Burn is book two in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series by Chelle Bliss. This is the continuation of Pike and Gigi’s story and starts immediately where book one left off.
Pike and Gigi are in love, a place neither of them expected to be, especially Pike. They’ve only technically been a couple for about two weeks but it’s been one thing after another for this couple. Add to that, Pike is up against Gigi’s father who seems to hate him. He wants to earn his respect and his blessing but it feels like this is something that just isn’t going to happen. I love the way that Gigi stands up to her father, though.
“Darlin’, I’d carry the weight of the world on my shoulders for you.”
Pike’s father has been the cause of so much pain in his childhood and it seems as though he just can’t get away from it. He will do anything to protect Gigi but the trouble just keeps finding them and his father is always at the root of it. And, now he has to worry about his seventeen year old brother. He is only ten years older than his little brother but because of their father, they have become strangers. Pike knows that this is their chance to get to know each other again.
Gigi’s cousin, Tamara is in this one a lot more. She is the focus of the third book in the series so the author is giving us this chance to get to know her. She’s the wild child and yes, she definitely lives up to that label. I struggled with her a bit. Her antics are completely adolescent for a twenty year old. I didn’t like the way she acted around Pike’s little brother. I thought it was humorous that Pike and Gigi now feel like they are an old couple, having to be the voice of reason to both his brother and Tamara, spoiling all the fun.
The second half of the book things really kicked up and I was flipping the pages. I really do love these two together. The little time they were together was so intense, I feel like they lived several years in those few weeks, making them a stronger couple. And I loved the way the Gallo family just wrapped their arms around Pike and his brother, giving them what they needed, love. Even though for Pike, it took awhile to get to that point with Gigi’s father.
This is a fun, suspenseful book that I did enjoy. The third book in the series, as I said, is Tamara’s story and is called Wildfire.
The is part 2 of Gigi and Pike’s romance, and it is not all smooth sailing in their road to a happily-ever-after. We’ve got tattooed bikers galore, falling in love hard and fast and trying to protect their loves. While Pike hasn’t had good examples of love to learn from, he’s amazing at loving Gigi, just as she is amazing at loving him.
Chelle Bliss has filled this story not only with a lot of drama and action, but also a lot of romance, witty banter, tension and chemistry. Add to that Jason Clarke’s ability to combine growly and intense narration with emotion and vulnerability when called for, plus Samantha Brentmoor’s emotional and feisty delivery, and you’ve got an amazing listen.
Audiobook Review
This duet was amazing to entertain me in the last couple of days.
Burn pick up exactly where Flame ended and this time, we have more about Pike’s family and background.
Again I loved how everyone is so involved in their story and I think I’ll stop with this series now, so I can read the original inked guys, because damn it… They’re amazing working together!
The pace is also the same and the you feel like watching a movie or a reality show, because there’s always diverting happening on their days and nights.
Near the end, it was more like an opening to the next book than about Pike and Gigi, and that bothered me a bit.
About the Audiobook Narration…
Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke, did an amazing job with Gigi and Pike!
No crazy accents and with the right amount of lightness. Love it!
Burn is a romantic suspense and the second book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series and picks up right where Flame, book one, ended.

Pike and Gigi are back with even more suspense, family drama, and romance than before. As Pike’s past catches up with his future, he and Gigi will have to rely on each other more now than ever.

I highly recommend reading Flame first. I loved that we got more Pike in Burn than we did in Flame. Gigi got better in this book and is really starting to resemble Suzy. City, who I loved in the original Men of Inked series, seemed to be a little too much with his overprotectiveness of Gigi. I hope that as this series continues we get more of the old Gallo charm.

Audio … Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a great job of bringing Pike, Gigi and their story to life.

Rating … 4 Maple Leafs
Genre/Trope … Romantic Suspense
Point of View … first-person (Pike and Gigi)
Just when you think that Gigi and Pike can have their second chance Pike’s past comes back with vengeance which places Gigi in danger and to put it mildly it doesn’t sit well with her overprotective family. Gigi shows her strength and resilience as she isn’t about to let anything come between her and Pike and that includes his past and her family as she knows that they are meant to be together.
If that wasn’t enough to cause turmoil, tragedy strikes and Pike heads back to his hometown with Gigi and they don’t come back alone. As the danger around them escalates so do the feelings between them and Pike proves once again that there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to protect the woman he loves.
Since Gigi and Pike have reunited, they have endured so much drama, danger and emotional upheavals but there is no doubting that as long as they have each other and those they love that they are unbeatable. The pacing of the narration was perfect as the narrators brought out all the suspense and emotion of the story.
I love a growly, protective Alpha and Chelle Bliss writes them perfectly. Throw in some tattoos and I’m in heaven.
This was an incredible and wonderful conclusion to Gigi and Pike’s romance. Burn picks up right where Flame ended, going a 100 mph. These two are incredibly spicy and sweet together. They balance each other perfectly. A no nonsense strong woman with a protective man who will do what he needs to ensure her happiness.
The audiobook version of this book is amazing. Jason Clarke is a perfect growly alpha. Samantha Brentwood was amazing as Gigi.
When I did the first book in this series, I was annoyed with Gigi, thinking she was a spoilt princess. Wanting to get Pike fired just because they had a one night stand. And I thought if they fired him because of that they all suck… lol.. But as the story progressed I really enjoyed the story and didn’t want it to end. But then book 2 came along and I couldn’t get enough of this couple. Glad it picked up right where it left off.
It seemed that trouble just keeps on following poor Pike everywhere. Pike is loyal and passionate and would do anything to protect Gigi. And with Gigi’s sassy and takes no prisoners attitude they were perfect for each other. This story is filled with so much twists and unexpected moments and lots of steamy sessions. I was totally captured from beginning to end. You think you getting a romance story but it ends up being filled with so much more.
The audio narrators were totally spot on. I love Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor. It was so nice just to relax and listen to their voices narrating the story to me
As with this authors previous men of inked series this series will make you fall in love with each character. I cant wait to read the next story… Wildfire… Tamara and Mammoth
Gigi & Pike’s exciting and steamy story continues with even more sizzle and suspense. Pikes past is still haunting them and now Gigi’s whole family is involved. Pike will do whatever it takes to protect them from the the danger knocking at their door. This was a thrilling story but had many heartfelt family moments as well. I was a bit frustrated with how impulsive and naïve Gigi was at times, along with her wild cousin, Tamara. But Pike really knew how to handle them both, making me like him even more.
Samantha Brentmoor, and Jason Clarke continue to narrate this fast paced and sizzling romance. They delivered all the wit, emotion, and steam, and I was once again, totally lost in their performance.
Bliss did a great job setting up future stories with intriguing characters that I am excited for more from the men and women of Inked.
I am so glad that Pike and Gigi got a duet, because I was not ready to be done with them. There is so much action, drama and love in this second part of their love story that I couldn’t put it down. Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor continued to narrate this fun story perfectly. I loved the addition of Tamara and Austin as well as the resolution of the drama with Pike’s dad. This book has everything that makes me love romance novels and I highly recommend for a book that sucks you in and give you a good time.
the story was good, however I felt super lost. I had not read book 1 before this and I had a hard time following with some of it. this was a good story, but I’m sure had I read book 1 I would have enjoyed it even more. the narrators both did a good job, I’ve heard him before, but the female was new to me
This picks up where Flame left off and goes to 60 in just a few seconds. It was really a fast paced, drama filled, suspenseful read, lighter on the steam than book 1, but all the action made up for it. There are a couple of characters in this I really wanna know their story..and a certain one I’d rather not. But all in all, I really enjoyed this a lot. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
This was my first listen by Chelle Bliss. Gigi & Pike’s story had lots of twists & turns. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Really enjoyed Jason Clarke & Samantha Brentmoor’s narration as well.
First and importantly, this book is book 2 in a duet. The couple, Gigi and Pike first meet in the first book of the duet, Flame. I own Flame and it is in my TBR but I had the opportunity to request and receive the audiobook for Burn and I wanted to listen to it because, well, Jason Clarke.
In this story, Gigi and Pike are together now (It sounds like it was an enemies to lovers story from the beginning). Pike has a very difficult childhood (my heart broke for Pike as a child) and it’s coming back to haunt him. This book was great because it really focuses on family ties (the good and the bad). It was full of emotion and I adored all the family members from previous and future books. I do think that Gigi and Tamara (the heroine in the next book) were really young and given I’m older, their immaturity was striking to me. However, overall, I liked the characters and the romance proceeded beautifully. The action kept me on the edge of my seat and I really didn’t want to stop listening.
Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor narrated this book and they were excellent. Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators so no surprise there but Samantha Brentmoor held her own. Great narration for a great story.
This is the second in the 2 part story telling Gigi and Pike’s story. This is a story full of tattooed alpha bikers. They are literally everywhere! Two generations of them. It’s a fast paced story with plenty of action. These two fell hard and fast and I love that although Pike hasn’t had the best role models of love in his childhood, he is fiercely protective and selfless in his love for Gigi. She returns his love and is showing him that family rallies and boy does Pike need them to rally for him. You’re introduced to some of the other kids who will get books later in the series and there’s some funny banter throughout. The heat in these books is just as their titles suggest. Tattoos, ripped muscles, cocky one liners and fiery passion.
There are lots of appearances of the couples from the two previous series but you don’t have to have read those books for these to make sense.
I listened to Flame and Burn (Gigi and Pike’s Duet) and I’ve always been a fan of Jason Clarke. His voice is gruff and se*y as hell but, he is able to give you the softer side of Pike too. The emotions are right there for the taking. He serves them up for you to feast on. Samantha Brentmoor is a new narrator for me and let me tell you, what a find she is. Her performance was phenomenal. She has a great raspy voice and her male voices were top notch too. She gives you the emotions by the truck load. These two in combination give you all the heat with ALL the feels and emotions you could ever want. An excellent performance by both and I can’t wait to listen to some more Samantha now that I’ve found her.
I’d definitely recommend these books. You are gonna love these two and their fast paced, action packed, fiery story.
Love this series- Men of Inked- amazing characters and a great storyline. Love Pike and GIgi. It’s a cliffhanger.
This was such a great book. I loved the banter and the craziness that comes with Pike and Gigi. But it definitely left you wanting the next book in this series. Can’t wait to read wildfire.
Burn is book 2 of Gigi and Pike’s story so if you haven’t read Flame make sure you read that one first! Chelle Bliss never fails at getting my heart pumping especially when it comes to the Gallo men and the new generation gets better and better!!! Pike and Gigi have been through so much and have even more trials and tribulations throughout this book! Their love and devotion towards each other really shines in a way that only Chelle can make happen!!! We are given more insight into Pike’s past and how his life turned out the way that it did.Knowing Pike’s back story makes your heart beat a little bit harder for him!! Gigi is still her feisty self supporting Pike through everything!! Such an amazing couple!!
Loved this book… Definitely a page turned and could not put down…
Pike is the perfect sexy alpha and i just love how him and City are so much alike.. he will do anything for those he loves..
Gigi is just like her aunt love her spunk and takes no bullshit from anyone
OMG! I’ve volunteered to review this book. Chelle Bliss is one of my all time favorite author to read. This is the second part to Gigi and Pike story. Burn picked up right up where Flame left off at. I love Gigi the sass that comes from her mouth. There is so much chemistry between Gigi and Pike. Gigi goes with Pike to deal with his moms funeral and his baby brother that he hasn’t seen in a long time. Can Pike and Austin patch up the way things is between them? And will Joe ever like Pike? This story is filled with suspense, drama, laughs and the true meaning of family whether by blood or heart! What a great conclusion to their story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. It’s definitely a pager turner for SURE! I just could not put it down. Keep up the amazing work!
Oh my goodness! After reading Book Three in this series (Blaze) I had to download the rest of the series that was out and read them immediately. I love the Gallo family and have been with them throughout all the different series… and now with the Heatwave series we get to see all the next generation – starting off with Gigi and Pike
Gigi and Pike are friends to enemies to lovers and a ton of fun to read about. Gigi has that Gallo spirit – she isn’t going to take shit from anyone and the stubbornness goes for miles and miles. Pike met Gigi at a bike rally and then didn’t hear from her again. So imagine the surprise when he meets her again a year later and she’s his new boss’ daughter.
The attraction between these two is off the charts. But Pike’s past catches up with him and puts both Gigi and himself is a world of trouble. This is a duet, so I was so happy to have BURN in my hands to read right away after finishing FLAME.
A great series that is an easy read and full of fire for sure. I love Chelle and I don’t think there has been one of her books that I just couldn’t read. Anytime I get to visit the Gallo Family again its a great adventure!
