In this second novel of the Dreamlight trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Amanda Quick, psychic power and passion collide when a legendary curse ignites a dangerous desire. The Arcane Society was born in turmoil when the friendship of its two founders evolved into a fierce rivalry. Nicholas Winters’s efforts led to the creation of a device of unknown powers called the Burning Lamp. … called the Burning Lamp. Each generation of male descendants who inherits it is destined to develop multiple talents—and the curse of madness.
Plagued by hallucinations and nightmares, notorious crime lord Griffin Winters is convinced he has been struck with the Winters Curse. But even as he arranges a meeting with the mysterious woman Adelaide Pyne, he has no idea how closely their fates are bound, for she holds the missing lamp in her possession.
But their dangerous psychic experiment makes them the target of forces both inside and outside of the Arcane Society. And though desire strengthens their power, their different lives will keep them apart—if death doesn’t take them together.

After reading this book I had to get all the books by Amanda Quick and loved them all.
All her books are interesting. I can’t wait for a next book of her.
love this series and Amanda quick aka Jayne ann krentz
Interesting time period with a good story
I love Jane Ann Krentz writing as Amanda Quick. Always enjoy these books. They are funny & have a mystery involved.
Fabulous
A great thriller keeping you up, turning the pages until you get to the terrific ending.
This is the second of three paranormal ‘Arcane’ novels. I have not read the first. This is easily a stand-alone, That said I am looking forward to reading the third book.
The characters are unique, intelligent, and interesting. Even though the ‘bad’ guys are known to the reader, the action is unpredictable.
Have never found a book by Amanda Quick that I didn’t find engrossing.
I love this author’s work
One of my favorite writers (under all her names). I always enjoy her books because they are well written and the characters are developed so they seem real to me.
Love this series, just the right amount of romance and paranormal
If you like Krentz’s Arcane series or her Harmony (Castle) you will enjoy this book. Part of the fun of reading her paranormal stories is fitting them into the generational history and legends that Ms. Krentz has created. Just remember she uses a different name for each era even in each subseries. Quick for historicals , Krentz for contemporary and Castle for sci-fi. P.S. I have a collection of her early contemporaries as Stephanie James and I have seen them listed on Amazon.
Great book! Her books usually follow a basic plot; but, why fix something if it’s not broken. I always enjoy her stories. 🙂
Ridiculous premise
I am a big fan of Amanda Quick and have read several books. She NEVER disappoints!
I read everything by Jayne Ann Krentz and all of her pseudonyms. Her books are an entertaining and easy read after a hard day.
It was tired. Not as good quality as the books she’s written ten years ago. The author doesn’t seem to enjoy or believe in romance any more. But I read it and enjoyed it. I’ve always loved her books. When in the flow, she can describe a dog, a horse, a person in five sentences and make you want them.
Loved the book. Have read it and listened to it more than once.
Love the Arcane series
