A Texas Ranger, a lady blacksmith, a fierce passion, a dangerous game.Caleb Graham has spent the last four years in too many dangerous situations to count. As a Texas Ranger, he knows no fear, or at least he never shows it. When he’s sent to force a blacksmith off government seized property, he runs face to face into the woman who will change his life.Aurora Foster grew up on the very land the … the very land the obnoxious Ranger is trying to throw her off of. Her parents and her husband died for it and there is no chance she would leave without a fight. A lady blacksmith might be an anomaly but she has the strength of the steel she forges and the courage to fight for what she believes is right.
When Aurora is inadvertently injured by Caleb, he seeks medical help from a neighboring ranch. The sprawling hacienda is full of the finer things in life and the one person Caleb never expected to see again… his youngest brother Benjamin. Forced to flee from a man who has kept the boy captive, the trio become traveling companions in a deadly game where no one wins.
Life turns upside down and sideways for Caleb and Aurora, caught in a game neither of them expected while they desperately try to save the boy who was lost to his family. Pursued and hunted, the three of them ride for the Circle Eight ranch. The unlikely pair of rescuers fight their attraction and for their lives.

Good read.
So Caleb, book three in the Circle Eight series, picks up a couple years after Brody ended. The youngest sibling, Benjy, is still missing and Caleb (the 3rd oldest) is now a Texas Ranger.
This story starts off with Caleb making a rare visit home before going out on an undesirable assignment. The reader is caught up on some events that have happened in the last couple years. Caleb loves his family, but doesn’t know his place and so he’s once again on the trail. His assignment is to run off a blacksmith who is squatting on government land. Little does Caleb know that the blacksmith is a woman. And imagine his annoyance when he’s actually intrigued by her. And so our adventure begins.
Let’s start with Rory, our heroine. I love that she’s a blacksmith. Especially in the time of this story, but even know, it’s typically known as a man’s job. But Rory is great at her work and is just a strong woman, physically and mentally. She’s not had an easy life, but she looks opposition in the eye and doesn’t back down. She’s exactly what I want to see in my heroines. And it was great to see her stand toe to toe with Caleb and not let him bully her around.
Caleb is trying to find his place in the world. He believes he needs to leave the family ranch to make his way, so he joins the Texas Rangers. Years later he’s restless until he meets Rory. Something about her challenges him and his life is changed forever. I love how lost Caleb is, but also how determined in life and even willing willing to fall in love with the unconventional Rory. But even more so, it was his actions when he discovered his long lost brother.
This series really should be read in order. These first three books have the overarcing plot of the search for Benjy that peaks in Caleb. I think a reader would be missing some important pieces of the puzzle if a book was skipped.
I really enjoy Ms Lang’s writing. I can picture everything as if I was right there. And the pages kept on turning. I couldn’t wait to see how everything turned out. I very much look forward to future books in this series.
My review originally posted at Romancing the Book.
Drags you in by your…. almost literally (lol)…. to read the story… a beautiful one…
fun easy read
This book was a easy read , as well as, a hard book to put down. It’s characters were interesting and fun. Loved it.
Great
Good reading
Not your normal damsel in distress story. Enjoyable reading
This story shows why you never judge a book by its cover.
I don’t know how authors come up with these story lines. Amazing.
Fun!
I read romance for a quick read and I loved the “western” feel of this book but the story line was too deep to take place so quickly. For pace to fit in one book it made sense but in reality it just didn’t. I finished it and that’s good because normally I won’t if I don’t like it at all.
I would not recommend this book. It could have been
a very good story however since it was so loaded with profanity and
sexual language it spoiled the story.
JMG
I just couldn’t get through the first chapter. It didn’t hold my attention or interest.
Fantastic read!
I like strong women characters. Would recommend!
I enjoyed the characterizations of Caleb and Rory. I admit I could have done without the numerous curse words, but I am certain others will not mind so much. I skipped over them as much as possible and read the story instead.
I enjoyed
This book was unique in its story line. Can be read as a stand alone or with the series. This is the first I’ve read. I liked it enough to be curious of the other family members’ tales. Just not crazy about the price.
Too descriptive for me, but I loved the story.
