Not all scars are visible. But even the invisible ones can cut deep enough to permanently mar your soul.I would know.My soul has been broken for over half of my life. The ones who should’ve loved me pushed me away. And others who pretended to care for me just caused more damage. To my family, I was a constant reminder that ripped us apart. To most, I was nothing more than a pretty face. I began … face. I began to doubt redemption and respect would ever be possible . . . until I met him.
He was everything I needed and everything I couldn’t allow myself to want.
But if I couldn’t outrun my past, maybe he could burn it all away.

This was the first time reading a book from this author and I was definitely impressed. I will most likely be reading more books from this author in the future. Burning Violet was really well written and fabulous storyline. I loved every second of Hunter and Viloet’s story and definitely recommend it.
Burning Violet is a page-turning sweet romance. Violet ran from a horrendous past and has been in Boston and working at BB&B for about 4 years now. Hunter just moved back to Boston after an incident full of lies stole his job in Chicago and threatened to destroy his entire career. When a chance meeting at a bar the night before Hinter’s First day in the office ends after a kiss, things are rough at work once they find out Hunter is Violet, his new secretary’s boss. Hunter and Vi try to ignore their intense chemistry for the benefit of both of their careers but the heart wants what the heart wants and you can’t deny or ignore true love.
4 stars for Burning Violet by A.P. Watson. This is my first book I have read from this author and I enjoyed it. I am sure I will be reading more from this author.
Violet has had a rough life and is running from a tragic past. A past no one should ever have to live. “The ones who should love me drove me away.” Violet has worked extremely hard to get where she is. She has come along way from her old life and has plans to keep advancing in her career. Hunter is now an outcast from his prestigious family. He left his old law firm because he was accused of something, he says he never need. This put a blemish on his record and is something he is not looking to repeat. He likes Violet from the start and she likes him but since Hunter is her boss nothing can happen between them. I love how this author has them develop a close friendship before anything more happens. I love how the chemistry grows during the slow burn that is their relationship. Their relationship slowly grows and for me that makes a great story. These two both have suffered but in different ways. Neither one of them knows how to trust after everything they have been through. “When you couldn’t rely on the people who were supposed to take care of you, supposed to raise you, then how was it possible to trust anyone ever again?”
This book is a must read for me. I will warn you that there might be some triggers for some. If you are triggered by things like sexual abuse, then this book might not be for you. I will say that it doesn’t go into much detail so you might be ok. I loved the cover of this book. The pop of color that is has really draws the eye. I also enjoyed the writers style and look forward to reading more of her work.
