What happens when your baby’s daddy crashes naked through your bathroom ceiling… and into your life?A long time ago, York Davis made an online friend, and fell in love with him. Unbeknownst to York, FrogPrince100 was also a college professor. When they met to sate Prince’s heat, Prince conceived. The very next day, Prince disappeared from York’s life, shattering his heart.Five years ago, Perry … heart.
Five years ago, Perry Larkin did something he shouldn’t: he gave in to his desires and slept with his crush. The very first alpha to make him feel safe after much violent abuse from his exes. Thing was, York was sixteen years younger than Perry. To hide his identity, Perry wore a mask to their first and only meeting. Then, crippled by guilt, he left, taking their unborn child with him.
Fast forward to today: York is a firefighter who has sworn off love. Except his nervous new neighbor, Perry Larkin? He smells familiar. Perry feels familiar. York has no clue what FrogPrince looked like, but Perry can’t be him. And York shouldn’t want Perry in his bed, all day, every day. He shouldn’t want to screw Perry into next week.
Besides, Perry has a four-year-old son who can’t be York’s, because Prince had been on birth control that night… right?
Burning For My Prince is a 89,000-word standalone non-shifter MPreg novel with snake jokes, new uses for honey, and an adorable four-year-old. No cheating, no cliffhangers, but there definitely is a Happily Ever After.

So hot, wonderful narration.
Burning for My Prince is the first book I’ve read by Anna Winehart and I loved this audio version performed by John Solo. I am a huge fan of John Solo’s audio performances and this one is outstanding. I’m honestly not sure if I would have liked this story as much if I’d just read it. The story was good but John made it great. The different voices he uses for the characters are diverse and made it easy to tell which character was speaking. I especially like the voice he did for Perry’s son Caleb.
I definitely want to continue with this series if more are released as audiobooks.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
Reviewer’s Note: Anna Wineheart was kind enough to share the release of Burning for my Prince with a select group of people who offered to listen and leave an honest review. Being given a free book doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on the author/narrator. I believe in being honest with my opinion and you will, therefore, get a brutally honest review. Please keep in mind that I’m not an overly harsh critic. I’ll tell you what I think in a respectful way and I hope that it’s helpful.
First of all let me start off by saying, holy hell did John Solo do a fantastic job of narrating this book. John is one of my top five favorite narrators because he does such a great job with his readings. I love his portrayal of the different characters throughout this book. Caleb was so stinkin’ adorable! I honestly just wanted to scoop that little boy up for cuddles. Not only were the voice and mannerisms of speech well done, they really made me feel for his little character. But, I didn’t just love the innocent little four-year-old. John set the audio on fire when it came to the sexual tension and naughty scenes for this book, and I was burnin’ up! -fans self- And let me tell you, it was just HOT!
Anna is a favorite author of mine as well. She’s very good at creating stories that really touch you emotionally in some way. I love how she builds up the angst and really makes you feel the friction between characters. There was more than one moment that had me wondering when one of the characters was going snap and rain down all of the drama. I’m the sort reader that gets emotionally invested in the characters. So when things happen, be they good or bad, I feel what the characters do. I laugh, I cry, I roll my eyes, you name it and I feel. Anna is brilliant at pulling you into the story and really makes you experience it.
I have to admit that I have a love/hate relationship with Perry. His lack of trust in Alphas was understandable due to the string of abusive exes he left behind. I really felt for his fear and hesitation. But, I didn’t like the fact that he basically used York to have a ‘no strings attached’ baby and then ditched him without any consideration for York. York was so in love with FrogPrince100! Prince, aka Perry, was the man of York’s dreams, and Perry ripped his young heart out. I both liked this about Perry and disliked it. The reason I like it was because it made Perry seem more real as a character. He wasn’t perfect and he made bad decisions just like a real live person. On the flip side, I disliked how Perry behaved because York was so young and sweet. I just wanted to wrap him up in bubble wrap to protect his heart from Perry.
The conflict between York and Perry was so understandable and oh so frustrating! I wanted to shake some sense into the pair of them. But, that is something I liked about this book and many other Anna Wineheart novels. She does a good job of showing how silly people can be when there is a lack of communication, misunderstandings, self-doubt, and fear to hold them back. I did like how the conflict was resolved. York almost lost the man he loves and it was just what he needed to wise up and realized what he was doing. York did a fabulous job of protecting his Omega from Ron. I just wanted to hug both Alpha and Omega during that scene. It also had me wondering where Caleb was? It would have been great if little Caleb kicked that jerk in the junk.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on that proposal. I was grinning from ear to ear like a total idiot. Of course, York would so something so silly sweet. It was definitely a ‘daww’ moment. To top off all of that sweetness, seeing York as a dad to a brand new baby, Zoey was so, so cute. I could just picture those first moments. The wedding was so unique for these two and I enjoyed it. But do you know what I enjoyed more? The bones material. Bwahahahaha! I laughed so, so hard. -kisses fingers- Beautiful.
Overall, this was a fantastic listen. There was lots to laugh about, sexy heat nookie, a whole heap of feels that punched me right in the heart, men making babies, an adorable little boy, and a happy ever after that was incredibly sweet. This book has a little bit of everything that I feel will please just about anyone into this genre. I sincerely hope that Anna decides to put all of her books on audio one day because they are definitely a go-to when I’m in the mood for a book with substance.
Long review short…if you’re a fan of mpreg with HEAs, Anna Wineheart, John Solo, and adorable kid shenanigans, give the book a listen. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.a
An abused older omega, a younger alpha, & secrets. Can they survive?
This is a great feel- good book. I fell in love with the characters from page one. The world is vibrant; filled with laughter, angst, vile ex-s, secrets, and an adorable 4 year old boy with an obsession for snakes. Oh, and you will never look at a jar of honey the same way. Ever. I love this book!
After a masked night of passion, York’s Frog Prince disappears. Having been abused by alphas all his life, Perry is afraid to trust any alpha, even the young one he is falling for. He is 16 years older than the alpha, a professor, and considers himself broken. So he disappears, keeping the child of their union secret. York will never know, right? At least until fate steps in & drops Perry into his lap, literally. Perry’s bathtub falls through the floor into York’s bathroom, with Perry inside! Naked! What’s a firefighter to do?
Now that they have found each other, the discovery process begins. What will York do when he finds out Perry is Frog Prince, and that Caleb is really his son? Can Perry overcome his fear of being physically hurt by alphas? Come. Join Perry & York as they journey to HEA. Be with them as they discover the power of forgiveness. They will touch your heart. You will love this book!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
OMG so unbelievable good. Hot and steamy at every turn. I just can’t get enough of Anna’s writing. So yummy!!
I love age gap m/m. So hot! Omg! Perry frustrated the life out of me! I wanted to shake him until his teeth rattled. So much wasted time! I can’t believe Micah didn’t tell York. It wasn’t his secret, but York was his son and had a right to know his child! I’m ticked at Micah! How would he feel if it was his kid??
Caleb was beyond sweet with the snake jokes.
Yes, finally Ron gets a small taste of his own medicine! Tragedy brings about big changes for York and Perry. And Perry finds there can be more than running and hiding. Check it out.
I think that this may have been the only book with a father not being told that he had a child that I actually felt that the reasoning behind that choice made sense. I’m not generally a fan of that trope because it always seems like the parent hiding their child from the other is simply selfish. In this book, I sympathized with Perry’s fear of alphas as it warred with his desire for York, and for a child.
York has had a tremendous sense of duty and responsibility his whole life – especially after the fire. I loved him as a secondary character in the previous books and was very happy to see him get his own HEA, even though if was a bit ironic that he mirrored everything he had complained so much about in Micah’s book. He was the absolute perfect match for Perry.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Perry and York were secondary characters in the Men of Meadowfall series, and it was great to see them find their HEA together. There were lots of tropes in this book: age gap, secret baby, and hurt-comfort to start. There was a hot firefighter and a sexy professor. There was an adorable child. The combination of all of those things worked well here. I liked watching Perry and York fall into a relationship they were each initially determined not to have. I also liked watching each of them grow and change for the better due to that relationship. I laughed out loud at times, and my heart hurt for the men at others. There were times I was annoyed by the actions of one of the men, usually Perry, but I still cared about them both and wanted them to find the happiness they each needed and deserved. I enjoyed this book, and I look forward to more in this new spinoff series.
