USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Blackwood fans the flames of desire in her smoking-hot series about firefighters and the women who want them… by escaping to the ice-cream aisle. But when the opportunity arises for her to accompany her brother’s best friend—her lifetime crush—to a wedding, summer gets a whole lot more interesting.
Firefighter and single dad Jake Bennett has built a nice, safe wall around his heart—no romance, no getting burned. That doesn’t mean he’s ruling out a fling. Considering Erin’s visit is temporary, they’re the perfect fit for a scorching no-strings one-night stand. Or two. Or five. Until the worst thing happens: Erin and Jake are feeling more. Damn that four-letter word.
Now their hearts are on the line, and when their smoldering summer comes to a close, it’s going to be harder than ever to put out the fire.

Did someone say hot single Dad who is a firefighter? Yes please! Jake Bennett is a great dad to his young daughter, loves his family, and his city. When his best friends younger sister comes home for the summer, he is reminded of the bro code. He isn’t allowed to be attracted to the sexy teacher, but that doesn’t stop him. Erin doesn’t want to be home with her meddlesome family. She lost her job and is frantically trying to find a new one so she can leave at the end of summer. That is until she meets her high school crush. Erin and Jake always got along, and had fun together growing up. Now that they are grown up, their feelings, and attraction, are much more heated. This is a hilarious and hot story of finding your heart’s desire and taking a chance. The banter was fun, the story was sweet and the passion was fiery! I really enjoyed this charming, heartwarming and steamy romance.
Burning Up is the start of a series about firemen and the women they fall for. What’s not to enjoy!?! Gorgeous, hunky firemen…yeah, thought you would catch on quick!
He is her older brother’s best friend. He is a single dad. He is a fireman. He is her every high school fantasy. He is…Jake Bennett.
But Jake Bennett doesn’t do relationships, or he didn’t!?!
This sweet story is about coming home and finding yourself. Now if only her friends and family could get their acts straight! I look forward to more Flirting With Fire.
This story centers around Erin Jenkins and Jake Bennett.
Erin has ben living in California for the past 10 years. She left her home in Portland, to go to college and didn’t return because she felt her family was overbearing.
Jake is a single Dad, a firefighter and Erin’s brother’s best friend.
When Erin is laid off , she returns home for the summer, hoping to get a job back in California by the time school starts. When she sees Jake again, the attraction is instantaneous. She always had a crush on him , but Jake had promised her brother never to get involved with Erin.
The story at times was humorous. It was also a reminder that families are complex and sometimes the pressures put on the children ,even as adults, can be stifling.
As a whole, it was sweet, at times predictable story , and one to be read for the enjoyment of the moment. It was more of a 3.5 star story.
