In this second novel of the Dreamlight trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Amanda Quick, psychic power and passion collide when a legendary curse ignites a dangerous desire. The Arcane Society was born in turmoil when the friendship of its two founders evolved into a fierce rivalry. Nicholas Winters’s efforts led to the creation of a device of unknown powers called the Burning Lamp. … called the Burning Lamp. Each generation of male descendants who inherits it is destined to develop multiple talents—and the curse of madness.
Plagued by hallucinations and nightmares, notorious crime lord Griffin Winters is convinced he has been struck with the Winters Curse. But even as he arranges a meeting with the mysterious woman Adelaide Pyne, he has no idea how closely their fates are bound, for she holds the missing lamp in her possession.
But their dangerous psychic experiment makes them the target of forces both inside and outside of the Arcane Society. And though desire strengthens their power, their different lives will keep them apart—if death doesn’t take them together.

Another great book in a series of books.
I love this series, and this book delivers fascinating characters and a plot that kept me intrigued.
Fabulous! I read “Fired Up” a while ago, without even realizing it was part of the Dreamlight Trilogy. And I don’t even think they need to be read in order or together; each book stands very well on its own. But I’m SO glad I read this one, because it was an absolutely wonderful historical romance, filled with passion and mystery. I couldn’t put it down!
Cant st enough about this lady’s talent at story telling . I’m never bored reading her books and I’m always waiting for the next on.
This is a wonderful series and I love it! I love her books and her paranormal talents in the characters.
I love Amanda Quick. Although she writes as Jayne Ann Krentz and Jayne Castle. I think the writing flows best as Quick. I have a hard time reading Castle as the writing doesn’t flow; with Krentz it’s in the middle. It becomes very apparent in her 2 trilogy’s that she writes with 1 book from each author. I even have a trilogy’s to a friend’s to read saying nothing about the authors and her favorite was Quick. “It’s easier to read” she said. She was very surprised that they were all by the same person.
Of course my favorites are ALL the quick books!!!!
I wish she would stop making trilogy using all the authors as I don’t really want to read the others, Castle especially, but I have a hard time convincing myself not to buy Quick’s books.
Amanda Quick is always entertaining even though she is very formulaic with her novels. All the stories are almost exactly alike with just the character’s names have changed. I have read this author’s work many times, but again, very much the same plot with a few variations.
It was a good escape book.
I really enjoyed reading Burning Lamp.
Big fan of Amanda Quick
I like how the author brings in familiar characters.
Well-done fantasy of the Winters and Jones feud, the Jones formula and paranprmal powers.
Enjoyable read!
This author is a favourite of mine and I enjoy every book I have read to date. This one is interesting, fast paced, and very easy to read.
All of Amanda Quick’s (Jayne Ann Krentz) are entertaining, fast paced, alpha male romances. Love her work.
Love her books
It’s part of a series I love, and keeps me on my toes, and waiting for the next book!
One of the Great author
Never disappointed reading any of her series of books, ability to draw you into the characters and really interesting psychic dynamics, also love the humorous hero/heroine interactions. So entertaining to read.
