugar Lake series (which I have not read and will be putting those books on my TBR list).
Ben and Aurelia have been best friends since they were teenagers. Throughout the years they both have fallen deeper in love with each other, however, they don’t tell each other how they feel for fear of destroying their friendship (AND thinking the other person doesn’t feel the same way). Aurelia decides to make a change in her life and moves to a different town to open a bookstore. After hanging out with Ben & falling asleep together on his couch Aurelia is getting ready to leave the next morning when they find a baby with a note on Ben’s doorstep stating that he is the father. Now, I won’t get into a lot of details about the next part of the story because I don’t like to read spoilers, however, the steps they take to figure out if he is the father, who the mother is, and how they finally express their love for each other is very interesting. At times I found myself laughing and then a few pages later crying. I really enjoyed reading about Ben & Aurelia’s perspective families. I felt that the family bonds added a lot of depth to the story and that’s why I want to read the Sugar Lake series too. There are a few twists and turns in the story that make for an engaging read. I felt that this story was an easy and fun read that left me with a smile on my face.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Not my first read by author, heck I have read just about every single book MF put out, she is also one of my very first reads. That said, a new series HECK YESSS!
This started off on fire, then died a slow death when I realized what was happening *sigh* poor Aurelia stuck in the deep end of the ‘friends zone’ GAH! What’s worse she is doing it to herself, she can’t blame Ben for not returning anything because well to her it’s one sided. But just when she was making a small step towards moving ON and away…a basked with a baby shows up at Ben’s door. Fast forward and they are sitting at the doctors office trying to figure out where, what, when and who. The who part being specific…which is also a part that is killing Aurelia. Nothing worse then going over your mega-crushs also BFF old flings.
Today had felt like a month rather than a day. She had to get on with her life.
-Aurelia
looking from Ben’s view, he was finally ready to gamble it all, just to be with her. His love for Aurelia only grew every day, now the mess he seems to be in, he is thankful for Aurelia but there is so much he wants to tell her, sow her…*sigh* but guys, the SWOON affect is not only with Aurelia but with BABY B oh. my. gosh. i seriously am in love with Ben for it! He calls her PEANUT, now OVARIES EXPLODE because it’s so sweet and even though he wanted to wish her away, he can’t.
Basically this is a case of CAT & MOUSE, the chase, the unsaid words, the adventurous…every time they seem to take a step something comes up, something happens, another time, another day…well, both Ben and Aurelia need to get their shit together and say it…GAH! I was fuming at one point yelling at my kindle DO IT DO IT DO IT!
Oh my heart, I am not sure I would have survived had I known what was coming. You will be shocked and better get some tissues handy because it’s a tearjerker. So sweet yet so heartbreaking…MF’s characters are always wonderful, this story alone is something NEW from her TO ME! I really enjoyed it, wish there was more of the sweet, the swoon, the funny and Baby B! Simply a beautiful story, re-read worthy and YES, made it to my TOP 2019 MUST READ list!

It’s been a while since I’ve read just a sweet romance without any suspense and danger in it. And I can’t even remember when was the last time I read a Melissa Foster book. I love her writing style and her stories but at some point life just got in the way and I lost track. But I am so happy that I got the chance to read and review her latest book, Call Her Mine. This is a friends to lovers story with a little bit of heartbreak (but trust me, those few pages are going to make you tear up) and a sweet as a pie baby girl that will capture your heart from the very start.
Ben and Rels are two great characters. They’ve been friends forever and had feelings for each other for nearly as long but their timing has always been off and they both kept their feelings a secret from the other one. In a way, they are at an impasse and they both need a push in order to sort things out. Imagine that push coming in the form of an adorable baby girl left at Ben’s doorstep. You can probably imagine the panic that overcomes Ben and the chaos that follows. The result of course is multiple funny situations and a baby daddy, so adorable that he can melt you your heart. But the situation also finally forces Ben to confront his feelings and reveal them to Aurelia. Of course, things are not hears and roses after that and there are more than one obstacles in their way: being a new parent and handling a new relationship and business on top of that, is definitely not a walk in the park. The strength of Aurelia and Ben’s relationship is tested on more than one occasion, but every single time they show that the love they have for each other and for baby Bea is more than enough to overcome everything thrown their way.
So, if you are looking for a sweet enemies to lovers story with a hint of heartbreak and a sprinkle of humor, look no further. This is the book for you. And if you’ve read some of Melissa’s other series, you will get to revisit with some of your favorite characters as well. So don’t waste any time and get your copy now 🙂

Call Her Mine is the first book in a new spin-off series Harmony Pointe from Melissa Foster. You will recognize some of the characters from the neighboring Sugar Lake series. This story centers around a billionaire venture capitalist and his book store owning best friend in a delectable friends to lovers/ surprise baby shake up.
Apparent unrequited love sets the scene as Aurelia moved a town over to get away from fawning over the man whom she adores but can’t have. The passion she has for opening this new book store is music to a readers ears as details are swirling around us. Life as she knew it is over!
Unbeknownst to her, Ben has been equally in love with her and just biding his time for the perfect opportunity to finally make his move. Her desertion of their routine threw him a curve ball, but the arrival of an unknown baby just might be the end of it all.
I highly recommend this story for anyone who enjoys a close knit group of family and friends in a steamy, small town romance sort of feel. Melissa Foster is the queen of wrapping characters around your heart! Just when I thought we were heading towards that happily ever after with no clouds in sight, she gutted me then beautifully put me back together again. Such an emotional journey!
No one can make me happy cry the way Melissa Foster does. I shed so many “this is so sweet” tears while reading Call Her Mine it’s not even funny. Ben and Aurelia have such a sweet and moving story it was just not possible for me to not feel everything throughout this book. Especially when Baby B came into the picture.
These two best friends had been in love with each other, but both too afraid to show their true feelings but once those feelings are set free? Holy swoon Batman! Their love is a thing of beauty. And when Ben’s precious daughter arrives on his doorstep things just get even sweeter. It’s almost like two love stories in one. You have the love that is overflowing between Ben and Aurelia then you get the love of two people falling head over heels for Ben’s daughter.
This is my first Melissa Foster ARC but I have some of her books in my TBR shelf. I got the ARC from NetGalley.
The blurb lured me in… I was actually excited to read this because I was in a book funk and I thought this book would get me out of it… but not really. It actually took me a couple days to finish it. I love the whole premise of the story—friends to lovers, its family oriented and it also touched on taking responsibility for your actions. It was actually quite romantic.
It was a tad bit fast-paced for my liking. I get that they were friends that had feelings for each other for a very long time but it was zero to sixty in just a short amount of time then throw in a baby in the mix and it was too much happening in one time. I wish it was prolonged/extended a little bit, after all, build-up is the key…
Everybody has a past, so I didn’t mind their backstory… what got my eyes rolling so much is that some of the dialogues were a tad bit cheesy for my taste. Don’t get me wrong, I’m the biggest romantic sap I know and I always love good ol’ cheese, but I didn’t think some of the lines were realistic and for me to say that, well it really was a tad bit loads of cheese but this is just my opinion. I’m just saying.
But overall I did enjoy the book… it was okay. The last couple of chapters were actually heart-wrenching so depending on how emotional you are, you might want to keep your tissues near.

Funny, sexy, and emotional, Call Her Mine is a great friends to lovers story. Aurelia is sassy, smart, and tired of pining after her best friend. Ben is a sexy and smart businessman, but he’s hopelessly in love with his best friend. Aurelia and Ben are just about the only ones who don’t realize that their feelings are returned. Their friendly sleepovers take another turn when an adorable baby shows up on Ben’s doorstep and changes his life. It’s hilarious to follow along as Aurelia and Ben try to figure out both their relationship and if baby makes three. Melissa Foster continues to build an entertaining cast in this spinoff from the Sugar Lake series.
Call Her Mine is the ultimate romance! Best friends that both have feelings they deny for the sake of their friendship, a CB’ing baby that makes you wish you could actually see pictures of what she does in the book, and enough steam to need a cold shower…this has too many moments to list, but I couldn’t stop reading. The best part? I was already counting down to the next book in the series before it was halfway through. The characters are amazing and hilariously candid. I love anything written by Melissa Foster, but this one has to be my all-time favorite so far!
I enjoyed this upbeat, well-written book. Aurelia and Ben are best friends and they both have unexpressed feelings for each other. The timing has never been right for them to get together. Then Ben is thrown for a loop when a baby is left on his doorstep. Aurelia offers to help care for the baby, and they start working together to figure things out. This was an entertaining book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Call Her Mine was the perfect read for my cool, relaxing Sunday! I DEVOURED this book, stopping only for a refill on my iced coffee and kiss my hubby. Ben and Aurelia are perfection! This small town, single daddy and best friends to lovers romance combines all my favorite jams. I am all about this book!! Ben is the most charming single dad around, my ovaries were busting like fireworks time and time again. Is there anything better than a single dad turning is playboy ways around to devoted daddy and finally recognizing his love for his bestie. I THINK NOT dolls!
Melissa Foster has the divine ability to create a connection within her characters that is so heartfelt even as the book is starting. I loved Ben and Aurelia from the start! Their instant banter and friendship is like a warm blanket on a cool day, I just snuggled in for the ride. Ben finely straddles the line of douchebag and charming billionaire. He doesn’t flaunt is bed notches or his money, but it’s all there under the surface. Once Baby B is left on his porch, he takes a complete 180 to my FAVORITE BABY DADDY! Gosh he’s so adorable with his clueless nature and bleeding heart for his baby. Aurelia has the patience of a saint. This man, leans on her unabashedly, but all the while, she loves it! While she’s desperate to move on from her unrequited love, Ben is desperate to hang onto her. Their first kiss is EVERYTHING!!
Ben and Aurelia’s romance is RED HOT! Their relationship moves ahead in light speed, creating this tight nit little family of 3. Every look, every touch is FIRE! I was completely addicted, that I couldn’t devour the story fast enough. There’s so much to love; the romance, the emotional tears, and that hilarious ending. Call Her Mine is one of my favorite Melissa Foster books to date!!
Ben and Aurelia have been best friends forever, but their timing has never been right. Ben has hinted several times at wanting “more” with Aurelia, but she always thought he was joking. Aurelia always wished for more with Ben, but thought he had permanently friend-zoned her. Both filling the void with meaningless one night stands, relationships. Both believing a friendship was better than not having the other in their lives. Both incredibly smart, successful, and dumb! At least in regards to expressing their true feelings. But life has a way of turning their lives upside down…
Call Her Mine is the first novel in the Harmony Pointe series. Can I just say OMG! Melissa Foster is a wonderful, amazingly talented author. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ALL of her series, but this one….WOW! I love secret baby stories and this one has one of the best, most surprising twists at the end. I loved Ben and Aurelia’s adventures in caring for Bea. The poop scenes were EPIC, laugh out loud! The ending had me crying, but cheering for the family of three in the end. Babies are truly a gift and a miracle! Loved this story! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Loving the start to this series! Ben and Aurela have been best friends who have avoided their true feelings for each other for years. When Aurela finally decides to make a move and essentially run away from the situation, a baby arrives on Ben’s doorstep saying she’s his child. Unable to leave her best friend without help, the pair navigates taking care of a baby with no prior knowledge, and find throughout the process the feelings they have for each other are unavoidable. As Ben and Aurela finally give into their feelings and attempt a relationship, the possibility of the baby’s biological mother threatens their relationship before it even really starts, however things aren’t as they seem with the mother and the situation. While I’m always a huge fan of Melissa’s books, I really loved what she did with this storyline! I can’t wait to see where she takes this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the story of Ben and Aurelia (Rels) and the first in the Harmony Pointe Series but could also be considered the next book in the Sugar Lake series. Though part of a series, it can certainly be read as a standalone (without reading the Sugar Lake series first) which is what I did. Though, once I finished it, I did go back and read the three Sugar Lake books. Ben is a drop-dead gorgeous bachelor who is not looking to settle down (or so everyone is led to believe) and Aurelia is his best friend. They’ve known each other since they were kids and are securely in the “friend zone” and is each other’s date for family functions/weddings/holidays etc. One morning, after a night of hanging out together, they find a baby girl left on Ben’s doorstep with a note attached stating she is Ben’s daughter. Ben FREAKS out and thank goodness Aurelia is there to help not only talk him down but to take care of this little bundle. Neither have much experience with an infant this tiny and so begins quite the adventure! The upcoming week turns into doctor visits and getting baby supplies and trying to figure out who the baby’s mother is and why she would leave her daughter with Ben with only a note. Aurelia does her best to help all while trying to get her new business up and running. It’s a stressful time for both of them and during all the chaos, Ben takes a HUGE step and finally admits to Aurelia his true feelings for her and how he has felt about her for years.
She is shocked but has also secretly been in love with him for years as well. But she wonders and is concerned about his motivation for admitting his feelings at that time (is it only because of her help with the baby?) and also what will happen once they learn, once and for all if the baby truly is his and what the complete story is behind her birth and the mother’s reason for leaving her so unexpectedly. Will the stress of getting those answers be too much for their new relationship to survive?
It’s a wonderful, wonderful love story – between Ben and his family, Ben and Aurelia, Ben, Aurelia and the new baby girl….you will laugh, possibly shed some tears and cheer out loud and these two, with the help of family and friends, figure out how and if their “new normal” is going to work out. Once you start reading, you will not want to stop! Another fantastic and fun adventure from Melissa Foster and that once again will not disappoint…
Call Her Mine is the first book in the Harmony Pointe series, a friends to lovers story featuring Ben Dalton and Aurelia Stark. I was immediately drawn to the synopsis of Call Her Mine, I adore Melissa Foster’s books and thoroughly enjoyed the Sugar Lake books featuring Ben’s siblings.
Single parent and secret baby tropes tick all my boxes. When a baby is left on Ben’s doorstep, it brings this pair of best friends even closer together as they struggle with the demands of parenthood.
As with most of Melissa’s books, Ben and Aurelia is a sweet story that has plenty of heat, heart and humor.
I would highly recommend reading the Sugar Lake series prior to reading Call Her Mine, as many of the stories of many of the characters who appear those titles, have their stories continues with Call Her Mine, and it will be confusing as the Dalton family is quite a cast of characters.
I adore the strong familial ties in this title and I loved seeing the other Dalton siblings, and I can’t wait for Piper to meet her match.
This was such an awesome story. First, I love it when best friends end up a couple. Then when you add a baby with two adults that don’t know how to take care of a baby, you get a whole lot of fun times.
Ben and Aurelia have been best friends forever. They have spent nights sleeping curled up to next other spooning, yet nothing beyond friendship has ever occurred. Each may want more, but neither is willing to admit it.
Aurelia decides the best thing for her is to move to another town and start fresh. She has a new apartment and a new bookstore that she now owns. She thinks being further away from Ben will help with what she believes is unacquainted love she has for Ben. But what happens with a baby is dropped on Ben’s doorstep and he needs her help taking care of the baby and help trying to find the mom of the baby.
Ben wakes one morning with Aurelia in his arms, which isn’t unusual for them. What is unusual is when Aurelia goes to leave Ben’s apartment and stumbles over what she thinks is muffins in a basket. To her and Ben’s shock, inside the basket is not muffins but a baby! A baby that is said to be Ben’s baby. Ben is freaking out while trying to figure out how this baby got on his doorstep. Luckily for both the baby and Ben, Aurelia is there to help. To bad she doesn’t exactly know how to take care of a baby.
This story is a whirlwind of sexy, funny and emotional. It may leave you in tears like it did me, but it is so worth the ugly crying. Such a beautiful story of love and friendship.
I’ll start by saying I usually love books by Melissa Foster, but this one fell a little flat for me. Ben and Aurelia have been dancing around each other for years, and when she finally decides to move on and moves to another town, then he suddenly decides to finally make a move.
When a baby is dropped off on his doorstep, Ben narrows down the possible mother to four women. He blames sleeping with these women on Aurelia, because she went out on dates those nights. I found that to be a weak excuse for his behavior. If he just came clean and admitted his feelings, all that drama could have been avoided.
At first he denies the baby is even his, and keeps calling her “it”. It was a poor reaction on his part, and I expected better from him.
A large portion of the book is the pair navigating instant parenthood. I felt it dragged on a bit in sections. I also thought when the baby’s mother finally does show up, Aurelia’s reaction was a bit over-the-top. Yes, I get she had gotten attached to Bea, but the way she got herself all worked up was a little much.
While this is the start of a new series, I would recommend that readers read at least the Sugar Lake series first. These books are about Ben’s sisters, and where Ben and Aurelia, are introduced. The characters from those books make appearances in this book. I think if readers haven’t read those stories, they are definitely going to feel like they’re missing something in regards to Ben and Aurelia’s history.
Overall, I thought the book was ok, but it wasn’t my favorite book by this author. I’m still looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of the Harmony Pointe series.
