It was so much more!” ~ Audiobook ObsessionFrom Amazon Bestselling Author, Dakota Willink, comes the first book in the Cadence duet—a second chance romance that will leave you … Cadence duet—a second chance romance that will leave you breathless!
One summer. One touch…
Cadence Riley didn’t have time for guys—no matter how potent their smiles were. She knew better than to fall for someone like Fitz Quinn, the spoiled bad boy son of a wealthy politician. But the second he spoke to her, she knew she was in over her head. He was a gorgeous trouble maker with a cocky attitude. Her heart warned her, but she didn’t listen. There was something protective and good beneath the bad boy exterior that made her insides flutter. Before she knew it, she fell hard and fast.
Fitz wasn’t prepared to meet a girl like Cadence. She was shy and innocent—and nothing like the girls who usually flocked his doorstep. How could he resist her mile-long blond hair and emerald eyes? He knew he shouldn’t want her. His father already had other plans for him and a relationship with her could never go beyond the summer. He thought their stolen kisses by the lake were only supposed to be a summer fling. Falling for her shouldn’t have happened. But it did.
Now the clock is counting down until Fitz has to return to the life that awaits him in Washington D.C. As September draws closer, how will they survive the end of everything they’ve come to love?
*Cadence Untouched is a 60k word, full-length, new adult romance novel. The second book in the duet, Cadence Defined, releases February 26, 2019!

Wow. Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Cadence is heading up her family’s summer camp for the first time. Then Fitz happens. She thinks he is a party frat boy who is nothing but trouble. But after a few weeks they get to know each better. Their friendship starts to evolve but as the norm fate has a different version in mind.
Great read.
“From the sounds of it, St. Peter is having a good game of bowling with the angels”. Best line of the whole book. This book could have been awful and just based on this line I would have given it 5 stars. Luckily for me I loved the whole book. But my reasoning is my grandma used to tell me this exact thing when I was little. It brought back some wonderful memories of her when I read that.
This was such a sweet coming of age first love story.
It does leave off on a cliffhanger however book 2 is already out (I will be reviewing that next).
Sometimes the right person changes who we are in the best ways and that is what Cadence did for Fitz. And sometimes no matter what, a person is always with us.
Cadence is a 18 and wants to show her parents she can handle Welcome day at their camp, Camp Riley. This is a performing and creative arts camp. She first meets Fitz on the first day when he came up to her and started to flirt. She knew all about him. Fritz and his friend were sentenced to the camp for community service for messing up. While Cadence is sweet and innocent, Fritz is a spoiled rich kid that gets his way. This was a good read. I didn’t like that it left off in a cliffhanger but now i need book 2.
This book pulled me in almost immediately. I have never read this author but like another review I read, I enjoyed her writing style. The characters are well developed and the story was excellent. Though I need more after the way the book ended. It was definitely worth the read.
This book was great. Yes it was another bad boy and a good girl meet. sparks fly. But this had a twist you wouldn’t of thought and the getting to know each other was great. The Author really made you take notice of both the good girl and the bad boy. The way the twist hit and left you was tough. The author had me involved so much I couldn’t wait to read the next one and see how she was going to make this story run into the next book.
Holy wow! So much excitement, angst and heartbreak all in one book! I loved this story so much. Cadence and Fitz’s characters were so easy to relate to and had so much chemistry that seemed to poor out page after page. Yes, it does end on a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to read the second part! Dakota did a phenomenal job!
This book is truly so well written it is amazing. The author does a great job jumping back in time and the accuracy of details is amazing. Cadence and Fitz has a love story and timing has left the love story open. It really gives young love a chance for an epic story. Loved this read you won’t want to miss it!!!
What happens when a spoiled rich kid meets a sweet, innocent young woman at a summer camp. “Fire works”.
Cadence is in charge of running her parents music & performing arts summer camp. Fitz is a politician’s son who gets into trouble while at college. He and his friend are sentenced to perform community service at the Summer Camp.
Fitz and Cadence’s first meeting does not go over well.
As they begin to spend time together over the summer, feelings develop between them.
Fitz never thought he would fall for Cadence or her for him.
He has a secret he’s been keeping from her that will change everything. Will there young love survive?
This heartbreaking story is about first love and about two different people cadence & Fitz! Def a whirl world of emotions a short story but worth it and can’t wait to read more!
This is a duet – you are left hanging a little bit, but I read this one because I knew the next one would be released by the time I finished. I can honestly say that I did not really care for Cadence or Fitz when we first are introduced, however I did enjoy Cadence indifference to his looks and status. They both grew on me though because the Author did a great job weaving a story that pulls you in and makes you become invested. I loved the 90’s music references throughout and the multi-faceted camp was a cool idea. I pretty much guessed the plot but that was fine with me because I am looking forward to what 17 years in the future brings….
First for me by this author, this is a sweet story of a girl who is so terribly innocent and though I didn’t really like her attitude at the beginning she did start to grow on me. Fitz, on the other hand, I loved right away. His past really does affect who he has become.
Neither one knew that their lives were going to change because of a summer and I don’t think if they knew they would have changed it either. There is just something about a summer love that you can’t regret no matter where it will take you when the summer ends.
It’s no secret this kind of innocent’s isn’t my favorite it seems predictable to me. Maybe because of the hundreds of books before that always have the same storyline no matter how much you like the characters. I didn’t not like the story like I said sweet but I was looking for something more I guess.
I am looking forward to book 2 because like I just said it was a sweet story and I want to find out how it is going to end.
I love Zachary Webber’s voice so for him to be Fitz for me it was perfect. Lacy Laurel is a first for me and I like her voice I just sometimes felt like she was just saying the words. Not bad by any means just ok.
Cadence Untouched was such an amazing first book. Two young people from two completely different worlds fall in love with each other. They both know they cannot be together, but are willing to risk spending time together. I love the playfulness of the characters. The story is real. It’s focused. It’s definitely real life situations.
Great Story & Audible Listen Heartfelt & Touching!
Cadence Untouched
Cadence Duet, Book 1
By: Dakota Willink
Narrated by: Zachary Webber, Lacy Laurel
Wow, just wow!! This is a beautiful story, it captivated my attention from start to end. I adore Dakota Willink’s writing style, the way she creates and tells her stories. She draws you right in to the story, brings you along side the characters. The two lead characters, Cadence and Fitz, are from different worlds but they just clicked like they were meant for each other and destined to fall in love. There is so much to this story, it grabbed my heart, wrung it out and then crushed it. Dakota Willink thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to ‘Cadence Defined” and for you to mend my broken heart.
I listened to the Audible edition, Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel are fabulous narrators and voice performers. They bring the characters to life and give them heart and personality. They are talented storytellers who know how to entertain their listeners.
This is the first book in the Cadence Duet. This is a great introduction to Cadence and Fitz’s story! The story is well written, captivating, and heartbreaking. I love Cadence, she is a great and beautiful character. Fitz is an intriguing character. I have a Hate/Love about him. His story is heartbreaking. The story ends with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book in this duet, to know what happens next! Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber did an amazing and an emotional narration together. This is a great team author/narrators. I totally recommend it. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Young love. The twist that ends their love. Can they make it back. Left u wanting it to keep going.
This is an emotional book. I ugly cried…quite a few times. It also ends in a “to be continued…” but the next book comes out in a few days. (That will give me tie enough to recover lol.) Cadence is sweet and innocent and Fitz is neither of those. Well he does get sweet but you need to read about that. Oh and I love Dahlia, the playful pup.
Dakota Willink gave the right title to this book Cadence Untouched.
I would describe Cadence as innocent, naive, but determined, driven and self confident till she meet Fitz Quinn, at her parents summer camp. She saw him as a bad boy, with a chip on his shoulder. He saw her, knew better but couldn’t resist. What started as young love, puppy love went beyond and he knew, there love couldn’t be, but kept his secret anyway, till a few days before he was to backup and leave.
A line that stood out in my mind was made by Cadence “I have no regrets, and I’m going to keep it that way”.
Audiobook Obsession gave me this audible book for a fair and honest review, Thank you and, Dakota Willink. Also Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber your narration was fantastic.
Omg, this was such a great opening to the beginning of the Cadence Duet! While, I did find it to be predictable (on some things), it was still fun to listen to how the story plays out to the end. This will definitely make you run to get the next book to see how it all plays out. Zachary and Lacy did a great job narrating.
Audiobook Version:
Let me start by saying it took me several days to get my head around this book and be prepared to write my thoughts. From the beginning of the book, I had an idea of where the book was going to end but Dakota never failed to leave me guessing. I had a love-hate relationship with this book – don’t get me wrong, I loved it! But I was so frustrated at times for the characters. I have so many parts of this book that stuck with me. I find myself recalling them and getting emotional all over again. The characters were easy to connect with yet so complex. I loved the chemistry and dynamic that Dakota gave us. I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone so I will just say, I loved it and I hated it! But- Book 2 will be out in just a few weeks – which is perfect as I need some processing time. Can’t wait to continue this amazing story.
Narration was fantastic. Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber gave amazing performances. They were a pleasure to listen to and really brought the characters to life. Loved it!

5 star Review Cadence Untouched (Cadence Duet #1) by Dakota Willink
Audio Review
Dakota Willink is a new author to me and although I have listened to narrator Zachary Webber numerous times, Lacey Laurel is relatively new to me. Cadence Untouched was certainly brought to life by the narrators who did a fantastic job.
This book was not like I expected; just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, boom I am thrown totally for a loop.
Despite herself Cadence Riley finds herself falling for bad boy Fitz Quinn and he is equally attracted to her even though they both know that it can only be temporary,
This book was not like I expected; just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, boom I am thrown totally for a loop. I really cannot wait to find out what happens in the second book.
