Ready for Gunner’s story and the epic finale of Steele Shadows Security? From multi-award-winning romantic suspense author Amanda McKinney comes book three in the steamy, edge-of-your-seat, three-part series, Steele Shadows Security… they’ve been looking for.
Welcome to Cabin 1, Cabin 2, Cabin 3…
Businessman. CEO. Head of household. Three titles worst suited for Gunner Steele, the short tempered, reticent former Marine and rebel of the infamous Steele brothers. After an evening searching the mountains for his missing office manager, Gunner finds an undercover agent at his front door demanding protection—and that anyone but him be her bodyguard. Usually, Gunner didn’t give a damn if someone disliked him, but this particular curvy vixen had information about the man who killed his father and maimed his brother. Information he’d gladly sell his soul for… but is he willing to sell hers, too?
After failure to deliver the location of a Russian spy as slippery as a bowl of borscht, Lexi York is fresh out of a job and a near-death experience when she seeks refuge at Steele Shadows, despite her disdain for the tattooed bad boy, Gunner Steele. At her wits end, Lexi devises a plan to use Gunner to get her job back, but what she hadn’t planned on was developing feelings for the tortured soul she could never tame.
Unwilling to make promises he can’t keep, Gunner is faced with the biggest decision of his life. Avenge his family, or throw away the only woman who’s cracked open his shielded heart?

WOW!!! What an Excellent Conclusion!
Gunner and Lexi’s story is exciting from the very beginning. I loved it! The suspense builds as this action packed drama unfolds with a truly spectacular twist ending and wonderful, heartwarming HEA!! I look forward to reading more of the Steele Shadow Security Series. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and I’m happy to leave my honest review.
We all need a Steele brother in our lives! How did we get this far without them?? Cabin 3 is unfortunately the last one in the Steele Shadows trilogy and I would have liked it to be a bit longer. But only because I am not ready to say goodbye to them and their stories yet. It was a very fun read and even more action and suspense filled than the others. Lexi is one tough cookie. Sassy, independent and driven. A heroine of my liking. All the breadcrumbs spread around keep you guessing for the identity of the Knight Fox and the actual reveal at the end was quite surprising. My bet was on someone else. There was one person I did not expect meeting again but this is Berry Springs and anything can happen here. Gunner’s search for himself was very touching. The walls around his heart finally fall away in the wake of his feelings for Lexi – and all that without being cheesy. Though I did find his name was used a litte too often (but maybe that’s just me). I loved the cheerful interactions with the brothers. The broken finger incident was HILARIOUS! Its a solid murder mystery with smart bad guys and even smarter good guys and on top of that you even get a swoon-worthy hero and a steamy romance! BAM! Go. Read. Now!
-ARC was provided by the author and this is my honest review.-
Holy wowzer. Gunner is my absolute favorite character. He only sees himself as a failure. Lexi ends up at the Steele’s looking for protection. She ends up turning Gunners life upside down but in a good way! What an amazing book and an unpredictable ending. I’m still like wow.. I can’t believe. I did NOT see that coming. Thank you for this amazing series!
Yowza! Cabin 3 will throw you curve balls to dodge, take you for a hair raising rollercoaster of a ride, as it provides action, romance and suspense, with an out of left field home run ending that will make you a fan of Amanda McKinney’s writing, if you aren’t already one.
Cabin 3 stars Lexi York as an in-training undercover operative that’s been left out in the cold by her boss, Astor Stone. She was to monitor and acquire information on a Russian named Sergei Orlov, aka, Bear. Lexi’s cover was blown and she is running for her life. She gets to Steele Shadows Security and is assigned Gunner, one of the four Steele brothers that are now running the company due to their father’s murder. Lexi and Gunner’s story ties in with the father’s murder case that is developing in the background of books: Cabin 1 and Cabin 2. I highly recommend reading all three books to acquaint yourself with the characters, each brother’s story, along with the father’s untimely death/murder. I received an ARC from the author in return for my honest review.
This story has fireworks all over it. Gunner is the Steele brother who is wound the tightest and ready to pop. He is feeling the strain of all that is happening in his family and doesn’t need any more complications. Lexi is all complications. She is a fighter. She has worked hard for her job and now she has not only lost it but has put her life in danger. She goes to the only place she knows she will be safe. You will be totally shocked at the turn of events and disclosures in this book. Figuring out who is trying to harm the family will floor you. Great job by the author and Gunner falls supremely hard in love just like the intense alpha male he is.
Cabin 3 by Amanda McKinney is a spectacular wrap-up of an amazing romantic suspense series. Ms. McKinney has provided readers with another book that will grab you at the first page and keep you reading way past your bedtime. The characters in this book are phenomenal. Lexi has worked her way into becoming an Astor Stone agent, if she can get through her trial mission. When her cover is blown, she goes to the best of the best, Steele Shadows Security. Gunner has enough on his plate, his father’s murder, his brother in ICU with a bullet wound to the head, trying to run the family business and now he’s saddled with a new client. Gunner and Lexi’s story is packed with drama, humor, steamy sex, action and nail-biting suspense. I loved this book from start to finish and look forward to reading more from Amanda McKinney. Soon. Cabin 3 is book 3 of the Steel Shadows Security Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
4.5 stars
Lexi is in big trouble when an assignment goes disastrously wrong. Stalked by danger she seeks refuge with the only people she thinks she can trust. Gunner is dealing with with a plethora of issues in his personal and professional lives. Evil has come for his family taking those closest to him. Now tasked with guarding a woman he doesn’t know, but who holds him in complete disdain. He finds her circumspect, determined and irresistible. She finds him to be a paradox, opposite to what she expected. Can they emerge unscathed, attain their objectives and hang on to love? Only one way to find out by reading this fast paced sexy suspenseful romance.
Cabin 3 is occupied by a former secret agent on a crime lord’s hit list.
Steele Shadows Security ramps up the suspense in this fast-paced story. Gunnar Steele is protecting an agent who failed to infiltrate the circle of a nasty Russian crime czar. This book has more twists and turns than 1 & 2, because Lexi has an impressive set of secret-agent skills that make her more of an equal to her protector — and she’s just as stubborn as he is. Even though she’s a handful for Gunnar to protect, he has pressing family mysteries — like who murdered his father and tried to kill his brother.
All the issues, for Lexi and the Steele family, rush to a breathtaking conclusion. I couldn’t stop reading till I reached the mind-boggling end!
Great story. This one was the best of the Steele Shadows Security series. It was a fast read, not because it was short, but because it’s easy to speed through this tightly woven story. It stays on point. The female, Lexi, is strong and confident in her voice, but is not annoying like how some females can come across. Gunner, our “tortured” male is doing the best he can in a role he never wanted to play. HEA. Readers who haven’t read the previous two books may be at a disadvantage because there is not much background information on the characters who cross over into this book. Also, there were a couple of word choices that made me stop and reread, for instance, pulsating prickle. To me, pulsating implies expanding and contracting, like an intense throb, whereas a prickle to me, is a smaller sensation. Anyway, it and a couple of others made me pause in an otherwise fast reading story. Enjoy.
Holy crap, what a ride!
Loved doesn’t even begin to cover how I felt about this book. Fast-paced, tension of all kinds, complex characters, steamy goodness…freaking epic conclusion to this series. And I usually guess twists, but not this one! SO GOOD. Do yourself a favor and read this series NOW!
OH MY GOODNESS!! I absolutely LOVED this book!! This is the third book in the series and YES you need to read them in order as there are cliffhangers. And let me tell you just be glad that you don’t have to wait for the next book. Lexie is trying to be an undercover agent. She’s gone through all her training and the last thing she needs to do is observe someone and not let her cover get blown. When the guy doesn’t show up for work several days in a row she’s given 2 weeks to find him or she’s fired. At the end of 2 weeks things really take a turn for the worse. Let’s just say Lexi isn’t having the time of her life. Gunner is the second oldest Steele brother and the black sheep sort of speak. When Lexie shows up at their base of operation Gunner is the only one available to take her case and she specifically asked for him not to be her bodyguard. Gunner being a no nonsense guy tells her he’s it or she can leave. He doesn’t have time for her mouth and attitude. And boy does she have both. Will she be able to break Gunner? Will he live up to her assumptions and ‘obvious’ stereotype? Will she keep her job as an agent?
So many questions answered from the previous two books as this was suppose to be the final book BUT it’s not!! I’m so excited and can’t wait for the next book or books!!!! I absolutely LOVE the Steele brothers.
I received this as an ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
Even though I was in a hurry to get into this one I was also a little sad because why do good things have to end? My seat is sore though from being on the edge with this one doing it also. Be zapped with mystery and suspense that will tingle you with intrigue with Cabin 3 in this one. Oh that Steele Shadows Security gives us Gunner and we also get Lexi. You will be given twists that have you loopy then turns that keep you dizzy. You are also given other characters with unraveling of sorts. I think I liked these guys the best but it is also really deep. These roads this author has taken us leaves us a mess in a good way.
Intrigue, conspiracy and murder, what more can you ask for in a book…oh yeah, hot chemistry between the main characters and Lexi and Gunner sure have that. The third and final installment in the series with an ‘have to read’ ending.
This story hooks you from the very first paragraph. Unending suspense and action make your heart pound until long after you have finished reading. The author definitely knows how to create characters and storylines.
Perfect Read
I loved this tale! From the first page, “Cabin 3” is an exciting, suspenseful thrill-ride of action, intrigue, government conspiracy, and murder. The intense storyline and amazingly interesting and well-developed, authentic characters make this a tale that you cannot put down. Lexi’s adventure into the world of espionage, adds drama, and danger to this tale. Lexi’s unexpectedly hot chemistry with her bodyguard Gunner is the icing on the cake and when you add in Russian spies, you have the perfect MUST READ tale. I highly recommend this tale.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
Tell me it’s not over!
I knew the time was coming and that this series would end; however, I’m not ready. Don’t they have some cousins that are in the same line of business that they could bring into business with them? Anything’s possible right! I loved each of them along with their stories. As always nothing runs smoothly, and that’s the way things always go with these stupendous men! I’m going to go get a Coke to put me out of my misery!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I like the cover which gives a hint of the hero. This is a page turner with all the great ingredients such as running for your life, murder, romance and mystery. Look forward to more from this author. The Steel Security service is great. I received this early review freely and give my opinion voluntarily.
I thought the first two were great, but book 3 was outstanding. All the action and heat you could want. I had my suspcions who the Knight Fox was and I wasn’t wrong. With Feen in the hospital, Gunner was next to take the reins, not something he wants to do. When Lexi shows up things start to change. She’s after the same person he is, but it’s not who he was expecting. This book will probably be a shocker for some. Can’t wait for Feen’s book. HEA.
Terrific series!
I read this with a rare excitement and eagerness to finish a series
An ending I never saw coming. I love the dialogue Amanda is able to deliver on all of her books, over and over again. Many lines were so spot on, like this one as our h is looking at a couple of young adult women she notices;
‘ Both were one-hundred pounds of spin-class perfection, donning six-inch heels, designer suits and over-priced handbags. Both the living poster children for America’s great entitled youth.’ This is so true and so funny to just say it the way it is.
Since this is book three of a series that the reader needed to read one and two to get to this one, I will not rehash the story. But as with the other books the plot is in constant motion, weaving the building romance along with everything else going on. The story has a great flow to it and it is very well balanced with a strong thriller plot, romance and again, the excellent dialogue. You will fall in love with all of these strong and independent characters, who all have a lot of realism and depth to them. The fact that Gunner, our H, actually cried in the book, gave a real feel that he is actually human and not just a one dimensional character. Again the balance between a realistic murder mystery, passionate chemistry and funny one liners makes for just another awesome read that I did not want to put down. I am now waiting in anticipation of the next book that I hope is about Phoenix, there is a lot that can go on there after the ending to this series. This three book series definitely will be put on my reread shelf for the future. Highly recommend to read.
