LeviWhere there’s smoke there’s fire, and hate can always turn into love. Lucy hates me. She especially hates how much I want her.And sweet hll do I want her. But she can’t be bothered to even give me the time of day. I should give up the chase, but I can’t.It’s more than a spark between us. It’s a bonfire. Fate rolls the dice and lands Lucy right where I want her. She needs my help, and I need … She needs my help, and I need her.
One taste, and I’m lost. I’ll do anything to have her and to hold her. To make her mine.
Lucy
Levi drives me crazy, and not the good kind of crazy. He’s smoldering hot and so handsome, it’s downright dangerous.
A hotshot firefighter, he nearly sets me on fire whenever he’s around. Perhaps it’s an occupational hazard.
He teases me every chance he gets and tempts me to let down my guard. I definitely don’t need a man. But Levi’s more than a man. He’s a man on octane fuel—pure masculinity practically oozes from his pores.
One night of weakness, and I tumble into his fire. It’s more than desire. It’s how I feel when I’m with him—safe and protected. I never want to let go.
This is a full-length standalone romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

This is a beautifully written story with unforgettable characters.
Loved the dynamic, steamy chemistry and repartee between the two main characters and together they make this a fun romance read.
Love this author and series
Love books set in Alaska and our heros traped by a moose add excitement. This book has adventure, love and lots of personal dynamics. It is a page turner.
Good characters. Interesting community. Rooting for the individuals to take a leap. Descriptions of Alaska makes you want to visit and explore the area.
Good read, good story and good characters.
Lucy and Levi
Great story. I loved it so much that I started looking for real estate in the Willow Brook area. Glad to find such a fun book to read.
Can she write a bad book? I don’t think so, I love all her stories
Burn So Bad is a fantastic contemporary romance by J.H. Croix. Ms. Croix has delivered with a well-written book populated with a spectacular cast of characters. Levi is a hotshot firefighter and has a thing for Lucy. Lucy is trying to keep her distance. When a run of catastrophes cause Lucy to have to stay with Levi all bets are off. Levi and Lucy’s story is packed with drama, humor, spice and suspense. I loved reading this book and look forward to my next book by J.H. Croix. Burn So Bad is book 3 of the Into the Fire Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
part of a series, can be read in order or alone. love everything by this author.
Love this author. I have not read a book that I did not enjoy.
All her books are great!
Good story.
Hot stuff!
Overcoming her childhood is so hard for her but he and his family and surprisingly her mother pull her through to be open to love
I really enjoyed this book and the interactions with the main couple and their friends and family. It had funny quirks and depth between the characters
Love this author. Look forward to her books
Great story with hot fiery sex!
Knew I had read others in the series, turns out I had read this before but somehow missed reviewing it. Very interesting story set in a town I have come to know and like by an author I know I will like. Lucy’s childhood has seriously impacted her ability to be open to love. Being around emotionally healthy and loving people heals her. I did start skimming the biological steamy sex scenes. Feel free to do so as they are repetitive and not needed in such detail for the story.
Good story line and he knew enough to be patient with her. Good things come to those who are patient.
This story was a good read with lots of steam and I liked Levi. He was a good guy and a loveable character but no matter how hard I tried and I just didn’t care for Lucy. I couldn’t make the connection with her. I know she was supposed to be messed up from her childhood but it just didn’t feel right but otherwise was a good story.
