When I saw my escape, I took it. Now I’m in New York City and trying to get my life back on track. Despite the tracker in my ankle, Crow hasn’t come for me. He hasn’t even called me. I told him the depth of my feelings but he cruelly rejected them. Maybe he’s forgotten about me.One day, I walk into my apartment and spot the pile of buttons on the counter. I never left them there, and there’s … them there, and there’s only one explanation for their presence.
Maybe Crow hasn’t forgotten me after all.

Honestly this series deserves all the love it gets. The third and last book for Crow and Pearl’s story had everything I wanted to and the best conclusion to their story.
All the frustration and pain I felt thru the series is worthy. Looking for a hero that grovels to get the heroine’s forgiveness? There you have it!! I’m telling you, Pearl is a pretty strong character and she doesn’t take crap from anyone, including Crow (I love him, but he deserved to suffer a little ).
The evolution these two character had is one of the best ones yet and to see them have soft cute moments and being all about romance was literally a dream come true
As for the story, I’m now interested in Cane’s story. I hated him on the first two books, but he redeemed himself in this last one. So I will probably read his books soon.
Anyway, please take this series soon if you haven’t yet. You don’t need to know anything besides that it’s a pretty dark story. I promise you will love it!!!
Great ending! Couldn’t wait to read more about Crow and Button!
Buttons and Pain
By: Penelope Sky
Narrated by: Michael Ferraiuolo, Samantha Cook
Series: Buttons, Book 3
Picking up where book 2 ended, Pearl is back in the states. Her acclamation to life is not easy, and she misses Crow. But will he come for her? There is a lot of action in this final installment of the series. From Crow’s arrival to Bones’s obsession we are taken through every emotional pull there could be. We did get closure on Pearl’s relationship with her boyfriend, though I think she was too easy on him! And the finale is action packed and while a little over the top, fully satisfying. I enjoyed this suspenseful, dark and twisted story and look forward to Cane next!
The narration by Samantha Cook and Michael Ferraiuolo continued to be amazing. Cook has an edge in her voice that gives Pearl a sassy, brave quality, perfect for her. Ferraiuolo has the ability to go from the domineering alpha to the mushy in love sound that Crow envelopes. It’s exactly as I would imagine him to be. I am glad these two finished the series together.

Excellent conclusion to a thrilling story line. Enjoyed every moment of reading this book – and the others as well.
When I started reading I couldn’t put it Penelope Sky is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this books.
Such a great ending to a great series – I was sad to see it end though.
The love and passion between Crow and Pearl is still very much there, even if they won’t admit it to each other. What will happen when Button works off the rest of those buttons, will she leave or will she stay?
This whole series has you on an roller coaster of emotions – love, hate, pain, heartache. By the end of book three you can’t help but feel for all of the characters – including Cane. It would be so good to read from Canes pov, maybe another series – wink wink Penelope.
I definitely recommend this series to anyone who’s looking for a bit of a darker story line.
Overall Rating:
4/5 Stars. This was an exciting end to Button and Crow’s story. I’m just a little upset that the series does continue, but not with them. I really enjoyed their story and I want it to continue.
This book is packed with steam and action. It’s also filled with love. Yes, love. It’s finally here and it goes as far as it can.
I really didn’t want to put this book down at all. I was dying to see how everything played out. I must say, I wasn’t disappointed.
Plot Rating:
This series has gotten better with every book. I was entranced from the beginning. I just cannot put into words how much I love dark romances like this one.
I definitely plan on picking up the next three books in the future. Just not anytime soon since it’s technically a different story.
Buttons & Pain follows Pearl as she’s leading her new life in New York. That is, until Crow comes back to claim her once again. Like the crazy fool she is, she doesn’t go back to Italy with him. Which means, someone else comes to collect her.
Bones.
This last book is filled with love. Filled with blood. Filled with death. It’s an amazing read.
That epilogue at the end was everything I could have wanted for the Barsetti family. It was something I didn’t know I needed for the end of this series.
Character Rating:
Crow’s stubbornness really got on my nerves in this book. If he just admitted to himself how he really felt about Button, she would have been safe. He drove me absolutely bonkers.
I think all the characters grew in this book. Everyone learned something new and they all learned to love each other.
Romance Rating:
I just realized that I didn’t do a romance rating for the other two books. Oops.
I loved Crow and Pearl’s romance throughout the books. It grew into something so beautiful. It was a magnificent love story to fall in love with.
It had the right amount of steam. PS didn’t take it overboard. She didn’t just load the books with sex. She made sure there was love and emotion.
Writing Style:
I have really enjoyed PS’s writing style. I will most definitely be picking up more of her books in the future.
Her writing is so easy to read and get sucked in to. I love that she alternates perspectives between Pearl and Crow. I just love everything she did with this story.
Ok, so I loved the book and the way the trilogy ended, but I was disappointed in the editing. There were a lot of missing words, words turned around, and misspelled. I used my imagination to fill in the blanks, so it was not so bad, but a little annoying.
I can’t tell you alot about the book without giving you a lot of spoilers, so here is a tiny run down. In this book Pearl has escaped from the bounty hunters, who are taking her back to Bones, and is now home in America. She now has to start her life over, so the first stop is to the man who started it all her ex. From him she blackmails him for money to start over. So she has a job now, an apartment and then one day she comes home to find buttons on the counter. Crow. He is there to take her back and she is not going. Now she has Crow after her and Bones. Will Pearl ever truely be free?
The book was great. I loved the story from begining to end. With all the writing errors, I almost feel like the author was so wrapped up in the story she was typing away and her editor just failed her. The ending was everything I had hoped for and the book was fast paced and steady. I could not put the book down.
Loved this whole series and love this author
