A well-executed legal thriller you cannot put down…
Wow! This book had it all: Mystery, suspense, courtroom drama, interesting characters, romantic relationships and unexpected surprises. It certainly held my interest from beginning to end. It raises an intriguing question pertaining to eye-witnesses who are victims of a heinous crimes and drives its point home. You cannot help pondering the issue and considering the new disclosures while reading in an attempt to figure out how things ends up. There’s a climatic ending that ties up the loose ends which make it a worthwhile read.
Jessica Black is given the case of a convicted killer who has been granted a new trial. The twists will keep the reader guessing until the end.The action is consistently woven throughout the story. There’s even renewal of old friendship, the infamous one night stand.
Jessie is a determined, relentless prosecutor with a with some emotional baggage. A previous conviction has been overturned and a serial killer may get away with his crimes. Jessie has to battle a devious defender, her own colleagues, and her heart. The book moves along at a good pace and the suspense builds up to a great ending. Great first book in the series.
I loved this book too. This is a great mystery series!
Great read. Could not put it down. Quite a twisted story and ending.
One of the 2 great reads this week… Larry drags you into the story and keeps riveted till the end… enjoyed it thoroughly… as good murder mystery as any of Harlan Coben and as good a Legal thriller as any of John Grisham …
BURNOUT was a really awesome book that when was easy to follow with one lawyer has a case against the another lawyer. She one that case and now it come back to retrial. She has to sit back and let someone else do the work for the case. It was really a awesome read and I couldn’t put the book down. Larry keeps writing awesome books. You should try them I can not explain Larry writting but maybe over the top and right of of the park. He is hard to put into writing so I would reccomend it to you to read.
1st book in the “Jessie Black” series of legal thrillers. You will be turning pages well into the night. Plenty of characters to love and to hate. Keeps you guessing up to the ending.
Great pageturner
Intriguing. Riveting. it captures you.
Enjoyed the characters and the story. Everything tied up nicely at the end. Really hard to put it down.
Similar to Grisham, I enjoyed the trial as well as the twists and turns.
Great book…worth your time.
I like trial books. Not the best but finished it.
In short – I was amazed and loved it. It seems that most often the freebie books leave a lot to be desired. This one was excellent.
Enjoyed the story very much. Didn’t realize the ending, which made the book more enjoyable.
Super thriller w/ lots of twists and turns…
