Everyone asks me why I’m so angry all the time. Let me count the ways.I threw away my dreams when I was forced to fight and beat men bloody for her, but she doesn’t even know it. Whenever I try to protect her, she pushes me away. I’ve been in love with her for three damn years, and she only sees me as a friend! After one monumental fck up, nothing will ever be the same between us, and I know that … fck up, nothing will ever be the same between us, and I know that I only have myself to blame.
Cain is the first full-length, MMA romance with a HEA in this three book series.*

This was my first book by this author & I couldn’t put it down. I really fell in love with Cain, Ivan & Knox. Great guys! They were always trying to protect Gabrielle & watch out for her. Cain had such a hard life & was willing to do anything for her. Such devotion. A real sweetheart. At times, Gabrielle really annoyed me. So naive, I also hated how she would always defend her awful brother. Her brother never loved her as much as Cain did. I would of like to have seen her step up more & be the kind of woman Cain really deserved. I felt like at times she was just dragging him down, holding him back.
If your looking for the “same old”, this story isn’t for you. I enjoyed this story because it was unique. Several twists that aren’t the usual. I loved these characters, and the “second” family they became. A great read for a lazy afternoon.
Love this so much that I immediately brought books 2 and 3 to find out what happened to the remaining characters. That is just how in tune I was with the story line. It kept you engaged and hoping for a happy ending. Great read!!!
Ending was a little weak. enjoyed the main story. learned alot about cage/fighting… likely more than i Want to know, yet – the price the characters pay – very sad.
4*
Gabrielle meets Cain in the home they both end up staying in. Having run away & no job Robbie Gabby’s brother turns to fighting but promises he will come for her. Unfortunately things don’t go to plan & Scarfone makes it clear he owns them!
Lovely start to another generation of cage fighters!!
Brilliant start to the “Out Of The Cage Series”.
I loved the Cocky Cage Fighters series & this book doesn’t disappoint.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Fighting for the right reasons
I just finished reading Cain and this isn’t your usual MMA book. The story starts when Cain is a 15 year old living in a shelter of sorts. The problem is this shelter isn’t sanctioned by the government but run by a criminal that only provides for the kids until they turn 18 then the boys go to work in an illegal underground fighting ring. The newest addition to the home is Gabrielle. Her brother took her there when he went to the fighter’s dorms. Gabby is going on 15 but like all the kids in this story, has seen more that most 15 year old’s should. The girls future is even more revolting than the boys because the organization has a strip club that they are sent to work at after turning 18. Cain’s and Gabby’s story will follow them until after they turn 18 and then the real meat of the story will take place. Lane Hart has written a lot of twists and turns in Cain and I definitely enjoyed it. This is a NA/YA story that is told in dual POV’s. These two have a lot of struggles along with an attraction that goes beyond lust. There are happy moments, difficult times, suspense and loving times too. Cain and Gabby have dreams beyond the criminal underbelly they have been forced into and are going to try to achieve them. I am looking forward to reading more in this series about the other young men from the home.
Wow! If your read the Cocky Cage Fighter series then you will absolutely love this book! You don’t have to have read the CCF series to get into this one. Its cool because in one of the CCF books (Luke) you see what happens when he went into the underground fighting to earn some extra cash. There you were introduced to Cain. From Luke’s POV he seemed like a total douche! This give you his side of the story and you get to know why he was such a jerk about the possibility of losing.
Gabby was sold to the mafia boss by her brother when she was only 14. That was when she met Cain. He was in a dark place, but the second he saw her he felt protective of her, maybe even love at first sight (but being 15 he wouldn’t have known that). You get a good amount of back story on these 2. Cain gives the phrase “fighting for the woman you love” a whole new meaning. He fights to keep her from having to strip (and other things) in the club. But he has to win. And just when you think that they are going to get their HEA…. you get thrown for a little loop…. and there is the cliffhanger.
So now I can’t wait for the next one!!!!
Cain by Lane Hart a five-star read that will leave you fighting for breath. This is the first book in the Out of the Cage series, and it looks set to be just as good, if not better that the Cocky Cage fighter series and that was one of the best series I ever read. My emotions have been all over reading this story, I started hating Cain he was the baddie in my eyes, but then when we got his story and everything was revealed my heart broke for him. Cain would do anything to save those he loves and I mean anything. I would give my left arm to have a man like Cain in my life. I can’t wait for more in this series. Get writing Lane or else I’m going to have to stalk you!!!
3 & 1/2 stars -rounded up. I voluntary reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
This started out kinda slow & it almost lost my interest. But it finally picked up & held my attention. There’s a lot of angst & communication issues between Cain & Gabby, the Hero & heroine. Cain is a tortured soul, with so much hidden depth. Gabby is a bit naive, a bit annoying & a bit selfish. But for some reason they fall for each other. Some twists & turns to the plot, but everything works out in the end.
Wow!!! If you LOVED the Cocky Cage Fighter series you will love this read. This is not your usual MMA book but this was such an amazing read that I was hooked from the very first page until the final words were read. Cain and Gaby had me intrigued with their story of survival. Cain protecting Gaby from all the elements and obstacles that were thrown their way from those closest to them and those trying to tear them apart. Be ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions that will have you begging for more……but so worth the ride!
I normally don’t read YA/NA romances but this one was great. I love Lane’s fighter romances. This book, especially, kept me intrigued from the very beginning. I recommend this book to anyone who loves fighter romances.
OMG Lane another great story and a brilliant start to a new series. Just loved Cain and Gabby’s story. They are to broken souls with pasts that they could only then pend on there self no matter the odds when they were growing up. This emotional story and i couldn’t put it down till i finished it. There’s lots of twist and turns for them both. They had chemistry that was off the charts, go on One-Click now to see if they get the HEA. I definitely recommend this story to everybody,I voluntarily read an advance reader copy. If you love your Alpha cage fighters then Lane Hart is your go to girl for them.
Cain is everything that I’ve come to expect from this author. This emotional, beautifully written tale grabbed hold and didn’t let go. It’s so much more than just an MMA romance. It’s a coming of age story of kids stuck between a rock and a hard place, doing what they must just to survive another day. Gabby’s innocence and Cain’s determination to protect that innocence from betrayals that she doesn’t even know about is like a light shining in the dark. Cain and Gabby have such good chemistry and they are so good together, but this story is about so much more than just this couple. Together with Ivan and Knox, this is a family born not of blood, but of shared hardship and struggles.
Lane Hart didn’t just tell me a story, she pulled me in to the lives of these characters. My heart broke right along with them as they clawed and struggled for their happily ever after. The only downfall for me was that I wanted more. Don’t get me wrong, the book ended perfectly, but I was so caught up that I wasn’t ready to let go. So, this reader will be not so patiently waiting for Ivan’s story.
