A Texas Ranger, a lady blacksmith, a fierce passion, a dangerous game.Caleb Graham has spent the last four years in too many dangerous situations to count. As a Texas Ranger, he knows no fear, or at least he never shows it. When he’s sent to force a blacksmith off government seized property, he runs face to face into the woman who will change his life.Aurora Foster grew up on the very land the … the very land the obnoxious Ranger is trying to throw her off of. Her parents and her husband died for it and there is no chance she would leave without a fight. A lady blacksmith might be an anomaly but she has the strength of the steel she forges and the courage to fight for what she believes is right.
When Aurora is inadvertently injured by Caleb, he seeks medical help from a neighboring ranch. The sprawling hacienda is full of the finer things in life and the one person Caleb never expected to see again… his youngest brother Benjamin. Forced to flee from a man who has kept the boy captive, the trio become traveling companions in a deadly game where no one wins.
Life turns upside down and sideways for Caleb and Aurora, caught in a game neither of them expected while they desperately try to save the boy who was lost to his family. Pursued and hunted, the three of them ride for the Circle Eight ranch. The unlikely pair of rescuers fight their attraction and for their lives.

Opposite sides converge in a battle of wits
Good story but a bit explicit at times.
I really enjoyed this book. Very entertaining .
A tried and true pattern but worn a bit thin.
This story is for adults. It dose not beat around bush about sex. which takes away from the story.
This had a very good story line with the characters. It was a page turner.
Caleb Graham is a ranger sent to remove Rory (Aurora) Foster off the property that the Texas government sees as theirs. By law women aren’t allowed to own property during these times. Once Rory’s husband passes away the state wants to take the land and business from her. She isn’t willing to go down without a fight. When she becomes injured Caleb takes her to the Hacienda to see the doctor. This book has some steamy romantic moments, some mild romantic moments, intrigue and action, all rolled into one. A great 5 star read!
Choppy writing but introduced a whole cast of likeable characters to fill the next few books.
Great
Predictable but good.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I was intrigued by the quick moving turns as the story continued ! I have it 4 stars instead of 5 because I knew what the end was going to be. I still read it to the end. Most excellent!
Very enjoyable reading. A great read.
Enjoyed the 30’s atmosphere . Reminded me of other detective stories but with a female as the heroine
It was definitely fun.
It is a series so im reading the others.
Some of the best things about the novel “Caleb”, beyond interesting characters whom you either love or loathe, is that fact that it is historically correct … the worst part about the ‘good old days’ was the fact that women could not own property … a basis for this intriguing novel.
I found both lead characters to be strong, with their strength growing throughout the book.
I also found it a fast read, with a honestly “cant put down” theme … stayed up well past my bedtime to finish this book.
Not often I put novels on a ‘must read’ list, but if you’re looking for a shorter novel (under 175 pages), this is it. It’s a good read.
Filth, quit on page 2
