The first heart-pounding instalment in Mason Sabre’s Paranormal and Urban Fantasy, Society Series. What seems like an innocent run in the woods, might just end Cade MacDonald’s life…Cade MacDonald is a man who has always had a sense of right and wrong. He fights for justice and does not back down in the face of danger. As a member of Others, a supernatural race of powerful, fierce shifters, who … powerful, fierce shifters, who do not accept or sympathise with any Humans, or any race other than their own, he now finds himself in a battle with the Other Society’s leaders as they oppose his attempt to save the life of a young half-breed.
Fighting to do the right thing, Cade is simultaneously faced with the unexpected attraction he feels for his best friend’s sister. Having grown up with Gemma, he is confused and torn at the strong pull of his wolf towards this beautiful tiger.
Willing to accept any repercussions of his rebellious actions, will he go as far as to lose the love of his life in the process?

Amazing! I love reading Mason Sabre books. This is the second book in The Society series. No words can explain how well this book was written. This book is about forbidden love, loyalty, betrayal, undying friendships. Mason Sabre has become one of my new favorite authors! This is Cade and Gemma story. It had me turning pages as fast as I could. I did not want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Keep up the amazing work! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. i HIGHLY recommend this series to EVERYONE!!!!!
One of the very best things about Mason Sabre’s Society Series is the absolute rawness of his writing. It feels personal–intimate even. Cade is exceptional in its establishment of the Society, Humans, and Others. Cade MacDonald is a wolf shifter in love with a tiger shifter. It is a forbidden romance and punishable by death. The lengths Cade will go to to protect Phoenix and Gemma will be the ultimate test. As the events of the story unfold, it becomes obvious that this is just the beginning of something revolutionary.
A must read for PNR and urban fantasy fans. Truly worth five stars.
I am not sure what year this was set in nor the location. It has to be in the UK area due to the verbiage within the story, which was fine. At times it almost seem as if it was another planet or world. It was very confusing at the beginning since they were talking about Humans and Others. It took a while to figure out that this author uses the word Others rather than shifters. The story line was good and it was an interesting story just hard to read. This book left lots of open questions that I am guessing could be answered in other books in the series. This author takes a different approach to shifter stories. I would say read it and judge for yourself. A personal taste should not influence other readers. I did like the story but not my type of shifter book.
I enjoyed every word, felt every emotion!
The author gives you a fantastic description for this book…this is how I felt reading it… I became captivated by his words, he has a way to draw a perfect picture in your head, down to the smallest detail. I can see things brighter, hear thing better, smell things richer and where I can almost reach out and touch what I am reading. His words came to life as I was turning page after page drawing deeper into this paranormal world of wolves and tigers. There is friendship, protectiveness, strong bonds and of course love! This second book of the Society Series has a strong plot, stronger characters and an amazing writer who has an awesome imagination that gives you his all!
I highly recommend this book … I truly believe you won’t be disappointed!
Cade is the second book in the Society series by Mason Sabre.
Cade’s story is action-packed, emotional, and all around a fantastic read. Cade is a protective, loving shifter who protects the ones he loves. I was captivated and drawn into the story from the very beginning. It makes you feel as you’re right there in the story with how everything is described. You’ll laugh, you may get upset, I sure did, but you’ll also feel hope as well.
Mason is an amazing writer. The story had lots of violence and a little happily ever after at the end. Too much pain for me. I’ve reluctantly opted not purchase anymore books from this series. However, because I love this authors writing style, I plan to search for other books that may be available. I highly recommend this story.
This was such a great story! It broke the paranormal mold. There were so many layers to this story. I enjoyed that this book was thought provoking but by no means preachy. I must say the chemistry between Cade and Gemma was palatable! They had some very sensual encounters. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Cade and Phoenix evolve. On the other hand it was tough to see Stephen react the way he did towards Gemma and Cade. But sometimes, you hurt the people you love the most. I highly recommend this book and the series. Be sure and pick up “The Rise of the Phoenix” in order to fully enjoy this read. Get ready to lose yourself in this heart stopping and emotionally fueled story!!
I really enjoyed this book. The story kept my interest. I would recommend it.
So-so story
I did not care for this book and did not finish it.
