Magic & MayhemCiar is the epitome of both. The bane of my existence. Well, he used to be. Instead of letting me wade out into a world I was no longer a part of, alone – he came with me. To discover my Triad, to discover myself. The former bane of my existence is now the only reason I still have one. Now, he’s all Fae male and looking at me with a new hunger in his green eyes. He’s making a … eyes.
He’s making a claim and telling me that there will be more. Two more, in fact.
What the hell am I going to do with three of them?
This is a slow-burn Reverse Harem novel, or as I like to call it, “Multiple Mayhem.”

This book blew me away, right from the beginning I was hanging on every word, and charmed by the characters. I absolutely loved Ciar and Cary, and was intrigued by the plot twists which kept me on my toes, and desperate to find out more, I can’t wait to get started on the next book to find out whats next for Cary’s triad and her growing family, I have a feeling this series is going to be amazing. As always Melissa Schwairy’s narration was beautiful and helped bring the book to life. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
What to say about Cadence of Ciar? Have you ever read a book with a little grin that you can’t seem to keep off your face? That was this book.
I throughly enjoyed reading this book. Zoe Parker has a wonderful talent for taking the world of the Fae and turning it on its head. You will not find a stereotypical Fae world here. The characters are absolutely wonderful and you can’t help but love them and to allow yourself to become invested in their story.
Keri is incredibly sweet and yet a bit naïve of the world around her. She grew up very sheltered & doted on by most of her caregivers, after her mother tried to kill her when she was a child. The one person in her life that didn’t shelter her was Ciar. He knew she’d eventually need to know how to take care of herself to took it upon himself to train her as best he could.
She starts out a tad bit negative and in denial about Awakening to her powers. She just wants to go back to her sheltered life and not be powerful. Power isn’t something she seeks, unlike soooo many others in this future world of Fairie and Earth combined. She does eventually begin to embrace her fate and want to learn how to harness her powers.
This is a RH and we get to meet all the guys in this book, Ciar is the 1st member of Keri’s Triade. What a wonderful 1st addition he is too! The other 2 members we start to get to know towards the end. So those relationships are not as developed yet.
There are some minor conflicting information scenes within the book. None of them are major plot points so do not seriously detract from the story. Overall I don’t have anything negative that impact the story as a whole.
I would definitely recommend this book. Just make sure you walk into it realizing it’s completely different from Zoe’s other series, and the world of Fae is not your typical one.
Zoe Parker is incredibly talented at ensnaring one with her fantastical stories. I loved Cadence of Ciar; from the characters and their world to the storyline. So, so good!
I love the depth and complexity of Parker’s writing. This story has action, feels, humor, and romance. While this story isnt quite as dark as the Facets of Feyrie series, it does touch on some of those themes.
Parker gives her characters such depth. Keri is a strong, caring, and at times vulnerable MC. There were a couple times where I thought Keri was being oblivious to some signs, but I thought her willingness to give others the benefit of the doubt was also part of who she was. I like how she is a partner with the guys. I’m amazed how well I got a feel for Tricks personality through Keri’s interaction with the his gollum. Keri and Ciar are such strong characters and already have such a strong bond. Rime annoyed me at times, but once his behaviors were explained, it made sense. I’m looking forward to seeing Keri’s relationships develop with the guys. I’m looking forward to book 2 in this series.
