After a year of working as a tour guide in the swamps of Louisiana–and the day after a man’s body is found in a canal–former Police Chief Clint Wolf realizes he can’t stay away from law enforcement work forever. Ditching his paddle for a pistol, he rejoins the Mechant Loup Police Department, but this time as their chief investigator, and he works beside Police Chief Susan Wilson as they seek to … to solve the mystery in the canal.
While it isn’t odd to find drowned bodies floating in the vast waterways of Louisiana from time to time, it is unusual to find a body with six bullet holes in its back. This first case back for Clint won’t be a walk in the park, but a blue truck and a single piece of paper might be the key to everything. The only problem? The truck has seemingly vanished into thin air and no one can find the piece of paper.

BJ Bourg does it again- another 5 star standout! The entire Clint Wolf series is simply TERRIFIC…I’m not much of a “series” fan (I don’t care for feeling coerced into buying another book!), but the Clint Wolf books are stand alones and it’s my decision whether to purchase another.
In any case, if this genre is to your liking, you won’t go wrong with BJ Bourg and the Clint Wolf reads!!
In this second book you learn more about Clint Wolf and his fellow officers.
There are a few twist and turns that I had to say to myself – HUMMMMMM,
Chief Clint Wolf is still haunted by his past and is having a bit of a hard time adjusting and dealing with it.
AWE the twists and turns of a good mystery. Enjoyed the ride! Very fascinating, kept those pages turning.
I loved this book. The retired policeman who went too far in a moment of anger and the new police chief are lovers. The town wants him back. The murder pulls him into the police force again but his job isn’t easy. Clues abound but finding the killer is tough.
I really like the characters they are well developed and realistic c
Great read!
I enjoyed the relationships that Chief Wolf had with others, his kind spirit, but take no problems from the bad guys!
I liked this book. Made me want to keep reading.
Wow this story really hooks you! Ever work pushes you forward in the lives of these characters. I rarely can’t put a book but this i read in one day. I would highly recommend this story to all of use who love “who done its” just clear you calendar before you start.
This author and this series is becoming a new favorite—good reading.
Started out fine except for the first person writing style. About 52% of the way through I was annoyed with the characters (mostly the main character). My eyebrows first went up when it was revealed that Clint Wolf was 29. Chief of police, has many years experience under his belt but begins to act like he is new to police work. The final straw was , Clint comes home late front work and finds a female friend on his front porch and stats a long conversation with her while they could both hear his puppy crying from inside the house AND inside his crate. Nice guy, leaves the puppy in a crate while he is at work. Doesn’t bother to find someone to look in on the puppy or stop by and let him out. What a jerk. Not reading to the end. Don’t like Not Forgotten enough to read any more from this series.
Good plot with interesting character development.
Good story
Great book I like this author
Who would have thought a poster on the wall could have started such a chain of events?
Testy turny
I enjoyed the series
The book was a little too predictable. It’s a good story, characters aren’t bad, plot was good.
Excellent sheriff’s novel in a small town. Great story line. Good sub plot.
Fast paced excellent story line
