Max finds himself back working for the Crown when a killer surfaces again. Owning a brothel is just business, but the woman who keeps Max enthralled is the one who manages it. When she becomes a target, all his protective instincts come out. Yet they both have secrets that could keep them apart. Love, passion and a maniacal killer set the pace for a very entertaining book. Fire play as a major role in sex is one I haven’t read about before. Definitely on the dangerous side and not to be used lightly.
I love this group of characters that Alyson Chase has created… They’re relatable, and I love the dynamic between the group of friends. She manages to intertwine their lives and conflicts without giving away too much of the previous characters’ stories. Super easy to read and thoroughly entertaining. That being said, I’m off to read Sin’s story next! <3
The third book in the Lords of Discipline series a well written book with a very good storyline, the story flows smoothly from page to page. This is Maximillian, Baron of Sutton and Colleen Bonner’s story there is suspense, drama, danger, an evil villain called “Zed”, and romance. What a story! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rather interesting and different.
Colleen the madam for The Black Rose because of her cousin she had taken this job. Max the owner of the Black Rose is attracted to Colleen, but there are other things too that hold his interest. There are interesting parts to this book and to be honest, things I have never thought about before. I found the book rather interesting and different a nice change. This book is for adults make sure you read the warnings but I can recommend it will be an entertaining read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I was a little apprehensive going into this story as to if I would like the premise of the story but let me tell you, the way it was presented was in such a way that you can see into the heart of the story. Not to downplay it but just know that is not all this story is about. It is about sinners and saints. But who is who? Max and Colleen are two souls who need each other. Trust plays a huge part in their relationship and it was amazing to read how that trust turned in passion and love.
I received a complimentary copy from the author through Booksprout.
Loved the book. It was well written, entertaining and holds your attention. Max and Colleen are great characters and the interaction between them makes for great reading. I would recommend this book and I am sure you will enjoy the book as much as I did.
This intriguing steamfest was terrific on all accounts, and included a most entertaining bonus in the “don’t try this at home” warnings, making me wonder just what on Earth kind of kink would be found within these pages. The answer: thankfully nothing that wasn’t mutually enjoyable, and was actually rather tame compared to what my worst-case-scenario imagination had feared. Phew! The characters were brilliant, and the plot was full of twists & turns. Duty, sacrifice, friendship, honesty, forgiveness, betrayal, courage, desperation, social pressures, independence, dreams, hope, and love were some of the underlying themes in this well written tale. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but am planning on catching up because I don’t feel like saying bye to Max & his pals just yet.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This is the third book in the series but could be read on its own however I’d recommend reading the whole series to fully appreciate the story. The story drew me in from the start, the pace is very good & flows well all the way through, there are some spicy, hot (in more ways than one!) love scenes but it is the plot that gives this novel the edge. Max & Colleen are attracted to each other but there’s a gang leader to catch. I read the book in well under a day as I was loathe to put down this captivating, engrossing read, I look forward to Dunkeld & especially Summerset having their stories
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
The first and second books of this series were wonderful. This one was very disappointing for some reason. I could not get into the 2 characters, Max & Colleen. I just didn’t care for their story, it did not keep me engaged at all.
Although there is the group of noble friends working for the Crown, this is a refreshing change from the usual in this genre. The heroine, Colleen, is a merchant’s widow, who has been left penniless. Max has claimed his retirement, but then Coleen gets a threatening letter and he goes into protective mode. I felt how their relationship was depicted to be believable. Max is very exacting and caring in his interactions with Colleen.
The author warns at the beginning and end NOT to re-enact the fire play; do take note!
