A nice love story with a little drama.
This book was amazing. Bella and Caleb’s story was both heartbreaking and wonderful; watching them both heal with each others love was absolutely beautiful.
An excellent addition to this series.
Ella is living with a terrible case of survivors guilt. A car accident caused by a drunk driver kills a friend and injured her best friend, boyfriend and herself. She pushes everyone away, breaks up with Caleb and leaves Willow Brook as fast as she can!

Book 5:
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Burn So Good (Into The Fire Series Book 5): Caleb and Ella by J.H. Croix and this review was given freely.
A steamy second chance at love romance where survivor’s guilt, unrequited love, a stalker, some accidents and the close knit family of the Willow Brook Fire & Rescue are melded together into an easy flowing but at times tension filled story with a happy ending.
10 years after a car accident results in the death of Caleb’s best friend, burns for Caleb and Ella, and their breakup, Hotshot foreman Caleb Fox finds himself again rescuing the only woman he truly loves, Cade’s younger sister, college environmental science professor Ella Masters.
I do like Alaska stories. I’ve read others by this author. This was an interesting story with Ella just seeming to live a cursed life with multiple accidents and a serial stalker. She does have wonderful men and women around her. Ending ties the story to another place this author sets stories in. I like a good sex scene, but multiple multiple of essentially the same scene repeated detracts from the story. I think this one had a max length descriptive of a single session.
If J.H. Croix writes it, I will read it. Always a HEA but with realistic characters and plots.
Loved the just slightly flawed characters….loved the Romance part and the HEA
An entertaining afternoon read. Loved it!
I love all of these books. The characters appearing in all of the stories is so comfortable and funny. It is like catching up with friends.
Nice story with good characters but just not enough action for me. I do love this author so I will be reading her other books.
Loved this story with the Willow Brook, Alaska characters. Would love more stories.
Good romantic
I’ve enjoyed all J.H. Croix books I’ve read, look forward to new ones.
Overall, it was a fun read, but I was frustrated by the main characters insecurities.
Seems as though the relationship was built on sex and I wonder how long that will last.
This book is dramatic and sad without humor to balance the story.
A quick read that has everything.. fire, a stalker and romance.
I had a very hard time getting into this book and actually quit reading it a 1/4 of the way in. The characters just didn’t seem to connect. They were either avoiding each other or kissing. Not my type of reading.
Burn So Good by J.H. Croix is an exciting contemporary romance. Ms. Croix has once again impressed me with her storytelling abilities with this well-written book. I’m not a fan of any type of the first-person format, but Ms. Croix takes alternating first-person point of view formats and makes them her slaves. Caleb is a hotshot firefighter that moves back to his hometown as soon as a spot opened on a hotshot crew. Ella is scarred mentally and physically from an auto accident when she was in high school. After finishing college she stayed and worked at the college until she had enough of the man that was cyberstalking her. Ella and Caleb’s story is loaded with drama, action, humor, steamy sex and suspense. I enjoyed Burn So Good and look forward to reading more from J.H. Croix in the future. Burn So Good is book 5 of the Into The Fire Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.
“Burn So Good” was such a great second chance romance. When they were teenagers, Caleb and Ella were in a car accident. Ella has always blamed herself since she was driving; even though it was a drunk driver’s fault.
Ten years later, they are both back in their home town of Willow Brook. Caleb is a hotshot firefighter and Ella is a teacher and researcher at a university.
Caleb is a woman’s dream come true. Good looking, fights fires, and rescued a homeless cat. He has always loved Ella and now that she is back, he is not going to let this second chance at love pass him by.
Ms. Croix makes all of her characters come to live. You will be with Caleb and Ella through their whole journey.
