In a distant future, Trevor “Lex” Alexander was shaping up to be the next great race pilot until a fixed race got him banned from the sport. Reduced to making freelance deliveries, he thinks his life can’t get any worse. That’s when a package manages to get him mixed up with mobsters, a megacorp, and a mad scientist. Now his life depends on learning what their plans are, and how he can stop them.
This is the start of a series.
It is a light-hearted, fun, far-future adventure of an everyman trying to make ends meet and getting involved way over his head with a mad scientist, a galaxy-wide plot, the friendly AI that controls a secret lair and makes a mean burrito, and an adorable cloned fox/skunk-type creature.
Sound intriguing? Give it …
Excellent science fiction. Good characters
A Good Sci-Fi read
A really fun read. Draws you in and takes you for a great journey
Amusing. I couldn’t stop giggling about Soul Brother.
Will buy the sequel!
Really good Space Opera is what I’ve been missing, and I went through this one all too quickly. I quite enjoyed the author’s vision of a future that was dark and very bright at the same time. I also appreciated Mr. Lallo’s willingness to ‘get in there and tell the story’ as opposed to bogging it down with the ‘technical details’ as so many of …
This is one of a short series. Each book is an exciting adventure, with lots of humor. I hope Lallo writes more Lex adventures
It is a fun space opera to read. The science is not always credible but it is ok to suspend the laws of physics occasionally for the sake of the story. The crazy inventions of the cantankerous mandroid and the feistiness of his AI sidekick are laugh out loud funny.
I usually read to fall asleep at night. This book kept me awake. Smartly devised characters, whacky plot, cleverly written. A fun read!
If you’re a Syfi buff you can’t pass up reading this hot book containing tons of action from great characters. A former space race pilot has turned to free lance delivery services as a way to make a living soon gets way in over his head when contracted to deliver a case full of papers to an off-world planet. A huge conglomerate corporation wants …
Oh yes, this book is LOADS of fun. I think this may be the week I binge the series. Highly recommend for fun, funny, exciting sci fi. Definitely out of the box.
This was a fun read. If I knew more technical space language I might have been more informed but I am not. Yet I still enjoyed the characters and the story. I really loved “Ma”. Thanks for the pleasure. Linda
