Lieutenant Eve Dallas must immerse herself in her billionaire husband Roarke’s world of big business to uncover the identity of a hit man in this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series. On Manhattan’s East Side a woman lies dead at the bottom of the stairs, stripped of all her valuables. Most cops might call it a mugging gone wrong, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows better. A … Eve Dallas knows better.
A well-off accountant and a beloved wife and mother, Marta Dickenson doesn’t seem the type to be on anyone’s hit list. But when Eve and her partner, Peabody, find blood inside the building, the lieutenant knows Marta’s murder was the work of a killer who’s trained, but not professional or smart enough to remove all the evidence.
But when someone steals the files out of Marta’s office and the killer’s violent streak begins to escalate, Eve knows she has to draw him out, even if it means using herself as bait…

More death caused by others greed. And apart from the first death, I didn’t care about the next two.
A bit slow in edge of the seat entertainment this time. Lacking the gripping drama of other stories but enjoyable for the time spent with the gang and having the Icove Agenda movie premier happening.
Would have loved to have seen everyone all dolled up.
Eve makes a mistake and was a bit slow in not realising they would take out the crooked accountant before she could speak to him.
The ending was all tidied but just lacking a good polished finish.
Wish Eve had sorted that idiot Candida out.
I have owned most of these books in paperback for years but now have them all in eBook format, so I am rereading this series once more in order, updating and replacing missing reviews.
Even knowing what is in the future, it is absolutely no hardship to reread this series and I am really enjoying how all the characters are growing and changing.
I am almost at the point where I’m more behind on reviewing the books I’ve read in this series than the books themselves. I’m happy about that somewhat. I really wish I could get caught up on my reviews. Fingers crossed that will happen.
In this episode of Eve and Roarke, like how in my mind it’s like a tv show. That brings up a good question, why the hell isn’t it a tv show. Boy, that would be so good. Back to my review, As you guys might remember I mentioned getting behind of these books and now that I started reading them again I’m flying through them.
In Calculated in Death we are dealing with a killer who takes out an accountant. As with the past books, I really enjoyed this one. Robb has a way of writing that can keep me engrossed in the story and make me feel like I’m there with them. Of course, I’d most likely be arrested for stalking but it would be worth it.
As always the cast of characters makes the story. Eve might be a kickass lieutenant but like everyone in life, she needs help from those around her. If you’re a fan of a good mystery and romance (Eve & Roarke) then this is the perfect series for you. Start in the beginning and enjoy how the characters grow with time.
This is the first book I’ve read in the series and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long. A great read filled with action and romance. The year is 2060 and murders begin to mount as Lieutenant Eve Dallas of NYPSD hunts for an illusive killer who turns the tables and comes after her. Her amazing husband Roarke uses his tech know-how to help his wife find the killer(s).
There are plenty of suspects and it is fun trying to figure out the “who done it” as the plot escalates.
The only drawback I had was that this is not the first book in the series and when backstory was introduced it wasn’t clear to me since I hadn’t read the previous books. It also got a little long in one chapter when it went on and on about greed in a repetitious way. All in all, I enjoyed the book and I’m definitely going to read more of this series
I have read every book in this series to date. They can’t come out fast enough for me.
Awesome book
I love this entire series! I always look forward (impatiently) to the next release.

Love JF Robb’s death series
Intriguing police procedure in the future Love Dallas and Peabody.
she still has it …can’t wait for the next one
Eve tries to find the killer of an accountant — she has newly taken on an account and is almost immediately murdered. There are other murders that follow. As she tracks the suspects, we try to ascertain who the murderer could be.. Well done as always. The chemistry between Eve and Rourke is evident as always.
I have every book in the Eve Dallas series. I anxiously await each new book & read them immediately. I hope there are a lot more to come!
I have read the entire In Death series and always look forward to the next new release. I love this series!
All of the “In Death” series is fantastic.
I really like the series. When i got the first book, i thought, it might be sci-fy, but it wasn’t really. Just a more regular projection of the future. Just think, as a teenager, I didn’t expect cell phones or some of the other science advancements.
Love the character development over the series. Can’t wait for the next one.
I have read the entire series!
Love these books
A mix of SciFi and murder mystery, Ms. Robb’s story is calculated to keep you on the edge of your seat. Part of a series featuring New York City police detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas, the story layers futuristic touches with Lt. Dallas’s chase of a murderer among the rich and famous. I love the detective. Smart, sassy and all business, Dallas is focused on finding “her man.” It doesn’t hurt that her husband is smart and sexy, too. A great read.
