Will she be the one to lure the beast from the darkness?Galak, once the proud leader of his tribe, has become one with death and pain. They call him beast, and he’s earned the title. Living in a cage, being forced to fight to survive has made him the worst version of himself. Most nights, he wonders if he’ll ever find his way back again. Then she appears, dropped into the middle of the combat … appears, dropped into the middle of the combat pits.
He’s given an order to impregnate her or face the consequences. But he’s Roh’ilian and they don’t hurt women or take what isn’t given freely. Even the beast within won’t allow it.
Emerie, desperate for money, arrived at a research organization to participate in a medical study. With zero family to lean on, her back is against the wall. Instead of the pills she expected, she wakes up in a strange place surrounded by creatures from science fiction novels.
She’s given a choice: submit to the beast or be passed from cage to cage until she gives her captors what they want – a successful mating between a human and alien species that results in a child. But Emerie just wants to go home. Even if there’s nothing for her to go home to.
She’s seen the beast’s incredible power firsthand. She also sees how he looks at her. If he wanted to, he could take her without question. Instead, he surprises her. Is it possible the beast has a soft side? And how far is he willing to go to make sure she remains unharmed?

In the darkness find your light
Such an amazing story! I love the characters! These just stole my heart with the pain they have had to suffer. I love the instant connection, and how gentle he is with her in an impossible situation. The author kept the action and danger coming while these two characters worked together to find a way out. I enjoyed how they found strength in each other and the people who helped them along the way. This book is a fantastic series starter! And the author set us up perfectly for the next book and I can’t wait to see what happens!
I am on a missing to finish every book by this author before the end of the year… Ahhh-mazing story and unique. In a world full of alien romances, this one stands out with great world building and very well thought out characters. Galak is super alpha… He’s possessive and protective of Emerie. Love this series!
This was an interesting read. I like that they could understand each other right off even if I don’t think they should have. It takes out an aspect to an alien/human dealing. But this was a good read. Captives that need each other to make it. Galak aka Beast and Em or Emerie are in a pickle but they push through it together. They battle and hold onto each other when the outside is working against them. Add in a prison break and this book is hot.
New fav
This book is completely different from the Alien Bride series in a very good way. It is darker, more emotional and dramatic and “steamier”… All in all, a real surprise from Luna that I loved. The characters have depth, and we get to see how much they have suffered and how they evolve throughout the story. The plot is well-built, the dystopian world is interesting, there is a lot of action and a lot of steam! The book is fast-paced and l think longer than the other books, however I read it in one go. I am really waiting anxiously for the next book in this series 🙂

New author for me. I enjoyed this book and before I knew it I had read the whole thing in one sitting. THe story kept me engaged and really flowed. Luna is a new author for me and I immensely enjoyed this book. Luna put a lot of effort into this story that it was no time at all before I was at the end. Very engaging and interesting. I would recommend this book to others who want a good paranormal suspense romance romp!

This is a new author to me & I found this marvelous Sci-Fi alien romance, a pleasure to read. The plot is interesting & filled with suspenseful situations. There is good scene descriptions & world building. The characters are well-developed with good chemistry although they display extreme defiance and/or determination at times.
There is: a young human female (Emerie Banks) desperate for money-decides to participate in a three week medical study that presumable has something to do with medication only to discover that she is expected to breed with a alien when she is basically thrown into a cage with an alien Roh’ilian warrior (Galak), various kinds of aliens, a Crorix colony, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, deceit, betrayal, alien scientists, devious plans, unethical experiments, memories, manipulations, blackmail, threats, danger, conflict, violence, injuries, confrontations, explosions, contentment, steamy scenes, love, happiness & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion with a interesting ending that gives a tantalizing glimpse of the next book in the series. I enjoyed reading this Sci-Fi alien romance & would recommend it.
A good quick read for when your brain is fried and you want something sexy! Winged aliens are always fun.
This book is standard nothing really new to add to the typical abduction of an earth female by an alien genre. Emerie seemed to have no sense of self preservation when she went to the seedy part of town and basically said you guys could kill me and dump my body and no one would come looking. She did start using her brains thankfully as the story went on.
Galak had been held hostage for years according to what he said and he never tried to escape? His species treats females with care and consideration so when Emerie was dangled in front of him as motivation for the bad guy to continue testing his concoctions on him his protective instincts went full force and he said yes.
There are a lot of things that don’t make sense in this story. Where is Emerie? Is she on a new planet or a spaceship? How did she get there and why can she understand all of these new species? Galak had never seen an earth woman before, but he knew how to get her off and pretend like they were really doing it to fool the captors, are but a few of the things that made it hard to really buy into everything that was happening.
Once these two decided to give the bad guy what he wanted it was non-stop sweating up the sheets time for quite a bit. Yes I know she needed to conceive but after a bit it just got repetitive.
Both of them were actually likeable characters. The bad guys were your typical over the top caricatures that made me sigh and roll my eyes. So while the two leads were good, for me the material really needed something unique to make it stand out from other alien abduction stories.
