BURN (Men Of Inked: Heatwave #2) by Chelle Bliss
Burn is the sequel to Flame & starts off right where Flame ends. You must have read or listened to Flame to know where things are, and WOW is this one HOT read! Chelle Bliss has done such an awesome job of bringing Pike Moore & Gigi Gallo to life. These two find trouble again, through no fault of their own. This story has smokin’ hot steam, intensity, drama, suspense, great story line, and we get a very satisfying visit with some of the past characters. As with Flame, Burn is once again narrated by Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor & they always do a terrific job. This is definitely a 5 star read!
I listened to the audiobook version of this book.
If you didn’t read Flame, then Burn really won’t make sense because it picks up right where Flame leaves off. I felt like Burn is a little bit anticlimactic compared with the high suspense that we were left with at the end of Flame. Pike and Gigi’s relationship didn’t feel as intense as in Flame. Enjoyed the writing, love the Gallo family, and story is still somewhat suspenseful and passion filled; it just wasn’t quite the romance and suspense that was Flame. I think this book is more to progress the plot for the next book, which I’m perfectly happy with.
The narration really takes this book from good to great. I am super pleased with the voice consistency between Flame and Burn. These narrators really know how to make a story sizzle!
Burn is the continuation (and conclusion) of Gigi Gallo and Pike Moore’s story and picks up where Flame left off.
This book is one emotional roller coaster—it’s sexy, dramatic, funny, with a little mystery! My heart broke for Pike when the reason why his parents treated him so badly was revealed and I loved the dynamic of the Gallo family. The story is full of twists and turns that kept me at the edge of my seat until the end.
Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke did a fantastic job narrating.
Burn is a contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and performed in dual narration. It ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
More Surprises for these two. We pick up where we left off with book 1 with Gigi and Pike. This book will keep you on your toes paying attention to everything that is going on plus things that happened in the previous book.
Gigi is having to prove to her father that she is grown and knows what she wants and Pike is learning things from his past he never would have thought. This is a terrific series with great characters all the way around. I love Gigi’s family and how they are always there for each other no matter what. I also love how Pike had a rough childhood but has come through to the other side and has found the love of his life and new family too.
Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke were great as Gigi and Pike and all the other characters in this book. Loved listening from beginning to end. Can’t wait for book 3 to come out in Audible so I can continue this great journey with these tattooed bad boys and the women they love.
I loved it and highly recommend it.
Burn
Men of Inked: Heatwave, Book 2
By: Chelle Bliss
Narrated by: Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke
Gigi & Pike’s story continues right where we left off, and this book had me on the edge of my seat! Chelle Bliss gives us a glimpse of Pike’s life growing up, letting us meet his grandmother and younger brother. We get to see the Gallo family in action, their loyalty and love for family evident. There is full fledged suspense in this one and it is thrilling. It is more than satisfying watching the relationship between Joe and Pike change as both show their faithfulness. Gigi and Pike definitely stand the tests of what love can handle and show how it doesn’t matter how long you know someone, that you just know when it’s right. I am enjoying this series and can’t wait to see where these two take me next.
Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor team up to bring us this story. They suck you in with their portrayals, let us live and love through the characters. It’s a wonderful narration and I highly recommend it.

Burn was the second part to Pike & Gigi’s story and it was amazing!! We got to meet Pike’s grandmother who raised him & his younger brother Austin. There’s also an issue about his father (won’t spoil it for others) that could be addressed in another book, hopefully it will be. I’d also like to see how Pike & Austin’s relationship progresses & hoping Austin gets his own story too! Just love the Gallo family & am looking forward to Tamara’s book!!
This is the second book in the Men of Inked Heatwave Series, a next generation from the Men of Inked Series. I love the Gallo Family! Gigi and Pike story continues where the first book ended. They are both great characters, and they share a strong chemistry. The secondary characters are great, and they have an important part in this story. The storyline is fun, sexy, and filled with family drama, and suspense. I loved it. Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a great job with the narration! This is a great conclusion to Gigi and Pike’s story, and an intriguing introduction to Tamara’s story! Now, I can’t wait for the third book in the Series, Wildfire, Tamara’s story.
listened to BURN on Audible
BURN is Book 2 in the “Men of Inked: Heatwave” series and for a fuller listening experience, I think FLAME (Book 1) should be enjoyed first for a fuller experience.
BURN was perfectly narrated and and conjured up emotions I was not expecting. The ebb and flow of the story and the cadence is wonderful.
I absolutely recommend this series.
From the time I opened book one to the time I finished Burn, Chelle slayed me. She took me on a rollercoaster of adventure and swoon worthy romance. Pike is the kind of hero I love! Alpha, tough, loving, growly, swoon worthy and so damn hot my kindle nearly melted.
Getting to see Gigi interact with her parents and assorted aunts and uncles was also fun. The bonds between the family are as tight as ever and it seems nothing will be able to break them. By Laura
I love Jason Clarke & Samantha Brentmoor as Pike & Gigi. Cover to cover, Burn gives you strong characters, witty humor and is packed with so much action, you can’t stop listening.
I really can’t wait for Wildfire…I already know Tam’s story is going to be awesome!
for the audio –
Burn was awesome! It gives us not only more Gallos, but continues Gigi and Pike’s relationship. I loved getting to know Pike better, and even grown up Joe/City as a father better! This story brought home the meaning of family even when it is one that you create.
Samantha Brentmoor gave the best angst to Gigi! As the story started, you could just tell from the way Ms. Brentmoor delivered Gigi that the entire story was going to be fast paced and worked up with emotions. Jason Clarke gave Pike his rumbling alpha self. The range of emotions that both of these narrators gave the story was perfect.
I was swept in to the Burn and wanted more. I was even happy to know that there will be more.
Sebastian who? Jason Clarke’s voice is smooth honey especially as he says all the naughty buts. He brought another level of hotness to Pike. I don’t think I would’ve been able to listen with any other voice. Samantha Brentmoor is a new narrator to me but man she was perfection as Gigi. She gave her extra sass and the enthusiasm in her voice gave Gigi extra character. This was a great combination of narrators and I could picture both of these voices as these characters.
As for the story, Chelle once again wrote a brilliant action packed book. She gives you the right amount of heat, romance and suspense to give you a great story. I love how she weaves a story keeping you intrigued and captivated from the first page to the very beginning and never letting up. And let’s not forget about those Gallo’s. This family that Chelle created is one that everyone wants to be a part of. You get to see City at is alpha best and the rest of the smoking hot Gallo men will make you drool all over again.
Chelle never disappoints and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Tam has gotten herself into.
Burn is the second book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series and the continuation of Gigi and Pike’s story. This novel started right where the first book left off and was filled with family drama, action, twists & turns and sweet & sexy moments that will entertain you and have you hooked from beginning to end. I enjoyed the antics of the Gallo family and seeing Pike’s inclusion into the family dynamics. This novel will evoke a range of emotions from you as it takes you on a wild ride and you will love every moment of it. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.
I listened to the audible version of this novel which was narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke. These two did a fantastic job with this story. They were able to give the different characters their own voice and infuse sufficient emotions into the narration. They had great pace and timing and really brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.
After a devastating cliffhanger from book one, we get the continuation of Pike and Gigi’s story. This couple is easy to add to your list of favorites. We get further into the life that Pike had since buried and forgotten, while also getting a glimpse into the love he exudes for those around him.
Their story is chock full of Gallo family moments that are sure to keep you entertained. The family dynamic is one not to miss. Despite their craziness, they love fiercely and it’s shown full force with the drama and trouble that follows the couple.
All the secrets, the fights and the lies that occur throughout this story kept me so enthralled. These two fight hard and live even harder. The spunk and tenacity that is Gigi, paired with the alpha and protectiveness that is Pike make for a damn good conclusion to their story.
Looking forward to the next piece of the series!
I honestly love Gigi!! She is so independent and sassy and strong. Family is everything to her.
Pike is an amazing man. Loyal strong, sexy, and loving.
With all the twists, turns, ups, downs, and action I was hooked! I truly loved everything in these words. Let me also say that I did not read book one in this series, but it did not take long to get acquainted with the characters.
Gigi and Pike are a couple I can’t get enough of. I loved Flame and Burn was everything I was expecting and so much more! I couldn’t put this one down!
Chelle Bliss gives another heart pounding adventure in the lives of the Gallos. Burn picks up where Flame left us, Pike coming to Gigi’s rescue and them figuring out what to do next. Pike is determined to make sure that Gigi stays in his life, while wanting to make sure that she doesn’t lose her family. Doing that also means his life takes a whole new turn when he needs to step up to his own new family challenge, his 17 year old brother he hasn’t seen in 10 years. If you thought there was a lot to take in with Flame, Burn takes the twists and turns of the story, mixes them with tons of emotion, and give you one heck of a ride.
What did I like? EVERYTHING!! We get more of Pike and Gigi. This book starts off right where Flame left us hanging. You get to see the rest of the Gallo crew while falling more in love with Pike. He shows his strong willed side while standing up to Joe. Cant wait to see what Chelle brings us next.
FREAKING EPIC!
I say it every time that Chelle Bliss always out does herself and every book just gets better and better. This was the continuation from Flame and the conclusion of Pike and Gigi’s story. There were so many twists and turns and a whole bunch of hotness. I love revisiting some of my favorite Gallo’s. I especially loved getting the good set up for Tamara’s story! I’m completely impatiently waiting on that one! Another definite One-click!
Oh my goodness!!! Gigi and Pike set the pages on fire in Heatwave book 2! Absolutely loved it! Can’t wait for more of the next generation Gallos.
