Death. For everyone, even immortals, there is nothing after death. No takebacks, no comebacks. It’s a full stop. The end of a story. The end of everything. For Sophie, it’s little more than a comma. A prelude. A footnote in her true destiny. She was fated to die. Many times. To know what lay beneath in the underworld. To bring the darkness back with her.It has been patient, that power that brought her … that power that brought her back.
But now, it’s ready.
She is ready, for her true beginning.
For the end of everyone standing in her way.
Starting with a wolf she once loved.
A vampire she once treasured.
Destiny will wait for her no longer.

Loved this book! This was a exciting PNR read unlike no other and I absolutely love this author ! This is a stand-alone but you will definitely want to read the others in this awesome series and that’s what I’ll be doing ! Loved Sophia she is one tough bad ass witch ! And her wolfs loyalty and love for her has no bounds , buckle up because your in for one helluva ride with this book ! Definitely 5 stars from me and I definitely recommend this book! Can’t wait for more in this magical PNR series!
Sophie is the best!! I was beyond heartbroken at the end of Anne Malcom’s last book in this series. Isla and Sophie are two of the best kick ass women leads. They don’t mess around and I love that about them. They have this very real-feeling friendship and aren’t afraid to keep it real with each other. They’re blunt and honest, like friends should be. I feel like Anne Malcom shows us how friendships between women should be… lifting each other up, watching their back and fixing their crowns. I applaud Miss Malcom for having the respect for other women.
Anyway, besides that, we get reunited with all my favorites in The Vein Chronicles. This crew is a heap of fun and they’re seriously down and dirty! I’m not a huge paranormal lover but I have found that if Anne Malcom creates the story, I am going to love it! Anne is just able to really create an entire world that sucks (love the pun) you in. It’s crazy to me that I find myself pouring through her world like I need to know the ins and out for my survival. Plus, if you’ve read Anne Malcom’s books before you know she creates these bonds between various characters that effect the reader. I was thrilled to get a strait up Sophie story since I feel like I had to know more of her. I feel like that about so many of secondary characters… there are times I’m lost in author groups or various chats with other readers that I know I’m not alone… I want stories on all of them. It’s all because Anne’s words and worlds are so compelling, so fascinating. She provides an amazing escape.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I never know what to expect from Anne, and am always surprised and so excited to read all the words and feel every one of them. Allow them to take me into an adventure that is heartbreaking, full of the right kind of vengeance and the love you don’t expect to pour out of the pages. I don’t read too many PNR authors but have definitely added Anne Malcom to my list. The Vein Chronicles are a must read and I can’t wait to see what’s next for this series!
Way to go out with a bang! Amazing read and great conclusion to Sophie and her wolf’s story. I read this cover last night. The beginning of the book blew my mind- I wasn’t sure she was coming back from that. I also loved Isla in this story. She was hysterical. Sophie and her wolf also had so much chemistry. I like that we got to see how they are in a relationship and watch them development. Such a good story line in all the Vein Chronicle series. Now we have to wait for the King and his ‘Helen’!! Kudos Anne another great one.
The witch we love has gone dark. Hang on, because the twists will gut you. Our favorite besties are in for the fight of their lives.
Sophie’s fate hangs in the balance. We were left not knowing what would become of her.
Grave witches are real. Death alludes some. However, coming back from death does not come without great cost. Each time Sophie is brought back, the darkness takes more. She is being consumed by the blackness.
Not even her mate or her best friend can reach her once she’s on a rampage. Revenge on those in her past, as well as the witches trying to contain her power, will be eliminated. Some of the innocent will fall.
Conall’s love has no bounds. He will do whatever it takes to bring her back. And if he can’t, he’ll love what’s left of her.
Sophie does not make it easy to forgive her wrath. But once her powers are bound and her rage is contained, the Sophie we kniw and love re-emerges. However, now she must re-build what she has broken.
Her and Isla need to risk it all to save everyone. Sophie doesn’t plan on surviving the aftermath. However, the sacrifice for her loved ones will be worth it. Coming back again, less of herself, is not an option.
The continuing saga delivers heartbreaking surprises over and over. Love endures. Forgiveness is hard, but when you truly love someone you work towards it. I love this cast of unlikely allies. A family amongst themselves. This story will bring the drama and continue to deliver a compelling battle that will keep you invested.
Oh, don’t mind me. Just over here SOBBING at Isla & Sophie, Sophie & Conall, Scott, my life being ruined, and not having fabulous shoes like this vampire and witch.
Don’t tell anyone.
Anyways.
Sophie gets her glory, in such a beautifully dark manner, that I don’t think anyone was prepared for any of it.
I certainly wasn’t.
Now, obviously, I had to play a little catch up, as somehow I skipped from book 1 to book 4, but I worked through it, loved every single minute of it, and here we are now.
There are battles to be won, vengeance to be achieved, bonds to keep and secrets that only your best friend would keep for you.
I can’t say much more, other than this was beautiful.
The snark and sass, the woman empowerment, the friendships, the love. Ugh. I can’t.
Highly recommend.
Finally, I’ve been waiting for this what seems like forever. There is nothing quite like the friendship Isla and Sophie share. Ride or die, sister from another mister, best bi+ches for life, men in their lives or not, nothing can break their friendship…. until one of them harbors a secret so vile it threatens everything they’ve ever known, all the battles, all the mani-pedi’s, the couture and shoes, even death.
This story is about epic battles. Those that are fought together, those among the masses and those that are fought within. Buckle up buttercup, this ride is dark and chaotic and I loved every word~
What an epic continuation of this series and conclusion to Sophie & her wolf’s story…this was one heck of an adventure ya’ll. All of the sass, friendship, relationships develop and evolve, action and all the paranormal goodness that I LOVE about this series! I don’t want to say too much and spoil anything because A LOT happens in Buried Destiny… A LOT! Seriously, I could not put this book down…. and I cannot wait for what’s next in this series and from these characters.
This is the 4th book in the series and I do feel that you need to read all the others to understand where we are in this book. This book is about Sophie . I thought if was a great book. As always Anne tells a great story and she has built a great world for her characters. I am so glad someone suggest I try reading her. I missed Isla and all of her Islaness. But Sophie had a great story .
Buried Destiny is book 4 in The Vein Chronicles. You definitely need to read the others before starting this one in order to understand everything happening. While the other 3 books have mainly been Isla’s point of view, we get insight into Sophie with this one. In order to keep this spoiler free, I’ll just give my opinion about the whole book. I felt there are still stories thst need to be wrapped up. There is a lot going on with Isla and Thorne and Lucille as well as “Rick”. I’m hoping for more books to wrap up those stories.
Overall it was a very good book. It definitely had less of Isla’s crazy in it! It’ll be good to see where these characters go from here.
