This book has been on my TBR list for a long time. I’m mad that I didn’t get to it sooner.
Loved it!
So dark and dangerous. So hot too!
Loved the plot, characters, and ending. The book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Well worth the read if you enjoy darkness with your romance.
I’ve read a few books in this series but I intend on reading them all in order this time. On to book 2!

I wish there were more stars. This is by far one of the most compelling to read, hot, intense, crazy wild books I have ever read. I was totally hooked by the intro and had to buy the book. I didn’t want to put it down or for it to end. Crazy, crazy intriguing. LOVED it. I can’t wait to find out more about this story.
They found love in a hopeless place.
I just loved this book so much. I fell for both the characters, Ella & Cage, right away. Cage was just the right amount of Alpha and possessiveness that I love in the main male character. Like I fell for him hook, line and sinker.
This romance was just perfect for me. It was right amount of build up between the MCs and the perfect amount of sex scenes too. I have no complaints about anything. I literally LOVED IT ALL. I read it in one sitting – gobbling it up wanting – no needing to know how they get their HEA.
This is a series I will continue and a book I will definitely re-read. And I don’t have KU
Taken from her bed Ella awakens in a glass cage.
A reward and potential breeder for her fellow captive and next-door cell mate cage.
Unwilling to accept her fate she fights it at every turn.
But at the same time, she also finds herself falling for the gruff and at times naive male who is not surprisingly just a product of his environment.
His glass prison has always been Cage’s reality that and the ring he fights in.
This life is all he’s ever known and until Ella’s arrival, he was content just following orders.
He’s almost like a child in his basic understanding of how things work and his lack of normal life experiences.
He has no reason to question or fight the status quo accepting everything he’s told at face value until now that is.
Ella’s presence changes everything for him, moving his goalposts entirely.
So this was initially interesting but things did start to get a tad unbelievable after Ella escapes the compound.
I definitely preferred the first half of this to the second and it was actually the second half of this story that pulled my rating down it was just so farfetched.
Still, I did finish and enjoyed it to a point once I managed to suspend my disbelief slightly but unfortunately there was just something missing for me with this one.
It was OK and at times I liked it, I just didn’t love it.

If you like dark and gritty, Clarissa Wild always delivers. Just be sure you have something light to pick up afterwards!
I really love this book. It’s my favorite out of the series.
This is a dark, gritty love story but it’s also captivating and intriguing. Desire and love born from the depths of despair define Cage and Ella. Ella is so darn strong. She conquers her initial fears of Cage and teaches him about a world he’s never seen or known. Cage is quite remarkable, too. This Although he was born in a cage and has lived in a cage his entire life his protection of Ella is life changing. He recognizes his need of her goes beyond the physical. Evil seems to come at them no matter how hard they try to escape it.
The best thing I can say about this book is that it has either good editors or the author has a great command of the English language with regards to grammar and spelling. That being said, it read like a 7th grader’s attempt in showing she knows about sex and babies and the psyche of a woman, when in fact, she really knows not much of anything. The beginning was fine… being kidnapped and kept in a cage alongside others… that part had me hooked. Then the unbelievable kept happening. Again and again. Spoiler alert: so many issues that are simply not factually possible… first, you can’t tell (even by ultrasound!) if someone is pregnant the day after they conceive! Continually gassing a woman unconscious with no dire effects on the unborn child? Um no. Don’t get me started on a man who is abnormally large having pounding, un-lubed anal sex with someone who has never had anal sex and she #1 likes it, and #2 isn’t ripped/torn wide open? Then there’s the scene where the main character is “pouring blood” for a ridiculously long time, at such an early stage (1st trimester) of the pregnancy, but the baby turns out to be fine?? I mean, really? I can go on… someone who has never seen a car, much less has the basic knowledge of how the pedals work, but he can drive his majorly wounded self and his mortally wounded father miles away to the nearest hospital? And then escape the hospital to eventually survive in the forest hunting and eating animals when he’s always been fed “ready to eat” meals? The suspension of disbelief just isn’t even possible in this story. I literally only kept reading because I wanted to see if dear old Dad showed back up. He did. For literally like one page. That, too, was pretty ridiculous. And book two has the happy couple WANTING to find the sweet, lovable long lost brother who HELLO– KILLED HER SISTER? Yeah, no. That will be an easy pass for me.
I liked and hated this twisted story, for the suffering done to the main characters, but then it wouldn’t be a good story with it. A very original story about a man who keeps another man caged to suit his own greedy and evil purposes. There’s lot of sex on here, so if you are squimish, this story is not for you.
A dark romance with interesting characters, even if a little unbelievable. But it’s not a cliff hangar, and it has a HEA after much toil and trouble. Some aspects were rather cringeworthy and others just flat out unbelievable, but overall, for the genre, it garners 4 stars.
A dark and twisted romance with a unique and captivating storyline. Loved it!
Enjoyed every page
The writing is good, but the author has no idea about the criminal justice system.
I ALWAYS finish what I am reading. No matter what, I finish what I start. Well, this book was just too weird and troubling and “out there” for me to even finish. The first book in my 58 years I haven’t finished.
Too dark and gruesome
This was a unique story and I really enjoyed it. The main characters were great- they had depth and were realistic. I liked how the heroine worked to understand the hero and really recognized how trapped he was as well- she was a little over-forgiving in my opinion, but that did make it very thought-provoking. I’m interested to read the rest of the series!
Loved it. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series
I loved how they fought for each other.
This book was definitely out of my normal it was very weird but I honestly couldn’t put it down I needed to know what happened
Hot and sexy with a twist!
