Have a destination wedding, they said. The mountains are so romantic, they said. They’ve obviously never been a runaway bride.Olivia Love has it all. She’s rich, spoiled, and about to marry the man of her dreams—until she witnesses her fiancée with someone else, sending her on a little run. Down the side of a mountain. In her wedding dress. When she finds a cabin in the woods, her relief is … finds a cabin in the woods, her relief is short-lived at discovering it to be empty. No phone, no heat, and no way back to her perfect little life. That is until a gun-toting mountain man fills the space and sends her heart rate skyrocketing.
Carter Fitzwilliam likes the simple things in life. His sheep farm, his privacy, and man’s best friend are all he needs until a smart-mouthed beauty in a white dress breaks into his cabin and threatens to complicate the hell out of everything.
Will these two opposites attract or push each other over the mountain?

She ran from her wedding, finding out her guy was cheating on her. Of course it was winter and on a mountain and she wasn’t thinking so she grab a jacket still in her wedding dress and took off in the snow. She fell and cut her leg and she felt like she had been gone for hours. She ended up at a cabin that looked like no one lived there. This is where the story gets good. As you read on you find out this girl and guy that she breaks into his house has quite the past and you will laugh and see why this author told this story. You will love it.
Cabin Fever (Lost and Found Series, Book One) is a standalone novel with a guaranteed happily ever after. A opposite attracts troupe with a romantic comedy theme transuding through suspense & a jaw dropping twist that will leave you in muddledness.
Carter Fitzwilliam & Olivia Love so adorable together. I love the sarcastic & witty banter between these two characters which creates a bubbly read. Supporting character’s accentuated the narrative. My favourite supporting character was Olivia’s twin sister. I loved her, she was cool & charismatic. Sensious moments entangled with humorous ones. To wrap things up a perfect ending.
Looking forward to reading the next novel in this series.
Wow!
Olivia Love is a woman who ran away from her life on her wedding day after discovering a betrayal. She runs to a cabin in the mountain and thinks it’s deserted but then gets the shock of her life when a man comes in with a rifle pointing right at her and a dog.
Carter Fitzwilliam is a loner sheep farmer who doesn’t want anyone in his house or his life at all. When he comes home to find a woman in his kitchen he doesn’t know if she is a robber. All he knows is that doesn’t want her there and will do anything to get rid of her.
Together they go on a journey that will change the course of their lives for the better.
I loved this book. It was so sweet, funny, and beautiful. I couldn’t stop reading it. No one will want to miss out on this beauty.
I wasn’t sure this was going to be my kind of book. I was thrown off by the beginning feeling like I was tossed into the story already in progress. Well, it was; however, the missing pieces started to fall into place very quickly and kept me turning pages to see where it was going. And can I say “WOW!” what at story. The humor spot on. The twist…AMAZING! I don’t give spoilers, but let me say the tossed can of beans had me snorting out-loud.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I’m at a loss here because nothing about this worked for me. Let’s start with the fact that I’ve never encountered a more unattractive MC than Carter. The description isn’t all that attractive to begin with but when things start to heat up, we learn that his preferences are unusual enough that women never want a second time with him. Say what now? A man that disgusts and/or horrifies the women willing to sleep with him is not a selling point for me.
Olivia wasn’t much better because she’s sheltered and clueless, but not in a cute way where you want to see him support her as she blossoms. I stuck it out, hoping things would improve because I hate to quit a book but it actually got worse, not better. There’s all kinds of stuff happening but it’s kind of background noise in that we’re not given enough context to care. The dialogue is stilted and not at all realistic, which is impossible for me to get past. I was hoping this was the beginning of a fun series but it’s definitely not for me.
10/10/2020 “Cabin Fever” (nook) has a funny yet sad beginning. As the story progresses, Carter and Olivia continue feeling angst and intense emotions. Their love story is heartbreaking and touching. There definitely were twists and turns until the murders of Carter’s mother and sister were solved. A satisfying HEA.
I encountered a couple of errors:
At the end of Chapter 9, Olivia states that she “started the truck, realizing I hadn’t had my foot on the break before.” Should be brake.
In Chapter 10, Debbie (the waitress/owner of the diner) says to Carter “the coffee guy. Never seen you sit down for food before.” However, in Chapter 24 Carter tells Emily that when he was a kid, he helped Debbie by sweeping the floors in the diner. The first reference to Carter does not fit in with the second.
Thank you.
Loved how both characters changed each other for the better! Was very entertaining to read. I couldn’t wait to turn pages and see what happened next! Especially loved the nicknames “Mr. Grumpington and Truck Butt”.
Loved this storyline!! Olivia runs away from her wedding after seeing her fiance cheating on her. She finds an empty cabin and is shocked when a big mountain of a man yells at her. She faints and he takes care of her. Because of a storm she is stick there with Carter, aka Mr. Grumpington. As they become close we learn their families are intertwined in the past. My only criticism is that the epilogue had zero to do with Olivia and Carter.
CABIN FEVER is a Mountain Man (Enemies-to -Lovers) Romance Book. It all begins with Olivia Jane Holiday Love deciding to runaway from her wedding. She is cursing the people who talked her into this destination wedding. They said, “The mountains are so romantic.” She was feeling like an idiot. “Who runs from their wedding during the middle of winter in the mountains of Maine in a wedding dress?” She felt like she had been walking for a long time. She was sure she had been walking most of the day. She was sure she had covered hundreds of miles. Just when she thought she would die, she saw a cabin in the woods. It was a beautiful sight, and made the mistake of thinking it was deserted.
Olivia “met” the owner of the cabin named Carter. They could not have been any more different. She came from money and was spoiled. The cabin had no phone, no heat, nor a way back to her perfect life. Carter was a hermit. Living a life of a reclusive sheep farmer living on the side of the mountain.
It was a wonderful journey that the two had to finding their way to care about each other. And the growth of Olivia. Her joy in learning new things. Like learning to cook, and only almost burned down the cabin once. Learning to drive, but no willing passengers. She even learned how to take care of the sheep. Poor sheep! This book is fun, romantic, a sexy side, as well as serious issues. I found it to be a lighthearted enjoyable story. I recommend you would enjoy reading.
“I’d have the memories of the time when an exquisite beauty with golden hair took my breath away with her sweet soul.” – swoon-worthy sweetness!
This was a sweet romantic read. I was rooting for Carter and Olivia through the whole thing. The extravagance and snootiness of her family seemed a little OTT, but it was for the most part amusing. There were a lot of really super sweet moments and the ending was believable, so I would recommend it to others most definitely. Cabin Fever
Didn’t finish it
Fun great read. I couldn’t put the book down. The main characters are strong and likeable.
This book was terrible, like a high school kid trying to write. It took forever to get to the story and not worth the time or money.
Ok good ending
Carter and Olivia will have you glued to this story. When Olivia caught he fiancé in a compromising position all she could think of was getting away. Too bad she found herself in a cabin lost in he mountains. When Carter returns home he finds Olivia eating a can of beans and to his dismay she faints. These two unlikely individuals bond but lots of drama comes their way and when the truth finally comes out, Carter and Olivia’s relationship will bring them closer to their happily ever after!
I liked the story and the characters even though they both seemed a little naive at times. The ending flew by but I was happy for the couple in the end.
She leaves her wedding in Maine after witnessing her fiancé with her cousin. She takes off through the woods in her wedding gown and ends in an empty cabin. After a while the owner returns and threatens her with a rifle.she throws the only food she could find, a can of beans at him. They realize that she was not there to rob him. He is a sheep farmer and a loner. She is from a very wealthy family from Washington and is very spoiled. The story progresses with him teaching her to care for the sheep and the value of things. There is a big twist about who he really is. I really like the way this author writes. This is the second book I read by her
I tried for several chapters but just had to put it down
It’s a quick easy read. Needs a better proof reader .
Great read!
