Cade Terence, a former SEAL, has spent the last two years physically recovering when his unit’s truck drove over an antitank landmine. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. The father of Laszlo, a member of his unit, was in a hit-and-run. Investigating this accident leads Cade and … and other members of the team on a trail with very definite connections to the original incident that nearly got him and the entire squad killed.
Faith Halladay is a commercial airline pilot. When her best friend Elizabeth is in a serious accident that leaves her in a coma and threatens to steal her life, she rushes to Norway to sit vigil at her bedside. There, she meets Cade, who asks all sorts of questions about the accident that she can’t answer. The attitude Elizabeth’s family displays when they lose hope that their daughter will survive stuns Faith, leading to a heated confrontation.
Cade’s endless questions now have her asking her own. She reconnects with him only to discover that her relationship with Cade has put her in a killer’s sights, and the nightmare that’s become his world is now her own.

I’m really enjoying this series, book 3 is finally getting answers. In the mystery of why they were led astray on a mission extra details come to light. Family members are in too many car accidents to be a coincidence. Great suspense and action in this book as well as some loving. Great chemistry between Cade and Faith. I loved it.
Another trip to find out who was behind their bombing and responsible for their injuries. The latest news takes them to Norway. Where they find more disturbing news about the “accidents” to friends and family members. Laslo is the only one who speaks Norwegian so that makes it difficult on the others.
Cade and Talon share a cab from the airport with Faith. She’s a pilot who just missed grabbing the cab with her crew. There is really nothing more than a shared ride and some curiosity.
Badger has more issues and Kat declares he can’t be on point for now. Much to his dismay, Erick becomes the main contact, so he’s there for Honey as she supports Kat.
As Cade, Talon and Lazlo start putting together the facts about accidents that have taken family from them, it becomes obvious there is some kind of connection to the mission that almost took all their lives. With Lazlo’s father injured but still alive they head to Norway to investigate further.
In a twist of fate, Elizabeth, Faith’s best friend is in a coma after a car accident, also in Norway. It’s at the hospital they meet again.
More and more facts come to light and they find Faith has seen the illusive person of interest and actually gets on his radar. Not a good thing.
Fast paced suspense and a slow but steady romantic build make this a favorite. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
The hell some go thru & can still find their sunshine.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Ok don’t start this book late at night like I did. Once you start this, you will not want to put this down. This book has a sub-plot that started with the first book Badger. A group of SEALs are caught in an explosion; one died and the rest are maimed for life and discharged. They believe that the explosion was no accident of war. This book carries on with the team’s investigation while bringing together the two protagonists of this story Cade and Faith.
This was a gripping book and it was very hard to put down. I am so looking forward to book number 4 of this series. Once this series ends, I will be re-reading it from start to finish with no delays. The characters are wonderful and I really hate to see the books end but the characters at least reappear in future books so you really don’t say good-bye to them. I really don’t have the imagination and I’m in awe of Ms. Mayer’s creatively ability to write such stories. I look forward to all of her books. They are definite keepers.
Dale is a fantastic writer. I love her books and laugh a lot and sometimes even cry a little. Keep them coming
Cade by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Steel Series Book Three
Cade Terence is in charge of the next leg of their mission. Along with Laszlo and Talon, they head to Norway to find out if their latest theory could be right. It’s too unreal to imagine to be true…but it looks like it might be. As if their team hasn’t been through enough the past two years, now they have to deal with something even more sinister.
Faith Halladay got a call that her best friend is dying. At least one good thing is that as a commercial airline pilot, she can fly free. The last person she’d ever imagine meeting in a Norway hospital is the handsome guy she shared a cab with. Only, as Faith finds out, it’s not a good time to know him.
The mystery continues. The guys have a few more clues…but more questions than answers. And they are finding out how dangerous it is for anyone to have a connection to them. Really good series. The romances are completed in the books…the mystery is not.

With each book the mystery deepens in regards to what happen 2 years ago to the team and shows that there is way more to it than just wanting to wipe them out. After working out whoever is behind their accident has also targeted their families in a horrific manner they head to Norway where they bump into Faith who has rushed their to be with a friend in need. I love how this is such a great mix of the guys trying to find out more, Faith trying to be there for her friend and dealing with the family along with Cade and Faith getting closer. I did feel Cade and Faith didn’t have as strong a connection as the other women but I actually really liked it as some relationships take long to build on. I am counting own until the next book and hope we get a big break in the case!!
These just keep getting better!
What a fabulous series! The SEALS of Steel are HOT!! Cade is the third book in this exciting new series! Eight men in their military truck were blown up by an anti-tank mine. One died, the remaining seven are severely injured, missing limbs and very slow to heal. Suspicious that the blast was intentional, these men are determined to find answers. Cade and a couple of his buddies travel to Norway to check on fellow SEAL, Lazslow, whose family is not well and end up meeting sweet, beautiful, Faith, a commercial airline pilot.
What a wild ride this story has turned out to be! I just love the brotherhood and support Cade and the guys from his Unit have as well as the support received from other active and non-active military units. They are as close as any family can get and all have similar injuries and painful memories.
I love the empathy in this story. Faith’s best friend, Elizabeth, has suffered injuries in a horrible car accident and is in a drug induced coma so her body can hopefully heal, but her chances of survival are slim. Faith is constantly at Elizabeth’s bedside giving her encouragement to hang on.
This story has such sweet, touching moments. So many people who are suffering have a built in support group of their friends that understand their situation and their pain. It also slams you into a cold harsh reality of murder and unbelievable hate that people can feel towards one another. It’s hard and gritty in its intenseness when these men are looking for answers into the automobile related accidents that seem to be too coincidental as well as the circumstances surrounding the bombing. It also gives you hope that we all wish for someone to care enough to be at our side in support and sympathy when we would need it the most.
And there is the hot, sexy attraction between Cade and Faith that they don’t even try to deny. A fast paced, fantastic story that you can’t put down! I’m excited for book 04! Excellent job! I loved it!
Books are my one great escape. A chance to disappear into someone else’s life for just a few hours.
This is the 3rd book in Dale Mayer’s Seals of Steel. I will mention that in order to fully understand all that is happening in this book it’s advisable that you first read her Seals of Honor series and books 1 and 2 in this series. This book centers on Cade and Faith.
Cade and Faith first meet when they share a cab after a flight home for Cade and Faith was the pilot for the plane he flew in on. Then they meet again through a twist of fate in Norway where Faith has gone to see her childhood friend that has been involved in an accident and is in a coma. Cade is there with his friend to check on the condition of his elderly dad who was involved in a hit and run.
As Cade and the group follow leads trying to figure out who is doing all the killings of family members and friends that seem somehow to be connected to their truck hitting a landmine which killed one and severely injured 7 more, two years ago.
As this book goes along we get one or more pieces of this puzzle but are left needing to know more about who done it.
This book, like all the others is exciting and action filled with lots of mystery thrown in. And let’s not forget the chemistry between Cade and Faith.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book and recommend you grab yourself a copy and follow this mystery as it unravels.
Investigating is leading to more questions and speculation…
CADE, brings us to Bk 3 in the Seals of Steel series. Oh boy, the plot is getting deeper and takes a decidedly twisted, heartbreaking turn for the Seals of Steel team. As Cade and fellow teammates travel to Norway to investigate Lazlo’s father’s accident, it leads to more questions and speculation, with some despicable and atrocious realizations unveiled. Coincidences, that are becoming all to real. A hatred turning into a whole new level of depravity.
The major plot line continues to carry through the books so far released, however, each book has it’s own sub-plot, that offers the characters more to contend with, or are these small developments just more layers to this overall plot?
Amongst the hatred and investigation of the main story line, a new friendship blooms unexpectedly for Cade. It was good to see this relationship build slowly from a chance encounter and helping another in a twist of fate in Norway. Though, Faith will have her own personal issues of worry and “hatred” to contend with, all the while, she becomes unwittingly a target in this dangerous investigation into the truths of what happened to Cade and his team in the anti tank land mine “accident”.
Dale delivers you a story filled with intrigue, dramatic suspense and action. A story that also deals with people who show compassion, kindness, care, being positive verses those that deal with life in a bitter, negative manner. Wonderful, intelligent, caring and compassionate characters that are reeling from horrific injuries, learning to deal with life and limitations as it now is yet never giving up and adapting. Determined to find answers and justice – to right the wrongs. Always giving and helping those that are in need of help. We are also introduced to another team member… I’m sure the danger and twists will continue to grow.
Dale continues this captivating series with yet another page-turning drama. Intrigue and action, twists and unexpected turns – with CADE. I highly recommend not only reading CADE, if you haven’t started, go back to the beginning and start reading the SEALS OF STEEL series . It’s for those that love military based heroes and the women that capture their attention, care and love.
(4.5)SEALS of Steel is an enjoyable series. This is book 3 and I am ready for 4 🙂 Although they can be read as a stand a lone, I do not recommend that. This series is like watching a play as the plot unfolds each act (book) I don’t quite grasp the quick connection with Faith and Cade, but I did enjoy. I like watching the thread unravel as they continue to search for what really happened when they ran over the landmine those years ago. Now throw into the mix the thought that loss of family members and friends through the last couple of years might not be accidents, phew, where are we going here. How do they wrap their brains around that? What about the message given to Faith, in person, for Cade? Just makes me wonder even more if Mouse is not dead? Could he possibly feel betrayed? Its been tingling in the back of my mind since book 2. Except that still wouldn’t account for why and how it all happened in the first place. Hooked, I am hooked on this series. The romance is a benefit to this series. I received an Arc and voluntarily express my thoughts and opinions.
With Badger still in serious condition after his surgery, and Erick needed to act as point person and contact with Mason (SEALs of HONOR) and Levi (HEROES FOR HIRE), Cade, Talon, and Laszlo are taking their next step in finding the person who has been hiring hit-men internationally to not only destroy the surviving members of the truck explosion in Afghanistan two years ago, but also to kill four, possibly five, of their family members through hit-and-run and other auto accidents. Up until now, those were thought to be unfortunate and unrelated events, but as our five heroes compare notes, it appears these tragedies are indeed connected and meant to cause more pain to the former SEALs unit members. Badger’s parents, Erick’s older brother, and Cade’s sister have died; and Laszlo’s father was also the victim of a hit-and-run on a dark road in Norway but is still alive. So, Cade, Talon and Laszlo are flying to Oslo to investigate. On the flight they meet Faith Halladay, an airline pilot with whom they shared a cab on their arrival in Santa Fe from Afghanistan. Faith’s close friend, Elizabeth, has also been injured in a serious auto accident in Norway. Could this be another related accident, and could Faith also be in danger because she recognized the face of the driver of the rented SUV that hit Laszlo’s father and could confirm that he had been in Santa Fe the day before they left for Norway? Cade bonds with Faith while protecting her, and Geir arrives to help. Monkeyman, who escaped capture in Kabul, reappears in Oslo.
