Rumor has it the water on Clan McPherson lands is magical….
Clan McPherson has known peace amongst their neighboring clans for more than one hundred years. That peace is threatened when Fiona McPherson is made chief after the death of her husband.
Known more for her fighting skills than her beauty, Fiona refuses the multiple proposals of marriage that begin to seemingly arise from nowhere. She … arise from nowhere. She may be the chief of her clan, but she’s still a woman. It isn’t Fiona they want, but her land and she’s willing to fight to the death to keep it.
Rumor has it Caelen McDunnah has lost his mind…
Called McDunnah, the chief of Clan McDunnah, has no desire to remarry. He’s perfectly content to still mourn the loss of his first wife and babe, even if it has been sixteen years. Until he meets the beautiful and feisty Fiona McPherson.
Known to start a fight out of sheer boredom or madness — no one is ever truly sure which — Caelen suddenly finds himself in the middle of battles he has no desire to fight, but fight them he will if it means he can have Fiona McPherson as his own.
There is always a wee bit of truth in every rumor.

I like the book but I really have issues with serial books. I could have purchased the box set for what I paid for the followup books. Some of the writing was a little stilted and there were typos but it is a good read.
Great book. If your all into the historical correct and everything being “right” this ones probably not for you but if your all into a nice easy romantic read this would be your book.
There were places when I chuckled out loud and others where I feared up! I loved this book! Couldn’t put it down!
I loved this book but it is one in a series of 3. Each book does not stand alone. I was drawn in after the first book and quickly read through the whole series. I love a good Scottish Romance.
Good story. Didn’t realize it was not a stand alone. Have to read entire series to finish the story.
Excellent read
Got the first free. Worth buying the remainder of the story.
Enjoyed it. Had humor and plot and romance
Delightful story, the characters and dialogue were very real.
I was distracted by the use of the word “me”
example “oh me eyes me lord me wishes they could see” ( ok I made that up don’t care enough to go back to the book). “Me” was used at least 3 times per paragraph. (Ok I didn’t count but it was excessive). The the book ends abruptly which was so stupid I think they thought I was gonna run right out and …
To drug out, lost interest.
Really enjoyed this book. Not I already know ending type of plot, few twist here and there! Would like to read more from this author!
Loved it!
